VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE Chippenham Town 4-2 Darlington
Anotehr season has passed and I'm somehow still at Chippenham. I assumed I'd have been sacked by ow or I'd resigned but here I am, still in Wiltshire
I signed a new deal on £1,000 a week which means I can get a house and finally move out of my office at our poxy little ground. We still haven't turned professional yet and its not as if I've not tried to find another job. I've applied for the job at Dulwich Hamlet, Coleraine, York (twice!) among others and still haven't even had an interview. So Chippenham it is
In the summer we had an embargo due to being taken over by the fans who are banging on about "securing our finances" which seems strange to me as we have money in the bank
Idiots.
But yeah, that's impacted who's come in. We've let go of a lot of sh*t which needed replacing as out went Evans, Lindley, Hamilton, Greenslade, Parselle, Phillips, Morgan, Russe, Harper, Friel and McSkeane. That's almost the entire first team squad
So we had to replace them, who replaced them?
RYAN ANDREWS - WATFORD - FREE TRANSFER
A huge upgrade at right back. Jamie Morgan wasn't good enough, but Ryan Andrews is
JOSH SHAW - WEST BROMWICH ALBION - FREE TRANSFER
Another huge upgrade at left back. Hayden Lindley wasn't good enough, but Josh Shaw is
SAMUEL OKOKA - WEST BROMWICH ALBION - FREE TRANSFER
An excellent option on the right to replace the injury prone Danny Williams who will now be a backup
BEN REEVES - PLYMOUTH ARGYLE - FREE TRANSFER
An old man to dictate play in the attacking midfield role. Over 200 Football League appearances
ZURIEL OTSEH-TAIWO - SOUTHAMPTON - FREE TRANSFER
What. A. Name.
CAMERON CRESSWELL - DERBY COUNTY - FREE TRANSFER
Competition for Viggars
SAM HOWES - DORKING WANDERERS - FREE TRANSFER
A better keeper
JAMIE TAYLOR - CRYSTAL PALACE - FREE TRANSFER
We're a home for Wales youth international midfielders
RHODRI EASTER - CARDIFF METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY - FREE TRANSFER
One for the future?
SHAWN MCCOULSKY - FOREST GREEN ROVERS - FREE TRANSFER
Another option on the left to give Bickley some competition
OLIVER TIPTON - WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS - FREE TRANSFER
Another good young signing!
All in all a good set of transfers if you ask me and I'm looking forward to pushing on to the playoffs
VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE FC Halifax Town 0-2 Chippenham Town
Howes, Andrews, Lees, Bodenham, Shaw, Reeves, Malone (Hanks 67), Taylor, WIlliams (Okoka 67), Bickley, Cresswell What a start! New boy Cresswell bagged a deserved goal as we dominated from start to finish

VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE Stockport County 1-1 Chippenham Town
Howes, Andrews (Otseh-Taiwo 68), Lees, Bodenham, Shaw, Reeves (Hanks 45), Bowen, Taylor (Malone 68), Okoka, Bickley, Cresswell Another comeback. The stuff winners are made of?
VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE Barrow 4-1 Chippenham Town
Chippenham Town have been rocked by the departure of manager Matthew Hawkins following the sides 1-0 defeat to Stockport County in the FA Cup
Hawkins, who won promotion with the Bluebirds, has left after 2 and a half years in charge
It is thought this has come about due to the club's steadfast refusal to turn professional, as well as the lack of investment from the club's board and the string of poor performances
Hawkins was said to be "disgusted" by his side's recent performances which have included 4-0 defeats to both Boreham Wood and Chesterfield, as well as a 3-2 loss to Wigan Athletic in sipte of Chippenham being 2-0 up with ten minutes to go
He leaves the club 16th in the Vanarama National League
Former Chippenham boss Matthew Hawkins has made an almost immediate return to management, joining AFC Fylde just a week after leaving Chippenham
The Welshman left Chippenham in acrimonious circumstances following a run of poor form but has landed on his feet by joining 14th placed Fylde
Hawkins had this to say:
"Its definitely a step up, Fylde are a great club with ambition, something my previous employers lacked. You look at the facilities and the gulf between the two clubs is obvious. This is a club going places"
It is reported that Fylde's professional status was an important factor in Hawkins' decision
That didn't take long! After just a week or so out of work I find myself back in gainful employment, this time up in Lancashire with the lovely Fylde
It was very much second time lucky as far as I was concerned with Fylde as they'd previously rejected me for the job whilst in the Vanarama North. Now they're back in the National League and had dispensed with their manager, leaving an opening for this guy.
They're just a much better club than Chippenham and I'm excited by the possibilities. They're fully professional, have a proper ground and genuine facilities, this should be fun
They've also actually won one or two things
The squad is miles better than what I was dealing with at Chippenham and its a testament to how well we'd been doing at Chippenham that we weren't relegation battlers. I thought we were good enough for the playoffs, how wrong was I? This Fylde side is so much better and is still only mid table
Just look at some of these players
We should be able to do something here, the board aren't even particularly demanding either. This should be fun
VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE King's Lynn Town 1-1 AFC Fylde
Johnstone, Burke, Musonda, Carter, Conlan, Ogogo (Goodridge 72), Haughton (Southwell 64), Whitehous, Philliskirk, Doyle, Hamilton A solid if underwhelming start
VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE Southend United 1-0 AFC Fylde
Johnston, Burke, Carter, McGuire, Conlan, Haughton, Mulumbu, Goodridge (Ogogo 62), Philliskirk, Hamilton (Southwell 62), Doyle We deserved more, but a fairly even game
VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE AFC Fylde 1-2 Yeovil Town
Johnstone, Burke, Musonda, Carter, Conlan, Haughton, Mulumbu, Ogogo, Southwell, Hamilton, Archer Maybe I should have stayed at Chippenham...
VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE AFC Fylde 3-0 FC Halifax Town
Johnstone, Teale, McGuire, Musonda, Carter, Doyle, Ogogo, Goodridge, Sani, Hamilton (Southwell 64), Archer That's more like it!
VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE AFC Fylde 4-1 Havant & Waterlooville
Johnstone, Burke, Carter, Musonda, Conlan, Haughton, Ogogo (Donnellan 69), Goodridge, Sani (Philliskirk 61), Hamilton, Archer What a performance! The front 4 of Sani, Haughton, Hamilton & Archer is brilliant
FA TROPHY FOURTH ROUND Tranmere Rovers 0-3 AFC Fylde
CHESTERFIELD 1 Briggs (67) AFC FYLDE 2 Archer (71, 90+3)
AFC Fylde secured their second FA Trophy in dramatic fashion, coming from behind to beat Chesterfield on a sunny afternoon at Wembley
Fylde started brightly however failed to break the deadlock before the interval
Chesterfield meanwhile seemed out of ideas following their playoff exit, and even they seemed surprised when they took the lead on 67 minutes with their only shot on target of the match, but with just 20 minutes remaining the trophy seemed Derbyshire bound as the Spirites sought to defend their lead
Cameron Archer however had other ideas, equalising after the ball was knocked down from a corner, before bagging his 20th goal of a season when he got on the end of a Danny Philiskirk deep into stoppage time, sending the 6,000 Fylde fans in attendance into raptures
