Projection

I dont get the projection in all honesty. Its never accurate. Its been saying im going to be in debt every year. Yet i still stay at around the same mark. Once i get my full first team of players sorted and i dont have to touch them for a few years my balance should soar. Plus, hopefully with regens coming in, i wont have to replace those players either.

Superb season mate congratulations. I've played a little of my save game. I'm through to the Capital One Cup semi final after beating Middlesboroug in the quarter final 3-2. Where ive drawn Liverpool. Now top of the league by 4 points. And got Arsenal in the 3rd round of the FA Cup and managed a 1-1 draw at The Emirates so now going to take them back to Portman Road. Gonna try and buy Bonazzolli as transfer window is now open. Placed Hunt, Anderson, Tabb on the transfer list. Now got Nouble and Taylor back from loan so will see how the cover for my front 3. Plus I have Will Keane on loan still. My starting line up has changed slightly:
GK: Barts
RB: Chambers
LB: Parr
CB: Berra
CB: St Ledger
DM: Hyam
CM: Collison
CM: Bru
ATT: Murphy
ATT: Bonnazolli
ATT: McGoldrick

Bru, Collison and Murphy have been outstanding. Although now moved Murphy to the left of the front 3 so we will see how that works out.

Cheers man.

Wow check you out with the cup run, AND bringing Arsenal back to Portman road! Nice! Well done for getting top of the league, you confident of making the top spot your own now?

In my save Murphy was awesome in the middle with Bona on left and didzy on right :)

Bru done **** for me :(

Youll soon be in the prem though boi! Keep it up :)

Thanks yeah hope so. Yeah hopefully I can make it my own. Next league game is against Derby who are 2nd so big game.

Will put my front 3 as u suggest and will see how I get on.

What a c**t that is mate. Hopefully you havent lost out on any transfer deals

Well played another month and what an eventful month it was. I thrashed Arsenal 4-0 (see pic below) in the 3rd round replay in the FA Cup and then beat Wolves to advance to the 5th round where I have drawn Barnsley. I lost to Liverpool over the 2 legs in the Capital One Cup semi final 3-1. I'm 8 points clear at the top of the league and going along quite nicely. No transfers in as got all my players back from loan ie Nouble, Taylor and Wordsworth so going give them a chance. Sold Paul Anderson to Rotherham for £50,000, let Stephen Hunt go on a free to Scunthorpe and loan Cameron Stewart to Rotherham until the end of the season. I'm hoping to have luck with injuries and bans so hopefully my squad can last the course.

WOW what a result against Arsenal! Should be set to win the league now though? 8pts is a nice gap!

Now into March and lead in league is now 15 points so will be gutted if I don't win the league. Rotating wide strikers between Bonnazolli, McGoldrick, Taylor and Nouble all chipping in with goals. Rotating centre strikers Murphy and Keane and both keep scoring. Into the 6th round of FA Cup against WBA. Two negatives is drew with the budgies 2-2 with them scoring a free kick in injury time :( and St Ledger has got into a snot cause I wouldn't offer him a new contract so I only play him now when others need a rest. How is ur game coming along?

Well don't know where everyone has gone lol but here's my update. Beat WBA in FA Cup and now drawn against Man Utd in semi final, don't hold out much hope but you never know as look what I did to Arsenal. Top of the league by 13 points with 10 games to go, already securing my play off spot. I've tried to buy Bonnazolli but Inter don't want to sell him. Put an offer in for Will Keane so hopefully can make his loan transfer a permanent one. Maybe getting ahead of myself but looking into who I can buy for next season in the Premier League....fingers crossed I make it. Tactic seems to be holding out well although drawn a few too many away games.

Wow youre doing pretty awesome man! If you make the final, massive hats off to ya! League should be wrapped up soon!!
havnt been on fm for a few days now! Been doing alot of hours at work and crashing when i get home. Hoping to teach myself some tricks on photoshop to make this story a bit more pretty! Ha.
Keep up the good work man, keep me updated. I am still keeping an eye on posts

Pre Season 2018/19

PRE SEASON

View attachment 303486

Totally messed up my pre season this year. Really frustrated me as i enjoy doing pre season and getting all the players match fit! I think the World Cup kind of threw me off a little. Plus i tend to sort my friendlies out once my fixture list comes out!

It was too late this time though, as by the time i tried arranging friendlies against some big clubs, they were not available. Would have been nice for the story to see some big teams coming to the new Bobby Robson Stadium!
I also couldnt arrange a tour of USA as i foolishly accepted an invitation to go on a Dutch tour. I still managed to get in one game in against a team in USA though.

With my pre season kind of messed up for how i normally like it, i ended up having a random one to be honest. Ive neglected some of the traditional friendlies this story has become familiar with. Having lost a bit of interest because of this, i decided to let my assistant manager control my friendlies as ive been wanting to get this season started!

Anyway....
A decent 2-0 win over New York Cosmos, nice to see Fowler get on the scoresheet. Im hoping to play my young home grown CB alot more this year! An expected convincing win 5-1 over Capelle, with Dybala, Bonazzoli & Woodrow all scoring, including my new signing at CB, Knoche! Im really hoping this guy is settles in quickly and becomes a real wall at the back!
Disappointed i lost to Vitesse, i did have a few players missing throughout some friendlies due to the World Cup and a few other players already at !00% fitness.
Decent wins over Boca & San Lorenzo at The Bobby Robson Stadium! And we finished off this years pre season with a 5-1 win over Cork City.

Nothing really to shout about from that, but i was happy to just get it out of the way and kickstart our defence of the Premier League!

So, we are now predicted to finish 5th place! Still quite a difficult task if you take into consideration the reputation of our club and our stature. We are still merely building the club. We are still well down the league as far as Annual Salary goes so to be competing with the best is amazing.

Our expectations were always going to be Challenging for the title after winning it last year. Apart from our amazing run in the Champions League last season, i was very annoyed with our performances in the cups. Being knocked out of the FA and Capital One Cups so early was a bit of a kick in the teeth. I will be looking to field stronger sides in those competitions this year and trying to battle on all fronts. We still dont really have enough depth to be doing that, but i will be trying my best to at least bring trophies back this season.

The famous treble would be amazing, League, CL & FA would be perfect. KEEP DREAMING EH.

Our first 2 months of football isnt as difficult as it has been the past few years.
We will be competing in the Community Shield this year as a reward for winning the league, where we will face off with Man Utd. Starting the campaign off with a win and a trophy would be awesome so i will be playing the strongest side i have available.

We kick off our title defence against Sunderland away, then we host Liverpool at Bobby Robson Stadium, which will be the first competitive game in our new stadium. I really hope we see an increase in attendances as at Portman Road, there seemed to be some sort of bug. We never sold out 1 game....and we only averaged 23-25k in each of the last 3 seasons. Shocking when you think weve just got promoted and been over achieving. IRL the crowds would be coming in surely.
West Ham A, QPR H, Brentford A & Cardiff H are the other league games we have in August & September. We will also have a CL game and the 3rd rnd of the Capital One Cup.

I will be making an update on the Community Shield, then my next update will be at the end of September!

Man Utd have continually strengthened each season and have brought through some real decent regens too! Notable new faces in their side today are Burno Fernandes & Tony Sanabria. These two are both in their early 20's but have real amazing attributes! If you can pick either of these guys up for under £10m at the beginning of your save i highly recommend it. Also Kingsley Coman who is on their bench. He starts off at Juventus and is pretty much the same player as Pogba. Again, decent attributes and still a young player.

For us weve fielded an unchanged side from the last few seasons to be honest. The only change is Robin Knoche who goes straight into left centre back alongside the familiar pairing of Batth & Kalas. Batth i feel may start to decline now as he stopped improving last year. Bringing Fowler into the set up more regularly has definitely got to be my main aim this season. He has 5 star potential so surely his attributes are just waiting to soar.
On my bench are 2 other new signings, in Hernandez at cb who i signed on loan to add some depth. Llorente was a surprise free transfer from Real Madrid. He has quality attributes and on paper should be starting over Hyam. But ive become to trust Hyam now so i may just bring Llorente in slowly. Wahlberg who i signed a few seasons ago but has been out on loan is on the bench too. He has a 5star rating so im hoping he will improve sooner rather than later.

THE RESULT

View attachment 303477

A pretty even game between us and Man Utd in all honesty. They had the more clear cut chances but Cillessen was in real hot form. I have the tendancy of making triple substitions. I made them on 73 mins at 1-3. Straight away Man Utd were all over us. They clawed one back and put alot of pressure on our goal, but Cillessen kept them at bay and we walked out the Winners of the Community Shield. Fowler, Llorente & Wahlberg all came off the bench but never really made an impact.
Looking forward to starting the league now. Hope we can kick off with a great start.
Liverpool at home is probably our only real difficult fixture for the first 2 months, but i have beaten them in our last 4 meetings banging 15 past them in the process. 6 wins out of 6 in the league come the end of September should really be our target.

Well season finished now and won the league by 18 points. Murphy chipping in 24 league goals blooming Jordan Rhodes being league top scorer with 30 goals (Oh why did Keane let him go lol ). Lost to Man Utd 2-1 in FA Cup semi final after taking a 1-0 lead but must admit I got battered with the amount of possession and chances they had so luck y to get away with a 2-1 loss. Trying to sign Bonnazoli but with no luck I've even offered £5m and they wouldn't accept it :(...although I have managed to sign a youngster by the name of Martiin Odegaard, I think you might have heard of him ;), for a total of £1.6m so hopefully a right bargain. Mainly going to stick with this squad that I've got and only add 2 to 3 new names but just gotta get the right players in.

Just a quick update to my first season in Premier League. I would say that the powers that be have got it in for me as these are my first 7 fixtures Man Utd A, Spurs H, Arsenal A, Everton H, Liverpool A, QPR H and Chelsea A. Fingers crossed I can get some points. Trying to sign Woodrow from Fulham as he seemed to be a beast for you.
