Cheers guys!

The climb you have achieved with our beloved town is amazing,
to win the league this season would be unreal, i do think that this season is already a success as you have made it through the group stage of the champs league. Obviously now top 3 is a must with the form you have shown so fair, i would say hopefully your transfer budget is increased in jan, but id rather see more coming from the conveyor belt, which is great to see you trying to improve.
You have defo got a great chance to get through to the next round of champs league, good luck and hope for another easy round ;-)

My transfer budget was increased from £11m - £18m. My budget was at £11m after i sold on them players in preseason. Not going to be spending much in January if i can help it. My youngsters ive been playing have actually been doing well. Might look into signing a young left footed cb to replace Berra but wont need many changes really.

Ill post up a finances update at the end of the season ha

Oliveira has turned in some decent performances since i last mentioned how bad he had been. Hes scored some good goals which in the end persuaded me to sign him as contract was due to run out at the end of the season. In all fairness, its also an opportunity to make some money if he doesnt perform consistently enough. He should be worth around £7m-£10m once hes signed. So that could be a decent profit.

I mentioned id like to bring a left footed cb in as Berra is now getting old. Mings has been stepping up well but ill still need someone to cover Mings if he gets injured. Aken's attribute do make him a better player than Mings. But good rotation between should still help both players develop then once they've reached their potential i should have more of an idea who is the better player. £6m isn't a bad sum for this guy. Could make a profit out of him in a few years if im not keen on him.
Debatably still a lot of money to be spent on a player who may not actually be a first team player though.

Munir became available for loan on deadline day so i jumped at the chance!

At the beginning of the season i said how i needed cover for Hyam. I ended up bringing in Lacazette very cheaply and signing Pasa on loan. Llorente is an awesome midfielder who can play equally well in CM as well as DM. He will provide awesome cover and rotation for Hyam. Love his stats for his age. Looks like a real bargain for us. Still has a lot of potential to grow so hopefully one for the future.

Simon Tibblings contract was due to run out at the end of the season so i obviously offered him a deal. He initially said the deal was really good and was about to sign. But PSG caught me out and ended up activating a clause in his contract to keep him there for another year. Whether that means they will want him back next season is yet to be seen.

January & February

January & February Results

View attachment 305749

Some disappointing results in January & February see my 7 point lead at the top of the Premier League cut down to 3. Knocked out of the FA Cup prematurely and on the verge of being knocked out of the Champions League. It could all still go so very very wrong. Bonazzoli is still scoring, but no where near as much as he has been the last 3 seasons. Its so frustrating that hes suddenly stopped.
Aken has been played a few times and really looks like the worst signing ive made on this save. Some real bad performances have seen him subbed off early.

Being knocked out of the FA Cup isnt too much of a disappointment for me as the League and CL are my priorities. Especially if i end up winning one of them!! Defeats to Middlesbrough and Aston Villa in the league though were particularly hard to take. For the first time on this save against Villa i had to take a deep breathe to stop myself going mad haha. We got destroyed at Villa Park. Jordan Rhodes scoring against us made it a little more annoying. We shall never forgive Roy Keane for selling him!

Premier League Table

Remaining Fixtures

View attachment 305747

The final 10 Premier League games look fairly simple as long as we regain form now for the run in!
Our next match against Chelsea could really decide the title. If we lose and go on a bad run, it will be Chelseas. If we win and go on a run, its ours. Simple as that.
Man Utd, Tottenham & Liverpool could be potential banana skins for my title surge. Progressing in the CL could harm our chances of winning the league as the games will be coming one after the other very quickly.

Still fancy my chances of winning the league. Even if we get knocked out of the CL, if we can win the League, its a massive achievement this season. Defending it next season will be very difficult though.
Depending on what the table is looking like towards the end of the season i may end update March & April together leaving my last 2 prem games in May for a the final update of this season.

MASSIVE RESULT

View attachment 305745

I think this is the first game ive actually EVER NOT made a substitution!
Massive result for us. Got to win our game in hand now as Chelsea played just a few days before this game.

Tomas Kalas who i signed on a free from Chelsea scored the goal which secured the win! Gutted if i were a Chelsea fan right now!

Season 4

The biggest game since George Burley took charge of Ipswich for a 2nd time back in July 2014 lands on his 200th game since returning to the club. Facing off against West Brom who are already relegated surely leaves Ipswich in pole position to finish off the job.

The pressure!!!! Hopefully you can get the win so you dont have to rely on chelsea to loose,
I think its been a great season wether you win the league or not.
Well done

Good luck mate, you've done brilliantly to (potentially) win the league in such a short time!

Well done that's superb. Fingers crossed for you. I haven't updated my save for a few days as been working but can't wait to get back to it and try to emulate what you have been achieving.

FINAL PREMIER LEAGUE GAME OF THE SEASON

View attachment 305628

Ipswich clinch the Premier League trophy on the final day of the season with a thrilling 6 - 1 demolition of West Brom. Cauley Woodrow finishing the season on a high and has been simply outstanding with the amount of goals he has scored and set up.

Ipswich couldnt have won the league in a more fitting way. Not only is this George Burleys 200th game since coming back to the Tractor Boys, but it was also the very last game to have been played at Portman Road. Ipswich will be due to move into their new Bobby Robson stadium for the new season and will be sad to leave a ground which has been the home of Ipswich Town since 1884. Fans flocked to bid farewell to Portman Road and thousands more waited patiently outside the ground to celebrate winning the league. A double decker bus was waiting outside the grounds ready for an instant celebration through the town centre. It had been a long 46 years since Ipswich last won the biggest prize in domestic football.
Marcus Evans the owner of Ipswich Town will be hoping this success is just the beginning as Burley looks to really make a mark in English football and make Ipswich the dominant force it once was.

The dawn of a new era has emerged though since the second coming of George Burley and moving into their new stadium for their title defending season should be amazing for the club and is a massive landmark for Ipswich.

Ipswich will be hoping everyone settles into their new surroundings quickly as they will want to pick up where they left here.

We could have won the league more comfortably, but i wouldnt have had it any other way. Fantastic way to end the season.

Since Burley come back to Portman Road in 2014 the clubs trophy cabinet has seen the Sky Bet Championship (2015) and English Premier Division (2018) fit in nicely with few of the clubs remarkable achievements in the past.

Burley will be looking to add more League trophies aswell as Domestic and European Cups.

Portman Road really became a fortress for Ipswich this season. An exceptional achievement of going unbeaten at home in the league all year. Only drawing one game which was against Brighton.

Ipswich will have been gutted to not made the Champions League Final after getting so close. But its still solid proof have how far the club has in such a short space of time.

The marquee signing for this season is Centre Back Robin Knoche. He is a real quality defender who i will be hoping fits in straight away and really helps stop us conceding as many goals.

View attachment 305605

View attachment 305604

A young striker who im hoping will fulfill his 3 and a half star potential. At 16 he can become a home grown player. If he fails to make the cut im confident of making a decent profit from him.

View attachment 305603

Carrascos loan has been extended for a 3rd season.

View attachment 305602

Tibblings loan has been extended for a 3rd season.

View attachment 305601

Grealish's contract ran out at the end of the seaon but Villa activated a clause in his contract to keep him for another year and then wouldnt loan him to me. Hes been outstanding since i loaned him in the first season so i had to make sure i kept him. He will be apart of my first team for years to come. £14m i think, is a bargain for a young upcoming, already world class, left midfielder!

View attachment 305600

Van Aken was probably the worst signing ive made on this save. I managed to sell him for what i paid so im happy.

Christophe Berra's wage at £35k seemed absolutely ridiculous at the ripe old age of 34 and couldnt warrant keeping a player on such a high wage who will probably be used very sparingly this season. He was sold to Nottm Forest for £130k.

Brilliant news and cant wait to play in the new stadium!
