Owen is good for a season at least :D Gladkyi is a good team player\target man, great team work 20 and good strength and heading!

West Ham make fourth signing

desiderionerazzurro_305517.jpg

West Ham have today completed the signing of Marek Hamsik for an undisclosed fee. The former Napoli player is rated as one of the hottest prospects in the world and is largely predicted to shine at Upton Park. we could not reach Daniel Oakes but he will be no doubt be delighted at getting his new man.

Yeah I am working on getting my Liverpool story back up to date to be honest, this will take a back seat for a week probably.

I've just read your whole story all the way through and it's a great read. I'm just about to start a West Ham story myself and will be taking a few tips from what you have done! Cheers!

Wow Dan, I thought your Liverpool story was good :S this one is amazing, good luck mounting your title challenge, but i doubt you need it, you'll do fine mate ;)

Busy Transfer period comes to an end

tomas-necid2.jpg

In a very busy transfer window, West Ham United manager Daniel Oakes has arguably been the busiest manager in the window. After signing Marek Hamsik for a large fee, he moved again to sign Wellington Silva on loan from Fluminence until the end of the season and he also moved to sign Tomas Necid from CSKA Moscow for £6.75 million.

Daniel Oakes said:
I am delighted with the moves I have made this window. It was obviously sad to see Carlton Cole leave the club after a long stint here but I believe that I have found the ideal replacement. Tomas is a great player who has been playing very well in Russia and I believe that he can bring his form over here. Marek, though is without doubt going to be a great transfer for us and I believe that he will definitely live up to his price tag.

See below for West Ham's full list of transfers.

In other big transfer news, Real Madrid signed striker Edison Cavani for £23 million and Barcelona signed defender Naldo for £22 million. The other large transfer move in England was confirmed when left back Taye Taiwo joined Chelsea from Marseille for £13.5 million.

Ferguson unleashes onslaught on West Ham manager

pro_34212_alexferguson.jpg

Here we are with breaking news here at Sky Sports and we have just had a very revealing interview with Sir Alex Ferguson about West Ham manager Daniel Oakes' approach to the tactical side of the game. Here is what Sir Alex had to say.

Sir Alex Ferguson said:
I would like to come out and say that Daniel Oakes is not as great of a manager as he seems. It appears as if he has been conferring with a tactical genius we all know as Mr Hough. I know that he has been using Mr Hough's wizard tactic and I am sure that his team could never have got a top four finish without the use of it. I reckon that if Oakes was a real manager he should use his own tactics and I believe that he will not get anywhere near that achievement again. I mean, West Ham winning an F.A. Cup, now that takes a genius. I just believe that Oakes is a fraud.

Daniel Oakes' West Ham side finished fourth place last season, two points behind Sir Alex's United.

We have just caught up with West Ham manager Daniel Oakes about these allegations and here is what he had to say.

Daniel Oakes said:
I am very upset about what Sir Alex had to say. Yes, okay, I did use Mr Hough's tactics and are indeed very good but I only used them for three months so our achievements up to the last three months are genuinely my achievements. Personally I think that Sir Alex is jealous also that he could not repeat my achievement. I have however heeded some of his words and that was before anybody said anything. This season, the tactical approach I take will be all my own. I am not giving anything away as most of the country will be watching this but I believe with the team we have, we can improve on next season and challenge for the Premier League title.

Community Shield

Chelsea just to good for Hammers

luis_suarez.jpg

On a fine day at Wembley, the Community Shield took place between Chelsea and West Ham and was quite a match for the neutrals. West Ham, the F.A. Cup winners under manager Daniel Oakes were looking to cause an upset against the reigning Premier League champions Chelsea, and they nearly did. They took the lead going into half time with a Paulo Fereira own goal but they could not hold on to the lead come the second half. Chelsea came out rampant and scored three and ended up with a 3-2 win. Luis Suarez was the man who punished West Ham's defence with two goals.

All square at Upton

marek_hamsik_gol.jpg

Just days after they met at Wembley, Daniel Oakes' West Ham side took on Chelsea once again, but this time at Upton Park. This too was a very good match which involved four goals. Young midfielder Marek Hamsik got his debut goal for the Hammers and put in a performance that is already pleasing the Hammers fans. The West Ham faithful will surely be happy with a draw and a good performance against the defending champions.

Away goal, 'Vital'

gabriel_milito.jpg

In what was West Ham's first ever UEFA Champions League game they were drawn against a tough Galatasaray side. The game kicked off very well for the English team as they scored within the first 15 minutes. This proved very vital as Shabani Nonda scored and the game finished 1-1. The away goal has to be considered very important for West Ham fans as even a goalless draw back at Upton Park could send them through to the group stages.

Hammers too good for Burnley

It has proved that the start of the season has held goals for West Ham's games, and it proved so again here. Diego Buonanotte was very impressive in this game as he helped set up two of his teams four goals and was generally faultless.

Hammers triumph in edgy encounter

20100101171_02.jpg

This was the second leg against Galatasaray and it was a very edgy encounter. The first leg arguably went in our favour as we got a 1-1 draw away in Turkey. However the tie was thrown back open after Harry Kewell scored on the half hour mark. This was when the players had to get their acts together and attack the goal, or else we were not going to get through to the group stages. Wellington Silva equalised ten minutes later for us with his first for the club and sent us into a nervy second half at one goal a piece and 2-2 on aggregate. We came out firing second half and created quite a few chances and finally converted through Dodo just ten minutes from the end. We then had to hang on nervously for the last ten minutes to ensure we got through and we just about managed it.

Soldado hammers the Tigers

imgRoberto%20Soldado1.jpg

We were back to the league after our nervy encounter against the Turks. We came back in fashion with a great win and individual performance by Roberto Soldado at the Circle. Roberto was fantastic today, putting the Tigers defence to the sword and coming away with a hattrick and a 3-1 victory for us.

Daniel Oakes said:
I am very happy with how we have started the season. I always knew that we would have a tough task getting through to the group stages with Galatasaray in our way and I am proud of the team that we just scraped through. I am obviously disappointed that we could not win the Community Shield but Chelsea are a very hard team to beat. I am delighted with how we have started in the league with two wins and a draw out of the first three games. I only hope our form can continue and I am confident we can challenge in all competitions.

Soldado is a beast, and use whatever tactics you want mate, dont listen to aaaandy, he smells funny (K)

I am actually using my own tactics and they are working really well at the moment so good news so far. Mr Hough was far too easy. It is more fun if I know I have used my own tactical knowledge or the little I have of it.

Hammers given challenging group
Europa-League-Draw.jpg

In the group draw that was done earlier today, West Ham have been drawn into a tricky group in the Champions League for this season. After beating Galatasaray in a tense affair it was hoped that the Hammers would be given a confortable enough group but there hopes were shattered. It is already known that West ham will face Real Madrid in the group but we do not know who the other two teams will be yet. The teams to follow up West Ham in the group draw were Fenerbahce and Dinamo Bucharest.

Daniel Oakes said:
Although we have been drawn in a group alongside Real Madrid, I believe we are more than capable of qualifying from this group. Fenerbahce are a good team but like their fellow Turks that we recently defeated, they are very beatable. Dinamo Bucharest are not a bad team but they are a team we really should be beating, both home and away. Altogether, I am confident of qualifying.
