Belgium have released new kits to kick in their World Cup 2014 campaign in Brazil. The home kit is a lovely dark red colour with yellow trim. The away is beatiful, light and bubbly and the third is a bit different. Belgium have gone with a blue third kit rather than the usual black third kits. Big thanks to kit designer Mike Dale for making the kits for the Belgium national team.

Group A

Mirallas strikes to give Belgium a shocking victory

A 16th minute strike from Kevin Mirallas was enough to give Belgium a fantastic win over France. The French were hot favourites for the game but a lacklustre performance by them gave Belgium the chance to take the game and they did.

Boring game ends in a stalemate

Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera was the best player on the pitch in a poor game in Brazil tonight. The Goalkeeper did everything that was asked of him by keeping Belgium out on many occasions.

Vintage Performance ensures qualification

Belgium achieved qualification through to the 2nd round with a very good performance against Guinea. Goals from Kevin Mirallas and Eden Hazard gave Belgium the win that put them top of the group and so far unbeaten in this years World Cup.

Group A Table

After three games played by each team in Group A, Belgium go through as winners after two wins and a draw and they will now face Ukraine in the Second Round. France qualify in second and face off against Paraguay in the next round.

I am delighted with my boys as they have done what I knew they could do. I am absolutely ecstatic with the win over France and topping the group is fantastic. I believe we have the talent to go all the way.

World Cup 2014

2nd Round

Belgium impress as they advance past Ukraine

Daniel Oakes' Belgium side were in top form today as they brushed aside Ukraine. Goals from Kevin Mirallas and Radja Nainggolan sent Belgium through to the quarter final to take on Croatia.

Quarter Final

Belgium advance through after eight goal thriller

It took extra time to seperate Belgium and Croatia. After 90 minutes the scores were level at 3-3 in a fantastic match. Goals from Mirallas and a Nainggolan brace was not enough at this point. Goals in extra time from Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard booked Belgium a semi final date with Holland.

Semi Final

Brave Belgium crash out to stubborn Holland

For many who watched the game, Belgium appeared the better side in this World Cup semi final tonight. However Dutch goalkeeper Piet Velthuizen had a cracker of a game and managed to keep them out. Holland went on to win the game with goals from Dirk Kuyt and Serge Schenkel. Belgium could count themselves very unlucky.

Third Place Playoff

Portugal grab third place as Belgium are brushed aside

Goals from Bruno Alves, Fernando and Hugo Almeida gave Portugal a 3-1 victory in this playoff and led them to third place. The Belgium side looked tired and Portugal took advantage of them with a vintage performance.

I am very pleased with our World Cup performance this year. Our main highlight ended up being the victory over the eventual champions in the first game but reaching the Semi Finals was fantastic for this nation. I am a little disappointed to not grab third place but semi finals is a great achievement. I am delighted with Radja Nainggolan's performance throughout the competition.

Belgium rise from 42nd to 12th in the World Rankings
