Absolute top class tactic JP :D Just beat Aston Villa 4-0 at home with West Ham, game was over within 26 minutes when I scored my 4th :P Well done mate. Also your Long Ball Wimbledon tactic would definetly interest me if you were to create one, sounds like it would probably be useful for LLM :)
EDIT: Also JP, if you were interested no OI's were used in that match which makes it even more impressive really :) Jiminez who is playing in the ACM role has got 4 assists so far in 3 league games, and Cole has scored 4 league goals in 3 league game, working really well :) The ACM seems to be the absolute key

JP,

this is my first post, sorry may i call you JP?

my question is this, i have started managing Torquay and i am struggling with them, they dont give me enough money to sign any half decent players and i am struggling on the best suited tactic for the team.

would this tactic work for this team? or could you point me to a good tactic for lower league teams.

at the moment i have Torquay 20th place 2 wins 6 draws and 3 loses dissapointing stuff

at the moment the board seem happy but i am sure that will change if i dip any lower

hope you can help

Simon

Well i created this tactic with gifted players in mind but that doesn't mean it wont work.I think it would certainly get you results at home, away may be a toss of a coin.If you get into a lead during the match change the strategy to contain,if you can string a few results together then confidence will build and winning will become more frequent.

thanks will give it a try and see what happens, if you come up with a good lower league tactic please let me know

jp mate will this work with newcastle
Ive used it with Boro and Liverpool and it worked with both so probably. You need a good AM.

Let me know how it does, give it 10 games or so.

I'll carry on trying this tactic with west ham tomorrow :)

just tried it in a league game against portvale away from home and i won 2-1 not had a win in ages nice one

my team seemed to have lots of possesion but didnt seem to be able to finish the job went 1 nil down in the second half then got a goal with in seconds of them scoring then managed to get a late winner

i didnt change to defencesive just went with the starting tactic that you set

will give it more games but it looked good, one thing though my midfielders were knackered towards the end of the match all on 67% i guess thats because they are not as fit as premiership players lol

will keep you posted

I've give it a whirl and so far i've had draws and 2 defeats. I've only managed one goal in open play too. That isn't to say its the tactics fault, i'm not getting trounced, its just Wolves are very VERY uncreative and bad technically when you start with them.

Ive decided to give AFC Wimbledon a bash. I'm going to try and emulate the old Wimbledon side of the 1980s and work my way up the football pyramid using unfashionable boring yet effective anti football tactics, the dreaded Long Ball.

Good luck if you get a good one I will use it on my Stoke save they have the height for it!

ive been testing the "perfect treble tactic" using Burnley with no purchases or sales (i figured that was the best way to get a fair assesment of the tactic), and made it to late october with only 2 wins, so im having a quick switchover to this tactic, changing it from attacking to counter, and i'll post back how i get on

7 games, 2 losses (a drubbing by tottenham, and a narrow loss to everton), 3 draws, and 2 wins against blackburn, and man city.

seems this tactic would be a good bet to secure safety with a team of burnleys stature (which is quite a feat)

will it work if i change the full backs role to wing backs and wingers role to inside forwards?

Just downloaded this tactic for the last 2 games of the season, had nothing to play for so thought might as well give it a go.

Draw 0-0 at home to Ipswich in the first game. Didn't really think to much of the tactic, after all it was only the first time of using.

Second game was Leyton Orient away. 2-1 with 20 minutes left, changed from defensive to overload and scored twice in last 8 minutes to win 3-2, happy days.

Will report back with a far more extensive test once the new season starts.

great tactic jp woody wont work with southampton because i played 4-5-1 very physical football and they wont adapt to it, but i will have a bash with my new file hartlepool so wish me luck, you are the best tactic maker by far and i hope your dreaded tony pulis and:) wimbledon long ball tactics work

From the sounds of things, this tactic is really effective provided you have a creative and physically fit AMF, so I might give this a try when my FM2010 arrives on Tuesday (can't wait! <)).

If you manage to hit the nail on the head with your Wimbledon1980s tactics, then I'd be proper happy - my aim is to try and take my created team from BSN or BSP to the Premiership, and I'm guessing I'd have to use the long ball tactics plenty of times before I can consolidate in a league to the extent where I can actually try and play some attractive football.

Cheers for the tactics man.

By the way, just a quick question - in your screenshots, you've got the official kits and licensed team and league badges. I was just wondering if they were in the default game courtesy of SI, or whether you downloaded them and installed them?

jp, noticed from your screenshots that gerrard is performing better than torres in terms of goals and assists. what could i change to make torres score more goals? change his role to advanced forward?

I dont know, why dont you give it a bash,im still finding my way like everyone else ith the new tatic sytem.

Torres still got 33 goals for me which is a very healthy return.Im not sure what you could do,it wasn't a case of Torres under performing, more a case of Gerrard over performing.

using this tactic i finished 3rd in the league with chelsea and won the league cup and champions league trashing the likes of ac milan and barca and beating inter in the final for 4-1.
