I'm thinking about testing this tactic with another team because in Hercules it's honestly getting easy. But I got tired playing a 'weaker' team so gonna play a season with a good team for a while (so I can see good statistics for a while).

and then start a new game with a weak team again for testing. :P

Used these tactics for Ipswich. Not the strongest team in the leauge but i'm top half way through the first season. I've tweeked quite a bit but it seems to work quite well; my team is over-performing, only lost 3 in 25 but lost two of them 5-0!
 
@Koflok: Yeah, Vargas is a pure winger, running like ****, dribbling like **** and crossing like **** :p Gotta say that him + Gilardino is a great combo.

Ill be sure to set the pitch to minimum at the beginning of next season.

We also got -2 in the beginning of the season. :( Lots of Dutch teams got that tbh, MVV -7. XD

You ask, I deliver :D

I'm playing a network-game against a friend (I'm Real Madrid, against his Barcelona).

As it should be, I also had to make various tweaks for my team. Of course some of them where placed here (tight marking for CB, tackling for FB). I chose for a little more "attacking" defensive style. I don't like big gaps between my defensive line, midfield & attack.

In my game, crossing doesn't seem to make any difference, but probably it's because of the intelligence of the squad

Tempo is something I like to switch every game.. Against bad teams it seems like it works well when I put it more fast than against teams that are "top".

About time wasting: it looks like it works great when I tell my team to do it more often. They are doing more with the opportunities.

The only thing that bothers me a little bit is the lack of ball possession.. My team does good things WHEN we have the ball, but I think we should have more to play even better.

As for results: I'm topping the table with 22G 20W 0D 2L, and reaching the CL 1/8 finals, and spanish cup final. Higuain is great as ST with 20 matches played and 22 goals
 
This is going to be harder than I thought initially, lol.

6 clear cut chances, vs 2! Lost the game with 4-1, can't believe it. There's no budget or whatsoever, so can't even sign free players.. :(

i tried it with chelsea 2nd season

You should definitely let your team get used to the tactic and tweak it regarding your players. ;)
 
Alright, we're starting to play better as the team gets comfortable playing like this. Results are really wide spread (few big wins, few big losses). Anyway, here's the league table so far:

The tactic is working quite well for me and my Fredrikstad FK team atm
Currently in first place and hopefully ready for promotion to the Premier Division with 8 games left of the season,and I'm in the semi-final in the Norwegian Cup.

Sure my team is/was one of the expected favourites for promotion,but still,my players aren't exactly world class and I had no money at all for new players,except for a few free ones.

The only tweaks I have done are the defencive marking ones,adjust the backline up two notches to normal
and set the mentality to standard.

sorry i cant show u a picture im playing on my friends laptop but i just had another game at home to birmingham and lost 0-2 idk why it is not working for me i have arda turan and joe cole on the sides torres up there and gerrard plus miereles in the middle
 
Hey Guys!

Love last years version of this tactic... but really struggling to score this year! Im Man Utd and both Rooney and Hernandez cannot score for toffee. I have bought Thomas Muller and he is also turning out the same way. It's like sticking a lamp post up front at the moment... nothings happening. I have Nani and Giuliano on the wings and they seem intent on floating in crosses when I have said to drill them. My wingers are never there either when im defending and I struggle to keep possesion. My defence is more than happy to play catchup to opponent strikers. I think i just need some help...

I have read the tweaks but still more of the same.

Love the tactic so will keep at it.. advice appreciated.
 
OK good tactic I have made changes to improve defence, gain more possession while still scoring the goals which the tac is all about!

FB-automatic-tackling-normal-close down own half only

CB-Close down own area only-defensive minded

DM-Close down own half only

CM-No changes

RW/LW-Drill crosses-long shots sometimes

Whole Team
Move up defensive line to normal
Team a little wider
Not lost since!!
