Struggling
constantly with Q.P.R. in first season of EPL.
Most of the goals i conceded comes from crosses by line. I prevented some of these by focusing to "defensive positioning" on match preparation. But still there are
huge amounts of crosses that endangers my defence horribly. Backs (or in some cases
with CB's) are just incapable to prevent crosses from the opposition winger. They keep following the winger to the line -
at the same alignment- (so its not about speed, right?) and then the winger, just before passing the goal line, crosses just behind of the full back's spine, without stopping without changing used foot. Feels like its about marking, but 12-13 marking ratings isn't that bad, huh? Even Evra's is 14-15. Maybe it's mental? Or not attributes related? Can there be a reason i hadn't thought of?
I also concede from corners, set pieces... prevented some of those by focusing "defending set pieces", but most of the time it is still disturbingly dangerous. Also, if i chose one of these focusing areas, the other one would still stay being a danger. So what to do?
I concede sometimes through through balls, but it's not very frequent. And it's understandable when happens. In the end, it
is talented wonders who i play against, right?
Here is my disastrous results:
I thought when i promoted to EPL, i could easily stay above "last three" by winning around ten games or so, or even stay around mid-table for the first year, but now i passed a quarter of the league and all i got is
one win and
two draws. It feels like it won't be that easy. I felt really hopeful after i exterminated Bolton, with a 4-1 score, as seen above, but I'm not sure if the team can play again like that.
Here are the details of some of the matches:
Fine results against Cardiff, Blackburn, Barnsley and Bolton:
Bad ones against Stoke, Villa, West Ham:
And my squad:
My striker is a beast. He's poor at air but other than that he is perfect. I, most of the time, use Richardson on the left when he's fit and not injured. Can use both foot fairly good, fast enough, only a bit bad when it comes to finishing in his place on this tactic. Right wing is more complicated. I used mostly Jason Puncheon "Left only" footed, his Right foot is "Weak". Tried Dj Campbell in couple games, who uses both foot good and good finisher, he seemed he'd fit better to this tactic, but his Crossing and Technique is worse. So i thought Puncheon is better. My middle is the most powerful side of the team. Agyei is a wonderful DMC, only rented but has the option to buy for 7M. Cairney and Faurlin, as MCL and MCR, are very talented players. I also use Jordi Gomez frequently as a part of the rotation system, he's also very good, and i have Elano and Juan Arango as old and slow but talented players. Actually signed them to play them in first eleven as AML/R's, but they were nowhere near in the game, due to speed? So i figured speed is to be more important. I won't say much else about the defence, here's the back four:
