El Clasico this weekend, Madrid go into it basically 6 points clear and all of the pressure is on Barcelona.
Key factor this time has to be Real are the team in form, and close to perfect squad fitness, with a new style of back-front football that's played at a very high tempo. Saying that, at the weekend vs Gijon tempers did boil over on the bench again, perhaps the preparation is just as intense as ever but Mourinho is keeping it more in house.
I think this will be a classic clasico for the right reasons this time, going 2-2.
Vela's impressive loan spell at Sociedad continued at the weekend as well, superb goal.

Also Falcao returned for Atleti, suddenly Atleti look like top 3 contenders again. The question for me is between what Valencia have behind Soldado (Jonas, Aduriz, Alcacer, Piatti) and what Atleti have behind Falcao (Adrian, Reyes and...ummm...) that of those 2 absolute key players which team can afford to play 3-4 games without either one. The answer is probably Valencia have the better depth.
Manzano has built the entire attacking line's around Falcao, putting Adrian or Pizzi there just doesn't have anywhere near the same quality of build up play. Ruben Baraja will take over within the next 2 seasons as Atleti manager, probably in the 13/14 season, so long term I have no major concerns. But Manzano has been tasked with dislodging Valencia, and he is failing.
Looks like Betis are sticking with Mel, the right call in my opinion, the question over who is the next Villareal manager intrigues me. I personally think they will not recruit from within and they will go for Laudrup or Quique.
As for Unai Emery, the result at Chelsea tonight piles pressure on him. Surprisingly the Valencia board are not happy with a stable 3rd place, they want more. But of course they're sane enough to know they can't win La Liga at the moment, so they just task Emery with Champions League semi finals... That's realistic.
I'm not going to try and predict what will happen to Emery, all I do know is if they do let him go plenty of clubs will want him.
