Linecoigne's FIFA World League - a Chairman game

I'm not complaining, just trying to work out why! the tv deal perk would be a bit silly.. because I would just say.. £1000000000000000000000000000 :p
Hahaha no I mean we'd have to find a common ground between all chairmen and for example if Barcelona and Real Madrid have such huge TV deals then give them less as part of that perk but more to the other teams. Idk, just an idea. It's true that this whole TV money is a bit weird considering when I edited the database, it was set to 20 million for all teams so idk.

Bayern still close to top but not getting there.. I don't want to finish on same points and on 2nd again!!!!

By the way, half of my squad is still unhappy because of a lack of European football...

Bayern Season Report

It has been good so far for a Bayern side still in with a shot at the FWL Title. After losing the last season's title on goal difference, it was decided that no major shake-up was needed.

The board gave Pep all the authority in transfers. Felipe Anderson and Gabriel Barbossa were the biggest signings, Anderson bought from Lazio for over 20 Million, and Barbossa coming from Santos for over 25. After scoring 14 goals in 37 games for Lazio, it was the perfect step up for Anderson, whereas Barbossa is more for the future.

In terms of outgo, Joshua Kimmich was sold to Barcelona and Arjen Robben was off to PSG.

Season So far:

2 losses in FWL so far, one away to Barcelona and one at home to Chelsea, both probably deserved.

Highlights have been defeats of Juventus away, and stopping Manchester United's run at Old Trafford by beating them 2-1.

Disappointing performance so far has been the loss to Chelsea at home.

With just 1 point away from top, we need to make sure we do not slow down.

Standout performer: Phillip Lahm
Final season for the Bayern legend and he shows that he can still cut it at the top.

Breakthrough season: Gabriel Barbossa
Although an expansive signing, he was not expected to make any impact and was in the squad more for experience. A return of 5 goals in 6 games shows that he can expect more action this season itself.

Room for improvement:Arturo Vidal
With an exceptional season last year, Vidal was expected to kick on this season, but he has failed to make a single start this season. Rumors of breaking out with Pep are rife.

Bayern Transfer List:

Arturo Vidal: 40 M
Sebastian Rode: 7.5 M
Nemanja Radoja: 7.5 M
Douglas Costa: 15 M
Rafinha: Free
Frank Ribery: Free

Arsenal Update

View attachment 151737

Arsene Wenger retired at the top having just won a domestic double. He was replaced by Marcelo Gallardo and so far it's proved to be a poor decision. The form so far this season has been poor.

Current season highlights include the opening day win against Chelsea and the World League Super Cup triumph against Bayern. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has started this season well but the form of other players has been a massive concern.

The current 3 match losing streak needs to be rectified quickly if Arsenal are to retain their title.

Ron Weasley has today released a list of players surplus to requirements. Please message me if interested.

Paris Saint-Germain club statement:

View attachment 151622
Today, the club has announced that manager Laurent Blanc has been sacked with immediate effect. The French legend managed a somewhat decent run in November but it wasn't enough for the PSG chairman as he will pay the former centre-back 6.4 million pounds in compensation. Bernard Arnault has opted for a big name to replace him who left a big European club not too long ago and was therefore a free agent:

Dutch legend Louis Van Gaal has taken over at the club immediately and will have his first game in charge against Arsenal on the 1st of December 2016 as he'll be hoping to take the French giants to the next level and hopefully higher up the table after an awful start to the season.

Matchday 13

View attachment 151618View attachment 151617

The first Madrid derby came today on matchday 13 as Real Madrid lost 2-1 at the Vicente Calderon. Sevilla got an impressive victory against Bayern away from home and Barcelona managed the same against Inter. Valencia and Manchester City drew 1-1 in a disappointing game, just like Leverkusen and Chelsea as well as Corinthians and Tottenham as the Brazilian side got a last minute equaliser. Dortmund and Manchester United drew 2-2 as well as Lukaku saved the Red Devils a point. Finally, PSG got an impressive win against Arsenal as Sane scored one of his first goals for the club and Sanchez's and Oxlade-Chamberlain's efforts were cancelled out by 2 goals from Cavani.

Arsenal continued their winless run following a loss to PSG by drawing against Real Madrid whilst Benfica won 3-1 against Benfica to continue their chase of Juventus at the top of the table.

Matchday 14

View attachment 151613

With Juventus and Barcelona set to play their game in hand in early January, matchday 14 was full of surprises as Chelsea lost to Inter, Tottenham lost to Bayern and Manchester United lost to PSG. Sevilla made Leverkusen's season even worse as they beat them 2-1 at home and Arsenal's winless run became even longer as they drew with Benfica. Dortmund continued their amazing run as they beat Atletico 1-0 and Manchester City could only draw 1-1 with Corinthians, who stay at the bottom of the table.

As we get closer to the end of the year, Arsenal have finally won after Alexis Sanchez finally scored the goal that gifts the Gunners all 3 points against Barcelona whilst Dortmund couldn't win against Valencia, with the Spanish side scoring a late equaliser. Manchester United's Higuain continued his amazing form under Villas-Boas as he scored twice to give Manchester United a good win against Benfica and Chelsea scored 3 times in 11 minutes to get a 3-2 win against Sevilla. Leverkusen and Tottenham drew 1-1 as the battle for safety intensifies and Juventus couldn't build a gap at the top of the table by drawing 2-2 with Inter. Real Madrid won again as they beat Corinthians easily and Bayern drew 1-1 with Manchester City. PSG's good run came to an end as Atletico scored a goal in the last minute to clinch victory and hope to climb up the table.

Matchday 16

A great end to 2016 for the likes of PSG, Arsenal and Manchester City as they all won respectively against Valencia (3-1), Inter (3-1) and Leverkusen (2-0). Tottenham also managed a 2-0 win against Sevilla and Benfica's 76th minute goal secured them a win against Atletico as the Spanish side's season doesn't get any better. Real Madrid played Bayern in the biggest game of the matchday but the occasion disappointed as it ended 1-1. Juventus got all 3 points against Chelsea and Manchester United also impressed against Barcelona, grabbing 3 goals to secure a 3-2 win with a brace from Higuain. Corinthians managed the impossible as they got a win against Dortmund in what was the biggest surprise of the matchday.

A great rest of the season awaits now as Juventus stay top of the table but Manchester United and Barcelona will keep fighting for the title that's for sure. Valencia, Corinthians and Leverkusen are the main contenders for relegation as of right now but Sevilla or Inter are definitely still in the hat. Benfica are also not looking as good as they did before but we've seen some great improvements from PSG and Real Madrid as both teams slowly climb the table. Arsenal and Atletico also seem to be making their way back up the table as Manchester City and Dortmund prove to be the surprise packages this season. A really exciting rest of season awaits!

Welp, that deteriorated quickly... should've been comfortably clear at the top. Still, the Juve-Barca game will be massive!

Completely missed the deadline! Guess I can't improve my chances after all :p

We have the defence of a brick wall, but the attack has been diabolical. -.-

Improving though!

Uh oh!! I am on holiday so can only get on at the bar. Will jump in as much as I can. Come
on Benfica!

Rupert Grint made big moves in the winter transfer window. He spent over £70m bringing in some young talent for the future.

Just over £36m was spent on winger/forward Breel Embolo to bring him from Basel - it would appear that new manager Marcelo Gallardo does not see a future for the likes of Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck.

Another young winger was signed in the shape of Pione Sisto, an exciting Danish player.

Young Brazilian forward Malcom was signed for £15m from Bordeaux to complete the signings.

The results were much better for the gunners despite losing the first game of December 3-2 to PSG

Gallardo will now be looking to guide his team into the top 6 and hopefully push to retain the title.
