Kalou was the worst.
Playing left wing he was killing the system and every time people overlapped him (At one point 3 runners overlapped into space down the wing) instead of being clever and playing a reverse pass he played backwards.
Problems have started when the balls played up front, either Torres is too isolated or the midfield are making it so narrow it's impossible to find space.
Any time width has been created/stuck to the crosses going in haven't been finding Torres but a late midfield runner like Ramires.
Kalou wasn't unlucky, he was terrible (again). Anelka has hardly been amazing but he's showed more than Kalou, need the midfield to get in support of Torres faster and we need the full backs/wingers to stay wide alot more.
Going narrow vs Hodgsons 442 essentially is asking for your players to run into trouble, it's doubling up/low pressing counter attacking stuff that Kalou just feeds right into. Need genuine wide players to stretch out the full backs/wide mids on Bromfica creating more channels for midfielders/Torres to run in.
The next problem is finding a player capable of finding those passes in the channels for Torres/Anelka...
