The most attractive vacancy in English football right now is Liverpool F.C.
A truly global club with over 100 million fans world wide. Liverpool is also
recognized as the most successful English club in Europe, having won 5
European cups. The most recent of which was a the now legendary 2005
final in Istanbul vs A.C. Milan.

Liverpool play their home games in the iconic Anfield road Stadium and have done so since the clubs
founding in 1892. Anfield currently seats 42,276 but is being expanded to accommodate 54,000.

The World famous Kirby Academe is a major attraction having been described by Pep Guardiola as one of the world’s best, only behind Barcelona’s famed La Masia. Liverpool once stood proud among the world’s best academies, rivaling the likes of Ajax in the 70’s and 80’s and has produced some of England best known names: including Phil Thompson, Tommy Smith, Terry McDermott, Ian Callaghan, Jimmy Case, Steve Mc’Mannaman, Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen, Jamie Carragher and arguably the greatest player to ever
play for Liverpool: Club captain, Steven Gerrard.

Which is why when John Henry and Tom Werner announced they would be holding a
press conference today at noon to announce the next Manager of Liverpool, the nation
took notice.

I took my first training session with Liverpool today and had an opportunity
to see the players up close and personal. I've got quite a talented squad though
there is an issue with their ability: Their best days are either behind or ahead of them!

The likes of Steven Gerrard, Kolo Touré and Brad Jones are in the twilight of their
careers and are slowly in decline. They will not be able to produce the same heroics,
especially from Steven Gerrard, that we have become accustomed to seeing

View attachment 331510

The opposite could be said for quite a few members of the squad. Raheem Sterling and
Coutinho's
performances last season elevated them firmly into the
first team but they still have a lot of potential to fulfill.

View attachment 331509
We have a very good goalkeeper in Simon Mignolet however he lacks that
dominating and verbal presence in the box to truly allow him to be labeled as
world class. I'll be spending a lot of time on the training ground helping him become
more vocal and use his good handling skills to come claim crosses. A back line defends
as a unit so Mignolet needs to become more pronounced and make himself known.

View attachment 331508
I did notice that Mignolet has good positioning, Agility, One-on-ones and Concentration,
these attributes are clear to see after 30 minutes on the training ground so I decided to
do a little experiment: I had Raheem Sterling stand at to the corner flag, take the ball
into the box and try to dribble around Mignolet: scoring into the far post. The results confirmed
what I thought, he has the footwork and concentration required to stop shots at close range.
Against the skillful forwards of Manchester City and Chelsea, this could be invaluable since they
like to go one-on-one

View attachment 331507
A player I am quite excited about is Jasús Joaquíne Fernández Sáez de al Torre...
better known as Suso

View attachment 331506
The boy has an exceptional Left foot. Skillful with technique as good as any player in
the Premier League, with proper guidance, this kid could be absolutely world class.
Suso, Sterling and Coutinho is a trio I'll be looking to culture and grow into a
feared midfield unit.

Cracking story mate will definitely follow.

Backroom Staff

At the top of the Clubs structure is American Sports Company
Fenway Sports Group
View attachment 331453
Chaired by Tom Werner, he essentially has the final say and is the man in charge with the continued
existence and growth of Liverpool Football Club as a brand.

Liverpool has quite a large and experienced backroom staff. The club is
broken into 5 divisions, each tasked with looking after their specific areas of
the football club

The 5 Departments are
Senior Management
First team
Kirkby Academe
Fitness and Physiology
Scouting

Senior Management

Senior Management answers to The Chairman and runs
the other 4 Departments. Senior Management is
comprised of the following roles.

View attachment 331452
View attachment 331451

First Team
First team Department is in charge of training and
administration of all first team activities.

View attachment 331447
Kirkby Academe

Kirckby is Liverpool's world famous Youth academe.
This department is similar to the First Team Department but
they focus on the youth teams.

View attachment 331446
We are very understaffed at Melwood so finding youth staff is a priority.

Fitness and Physiology
This department is responsible for building fitness int he gym and
bringing players back to full fitness after injury.

View attachment 331445

Scouting

This department is responsible for establishing and maintain
our scouting network and identifying transfer targets for the Senior
and Youth teams.

View attachment 331444

A common theme in my backroom staff is their short contracts, many of which
run out at the end of the season. I will be bringing in some of my own staff
but allowing the existing staff to see out their contracts to save the clubs saying
termination fees.

The 5 Year Plan

I've had time to assess the club and decided where we go from here.
We rank #2 in the league for the quality of our passing however with
an average height of only 5'11", I'm going to have to work hard to
avoid conceding set pieces. We have one of the youngest squads in
the league with an average age of only 21 so most of our long term
investment is already taken care of.

Year One: 2014/15

I'm aiming for a 3rd place finish in response to finishing 2nd last season.
I'll be looking for a FA Cup Semi-final appearance and progression to the
1st knockout round of the Champions League. I'm reluctant to be too ambitions
since this is almost a new team but without their star forward. We will to a degree
have to reinvent ourselves and find our identity again.

Year Two: 2015/16
Once again, I'm aiming for 3rd place however it's in the cups where I'm
hoping for progression. I want another Semi-Final FA Cup appearance but
I'm targeting the League Cup and will be fielding strong teams to do so.
I'll be keeping a close eye on Kirkby and giving runs in the FA Cup to anyone
who impresses in the U19 Elite Development League. Once again, another 1st
knockout round in the Champions League is the aim.

Year Three: 2016/17
I want us to now be in a position to push on for a title challenge. 2nd place
would not be a bad finish for us but I want to be in contention to win the League.
The FA Cup will be a target as well as I try to promote a winning culture in the club.
I'll restore the League cup to being a development cup and testing youth players
against lower league opposition. The Champions League will be of higher importance
now, a Quarter Final place is the target this season.

Year Four: 2017/18

I want to try push for upgrading the Facilities this season and forming a few
commercial deals as I look to grow the brand. There needs to be a marketable
product in play for commercial sponsors to bite so good performances on the filed
very important. A treble might be an ambitious target, but I'd like to be in a position
for a realistic bis to win a European Cup, FA Cup and League Title.

Year Five: 2018/19
With the extension to Anfield complete, we'll have a stadium of 58,000 to play in,
this increased revenue combined with the sponsorship deals and 5 years worth of
UEFA Champions League Appearance money should put us in an extremely stable finaicial
position to be able to invest heavily int he squad to compliment our youth graduates.

Pre Season
View attachment 331432
WE open the 2014/15 season with a trip to Amsterdam. Somewhat fitting
that first game will be against my previous club. We then fly east for a shot
tour of Germany and then a game in Anfield against Bayern Munchen.
Our final tour of the pre-season will see us fly to Japan where we take
some of the best J-league sides in 4 games around the country.

2014/15 Premier League Fixture List
View attachment 331429
Similar to last season, we travel to the big sides int he first half of the season
so if we can make Anfield a fortress, a high table finish a distinct possibility.

View attachment 331428
I haven't even had the chance to see him in a friendly yet. He's going to be out
for most of the build up so I'll have to slowly introduce him and give him
game time with the U21s to get match fit. Disappointed as he is easily the best
layer at the club!

View attachment 331385
Any fears I had about my striking option with both Balotelli and Sturridge injured
were settled in our trip to Ajax where Fabio Borini stepped up to the plate and
lay down a serious marker for first team football.

View attachment 331384View attachment 331378

The young Italian had been largely expected by fan groups to leave the club
this summer but injuries to our first and second choice strikers game him a chance
to shine and by god, he answered.

Back at melwood, I met up with the Head of Fitness and Physiology Matt Konopinski
to get an update on our injured players. He seemed largely positive about their progress
and said they should be back just in time for the start of the season.

Just one in and one out form the looks of it. I've identified Kevin Volland as a target
since he's an excellent utility player. He can play effectively anywhere in the front line
as well as providing striker cover to the front men.

Hist two PPM's "Moves into Channels" and "cuts inside" and 18 work-rate makes
him a dangerous option on the wing both going forward and defensively.

Voland has already publicly stated his interest in joining us and has even rejected
a contract offer from Real Madrid. I'm jut trying to negotiate a fee with Hoffenheim:
I'm refusing to pay more than £17M for him

He'll turn 22 this months but having already won a German Cap, the future
is bright for this kid.

The player on the other side is Lucas Levia. With the arrival of Emre Can,
game time looks limited for the long serving Brazilian. He's done well to come
back form injury but with interest form Athletico Madrid coming in, Lucas came
to my office asking permission to leave should a bid come in. I accepted.

Our tour of Germany went fairly well with good results. We went 3 games without
conceding and scored 9 goals in 5 games. Some great performances and certainly
something to think about come the Opening fixture in Old Trafford.

The surprise of the bunch was young welsh winger, Harry Wilson scoring
the decisive goal against Dresden. He took up a great position on the right
before laching onto Coutinho's thru-ball before firing it in by the far post.

View attachment 331256
Rickie Lambert has made a good start to life at Liverpool. His Work Rate, Passing
Strength
make him an amazing Deep Lying Forward as he links up with Sterling and
Markovic really well. He showed that he still has a big game appetite as he scored
our goal against B.Munchen

View attachment 331255

We all know this kid is the next big thing! His pace is sensational, his touch is deft
and his vision is far beyond his years. So far in 7 pre-season games he's scored 3 and
set up 3. I personally see a little bit of Thierry Henry on him and I'm planning on
eventually moving him in field to pair with Sturridge.

Next up is the Japanese leg our our Pre-Seaon Tour.
Balotelli is fit again so I'll get to see how he dose leading the line.
