2016/17 Sees us open the season at Carrow Road.
Swansea and Newcastle are teams who've given me
trouble in the past so it's a good opening 3 games to
test out my new look midfield.

Both sides really wanted this one, attacking from the off. It was an epic of a spectacle to
watch but I had my head in my hands curing our defenders luck (even though they both finished
with high ratings). Suso, Isco and Coutinho behind Sturridge looks lethal!

View attachment 319977
We simply dominated. Swansea never got into this game.

View attachment 319975
Howedes had a terrible game and was at fault for both the goals.
Still, Coutinho and Sterling getting up to usual tricks and saved a point.

Off to a good start though conceding 6 goals is a worry at this early stage.
I'll look working on our Defensive positing soon and try sure up at the back.

A nice way to start off the 1st month and what a win there against Man United and well done to Simpson for becoming the youngest scorer! will he feature more and more in your team this season?

He'll be 17 soon so I might include him in the match day squads. If he dose well in his U21 games he'll make the move up to the bench for the Europa League and see how he fairs there but I don't want to rush him. He's a 5* PA striker so I'm keen to let him develop at his own pace and not rush him.

What formation do you play with brendn???

This is what I'm playing around with at the moment. The magic comes from Coutinho dropping deep and Isco driving forward. Sterling and Suso cut in; bringing the full backs with them and Manquillo and Kolarov are free to take the ball ont he overlap. Henderson is there to chase everything and anything while Romero is my water carrier; linking Midfield and Defence, and covering the back two when the Wing Backs drive forward. Mingolet plays as a Sweeper Keeper since I've told the boys to play a high line and the Attack duty is to move his starting position to just outside the box so he won't get caught off guard to a counter-long ball.

If I'm playing Sterling on the left or right wing, what's his best role?

It depends. What do you want him to do? What is your plan for him in your attack since that decides what his role will be in the position.

Ideally I would like him to both score and assist goals, I would defiantly want him to be one of my most attacking minded players.

This is his return with me. Not the best
I've seen but he's been a great team player

If the opposition FB/CBs aren't quick, I play him as a IF on the Left since he can run rings around
them and get into goalscoring positions. But for Assisting, he plays very well as a Winger on the right.

If you're playing him as a winger, make sure the opposing Full Back doesn't have good marking or he'll
be played out of the game. I think he plays best as a IF(s) on the Left side but that's because of
the system I'm put into place where I want my wide men to pull inside for a F9 to feed them thru-balls.

Now that Simpson has turned 17, he can train full time. We should start seeing
a huge increase in his stats over the next two years since he has access to my
senior coachign staff.

United, Spurs, Lille and Wolfsburg make this a highly competitive month
with valuable points at stake. My team has an eye for goal at the moment
to I'm expecting good returns this September.

5-1.... I've said all I need to say :P

View attachment 319931
A great opening game to this 2016/17 Europa League. Once again, I'm looking to win
it though I hope to not have to rely on it for a Champions League place like last season.

View attachment 319930
I was quite disappointed with Lovren and Howedes and Gerrard; both centre backs giving away penalties,
Lovren scoring an own goal and Gerrard gettign himself sent off early in the first half. Still, I was very
proud of the boys for coming away with a draw. We had no right to get anything out of this game.
Suso deserves a mention with his hat-trick. We would have lost this game if it wasn't for him.

View attachment 319929
Derby simply couldn't cope with us going forward. Young Simpson scored his 2nd goal
in 3 games for us. I'm quite happy with him.

View attachment 319928
I gave Khune his first Premier League start since I was unhappy with the high amount of
goals we were conceding. Mignolet is an exceptional shot stopper but his command of the
goal area is not his strong suit. Khune came in a done very well, even saving a penalty.
Sturridge popped us and maintained our unbeaten start to the season.

View attachment 319927
Giovinco wasn't having much luck in front of goal so I brought on Sturridge and he scored with
his first touch. The boy is a machine for me this season! :P

A very solid start to the season. Scoring for fun but we need to stop conceding
so many. Our game in hand could see us go top after 7 games.

View attachment 319924View attachment 319923
two for two and averaging 3 goals a game. No complaints here. I'm glad for the challenge
as the Europa League can be boring in the Group stages; the quality at this level is far
below Liverpool to be fair.

A Manchester Derby is the pick of the Capital One Cup 4th round
but an away tie to Cardiff shouldn't be too much for us to handle.

October

I heard a lot about Balanta, he sounds perfect to have but it seems everyone buys him, I defiantly want another defender in my first team squad but I'm thinking of trying something different. I like the thought of homegrown players so I'm thinking to move Lloyd Jones to my first team. How good does he get? Is this a risky/stupid decision to try use him instead of buying Balanta?

Also, should I buy another attacking midfield? I plan to use Sterling, Suso, Lallana, Markovic and Coutinho. Do I need to buy another attack-mid or should these 5 be enough? I am thinking I could always use Gerrard as a AMC or Sturridge on the wings if someone gets injured?

stop clogging this story up with qustions, make a thread or something

That's a very good start to the season indeed, looks like getting all those creative players paid of as you are scoring quite a lot of goals. Looks like October is going to be an easy month for you with only Chelsea and maybe Southampton providing somewhat of a challenge.

A great month there and once again a great win against Manchester United! and nice to see Simpson pop up with another goal!

there are no easy games in the premier League :P Stoke in particular are a very good team. They may not have nay individual stars but they've a good squad who work very well as a unit.

Aye, I had Rob Noakes in FM14 who was an absolute beast, I'll be hoping for the same with Simpson.

A difficult away trip to Chelsea and a cup tie against Cardiff were the two
games that Liverpool fans tuned in to watch with vigor. A good start to the
seaosn has fans hoping this could be the year they return to the Champions
League having missed out the last two years.

Young Rossiter securing the points with a sensational strike.

View attachment 319801
A draw at Stamford bridge is a great result. It was a great move with a cool Costa finish that
gave Chelsea a share of the spoils. No complaints here, 1-1 was a fair reflection on the match.

View attachment 319799
Very comfortable win. The result was never in doubt.

View attachment 319796
Coutinho's penalty was saved and we hit the post 4 times. Any other day, this would have been
3 points picked up. We'll move on and not dwell. We were unlucky.

View attachment 319793
It took longer to make the breakthrough than I'd have liken but we got the win
in the end. Mingay had another good run out while Sarabia scored his first goal
for the club.

View attachment 319791
Defensively we have been shocking this season. Again dropping points in a game where
our attack has been excellent.

View attachment 319790View attachment 319788
Drawn too many and conceding too many. If we can sort those two out
this could be a very successful season at Liverpool.

View attachment 319785View attachment 319784
3 for 3 and defensively looking sound. Group stage should be sworn up next game.

View attachment 319783View attachment 319782
We stand a good chance of retaining the Capital One cup this season.
Newcastle will be a tough game but a game we should be winning.
