I'll be using him wide right or as a CM playmaker. I like to use a striker that drops deep and I've found an ACM disrupts that shape too much.

Aye, that's the plan. I'm sick of playing second fiddle to United yet again :P I've been unlucky with their good form but that can't last forever, I just have to be sure I'm ready to take advantage when they falter.

That's actually the same as me mate, but as a SS Mata would go in and get a goal while the striker wasn't there.

Any attacking position I'd be confident in him doing well though :)

It's option i'll keep in mind as I think Coutinho is one of the best strikers in the game when you retrain him to play up front.
I've found playmakers on the wings to be absolutely lethal this year :)

Wing players are top this year, I use an inside forward on the left and winger on the right, both chip in with plenty of goals and assists. My striker is false 9 so teams really well with a shadow striker as they stay out of each others way, plus they drag defenders out of position which the players on the wings take good advantage of.

United have really bolstered their squad, Barkley, Lukaku, Uturbe and Vezo are all great signings!

Absolutely loving this story pal, I'm completly engrossed in it as if it's real life haha! I like how you're slowly building your team and the club with youth, whilst still challenging for trophies. Hopefully next season you'll pip United!

I'm doing something similar (albeit on FM14) and really enjoying it. Will be following with intrigue! :)

We had a great pre season, Sinclair standing out in particular and I can't wait to
see how he does this year up front. I'll be giving him plenty of game time since
his scoring record on loan has been sensational.

I'm genuinly torn between Rulli and Scuffet as both Keepers had a solid
Pre-season. Rulli will get the nod to start in the Charity Shield though as
I want him to make his début and a test against United is the perfect way
to blood the new keeper.

A great contest and Henderson's 88th minute goal sent shivers down
my spine. The Liverpool captain came up big for us when it mattered.
Steven Gerard will be proud of the man who's succeeded him! Juan Mata
made an instant impact by scoring against his old club! In the post match
interview, his words were music to my ears.

They've made some good signings indeed. I'll agree with you there. I do have a lot of belief in the squad I've put together though.

Not that he wasn't good enough, he was just struggling for games. I've Coutinho, Isco, Sterling and Meyer all vying for 2 playmaking roles.

Thanks very much. I love this story and really enjoy writing each update :)
I've always been the type to slowly build my squad and try balance building youth alongside fighting for titles.
The first 2 year were very tough for me; finishing 7th and 6th but the save has really taken off in recent seasons.
 
Was worried when I saw Mata's average rating in pre season....666 haha

Then he came back to haunt United with an opening goal, good stuff!

How much percentage of Profit/Next sale did you have to give them? Player looks beastly though..
