He wanted a new challenge and I was quite willing to let him
go since Mingay was having a good loan spell at Swansea.

Pure profit since I signed him on a free. Rulli is a good keeper but he's barely
gotten game time since Scuffet is on fire between the posts. The reason I allowed
him to go to rivals Arsenal is to add extra competition to their GK department and
hopefully sign their 18 year old wonderkid, Danny Doughty

Doughty has a relseas cluas of £45M and the club dosn't look like like it's going
to let him go for less so I think I may just take a chance on him. I can afford the
risk since I've loads of money coming in monthly form the Origi and Markovic deals.

I think the reason you don't win certain games is because you don't have a game changer, Man Utd have 3 or 4 and that's why they're maintaining such good form. But thanks for continuing this story, loving it even though I'm a Manc.

Define Game changer? I'd argue I have many in my squad.

Honestly... by far the best story iv'e read, love your commitment hope you keep going. will always follow :)

Isco is closest I've seen, other than that there's no-one who's gonna' add a little spark, in my Arsenal save I got Reus and he always manages to encourage the team with assists and goals. Another thing is that you could've spent that 47.5million on a 'game changer' like you said.

If you have been following this story, you'd know that Isco had been injured for a lot of last season, starting only 17 games in all comps and actually has been one of my least creative players in the final third (4 goals, 4 assists). Coutinho (23 goals, 16 assists), Sterling (13 goals, 10 assists) and Meyer (5 goals, 10 assists) have provided far more than Isco, so your point is invalid.

Sterling, Origi (last season), Meyer, Coutinho, Romero, Henderson and Sturridge are all game changes that have that "spark" in them. I've spent the last 3 seasons building a team that can create in midfield and play with flair as well as developing multiple youth players; namely Simpson, Clifford and Mingay to name a few.

Though, the main point that you've ignored here is United scored 96 points last season, winning 30 games and only loosing 2 games while De Gea played like a man possessed, conceding only 35 goals... No matter how many game changers I had, that is an insane season and they deservedly won the league. I got 83 points; 1 point shy of United's point total for the previous season, so I've been performing well but sometimes you just have to accept that they played better.

Another thing is that you could've spent that 47.5million on a 'game changer' like you said.

Mate... Don't come in here and tell me how to spend my money! This isn't a tactics thread where I'm looking for advice. I'm not in the Discussions section asking for opinions. It's a story so stop backseat gaming!

If you're only here to compare my save against yours and point out what I'm doing wrong, I'm afraid this story is not for you.

Very expensive buy on a young goalkeeper, but he's already got fairly good attributes and he has the potential to be world class, and on top of all that he's young, so potentially a very good buy in the long run :)

That is one very impressive keeper! Also nice I suppose that you won't have to spend significant money on the position in the future.

Cheers mate. Thanks for the support :)

Aye, I spend about 25M more than I wanted to but I'm honestly afraid to let him develop elsewhere :P I've been traking him for the past 2 years and I can finally afford the extortionate price Arsenal would put on him. The deal was done up-front so I've no debt to deal with.

Between himself and Scuffet, I can see myself being sorted for the long run. I'll have to manage their game time to keep both hapy but Danny is 18 while Scuffet is 22 so there is seniority in there and a nice spread. Danny dose have the potentially to be far better than Scuffet so I may end up cashing in on Scuffet when he hits his peak.

Just read through your entire story in one sitting, amazing detail mate, really good read! Will continue to follow all of your stories from now on!

I thought this would help you but clearly not, I understand that it's your story but I don't see you winning any major trophies with your current squad, maybe you'll prove me wrong but the only game changer is Coutinho NOT Isco I guess.

Also, when did I tell you how to spend your money? I said who I bought, that doesn't mean I'm telling you to do that.

Again, not having read this story makes your point invalid.

First of all, an FA Cup? Seriously? Wigan won an FA Cup, does that mean they're a good team?
Second, I said you could've not should've, there is a difference, mate!

As well as that this is a game, I offered you advice and you started getting hostile, you're not an FM God, I'm not, no-one is.
You're acting as if you ARE the best player to ever grace Football Manager by denying things.

I'm done here mate. I'm gettign on with my story.

Yeah whatever, can't take criticism.
Please just leave. You're not providing anything positive you're just basically insulting Brendn, and you've pretty much ruined a whole page of his story by trying to start a pointless argument. If you disagree with him then fair enough, make your own 60 odd page story and do whatever you want in it, but don't come here and tell him how to run his story. I honestly don't think you have any respect or appreciate the work that goes into making a story with as good quality as this one does.
