Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has accused Stoke of playing for a point after the visitors drew 2-2 with Liverpool at Anfield.

Liverpool took the lead through a goal from Jordan Henderson as Stoke looked to defend from tghe outset. Following the goal, Stoke ventured forward a little more and caught the hosts out with two goals in quick succession, one from a set piece. Roberto Firmino was able to level with seven minutes left but the hosts were unable to find a winner.

"It was a frustrating game to watch, because we deserve to win the game," Klopp told Sky Sports.

"The game was just one team defending and playing on the break and the other team actually trying to play football the correct way. It was an embarassment to tell you the truth and we feel like we have been robbed. However, there can be no excuses, we gifted Stoke a point here, our defending wasn't good enough."

"When teams are setting out to defend us, we need to be patient and I feel like we weren't patient enough today. We pushed too far forward when trying to get a second and they caught us out twice. Once they had the lead, it was always going to be difficult for us to score again but I'm glad we managed to get through their extra defensive effort."

Liverpool left back Alberto Moreno will miss the next 5 weeks of action, including the Christmas period, due to injury after he broke three ribs in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Stoke yesterday afternoon at Anfield.

Moreno, who has been in and out of the team so far this season and sharing the left back role with Jetro Willems, landed awkwardly following a challenge from Stoke striker Wilfried Bony. It was clear that the Spaniard was in some discomfort and he was replaced by Willems soon after in the 74th minute of the 2-2 draw. Scans have revealed that Moreno has fractured three ribs.

The Spanish international has been at Anfield for just over two years now and has made 73 Barclays Premier League appearances scoring 3 times. The left back cost the Reds £18 million when he completed his move from Spanish side Sevilla in 2014. The 24 year old could be available for selection again when Liverpool face Arsenal at Anfield on the 21st of January.

Just a note. I will be ending this thread at the end of the season and starting a new one with Tranmere (the club I support). The Tranmere one will cross over into FM2018

ok, no problem! Its a great tactic then to go with your great thread!
I'm a spurs fan and still worried about your thread!

Striker Daniel Sturridge is to join Bayern Munich after a fee £35 million pound fee was agreed between Liverpool and the German club.

27 year old Sturridge will join the Bundesliga club on the 1st of January and has signed a three and a half year deal at the German club. The German club will pay Liaverpool £35 million for his services, a staggering £23 million pound more than Liverpool plaid Chelsea in 2013.

The England international has found games hard to come by under Jurgen Klopp this season, making just four starts in the Premier League with the German manager preferring a 4-2-3-0 setup.

Sturridge joined Liverpool for a fee of £12 million pounds from Chelsea in January 2013 and was an instant hit. The England international scored 10 goals in 14 games in the final half of the season. The 2013/14 season was Daniel's most successful at Liverpool, scoring 21 goals in 29 games as Liverpool came within a whisker of winning the Premier League title. Since then Daniel's Liverpool career was hit by a succession of injuries.

Y'see, now I'm conflicted. The normal side of me enjoys the threads, the Lincoln fan in me wants to see you finish 2nd... that said, if both sides don't make it up this season, it'll be a travesty.

Lincoln are already up in my opinion. Can't see them losing out now. Our form against the top 5 worries me quite a bit, have a horrible feeling we'll miss out in the playoffs.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp told Sky Sports of his delight after watching his side come back from 2-1 down to gain all three points against Man City at Anfield.

Things started badly for Liverpool when Matthias Ginter put through his own net with just one minute on the clock, however Adam Lallana equalised just three minutes later. Sergio Aguero put the visitors ahead on the hour mark, causing a lot of Liverpool fans to fear the worst. Adam Lallana equalised once again soon after and a James Milner double secured all three points for the home side.

Speaking to Jeff Stelling after the thriller at Anfield, Klopp said: "I am absolutely thrilled that we've managed to get all 3 points from the game."

"When Sergio Aguero scored, I could see that a lot of the fans were starting to get restless. That's why it was so important when Adam got the goal not long after. It was even better when James came on, they just didn't know how to handle his late runs into the box. I know it's a part of the game that James has been working on so I'm delighted to see it pay off."

Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has revealed that he is delighted with his form for the Reds so far this season after scoring another two goals away at Middlesbrough.

Brazilian Roberto Firmino has been in fantastic form for the red half of Merseyside so far this season and is the club's top scorer with seventeen goals so far this season. Liverpool find themselves sitting at the top of the Premier League, having not lost at all so far this season.

In an interview with Sky Sports Roberto Firmino said: "I feel that my form for Liverpool at the moment is very good."

"Of course I hope that it will continue for a long time and that we can continue to do really well. The gaffer has done some excellent business in the transfer market and this is the best squad we've had in a very long time, probably the best I've played in."

"I am delighted to have scored so many goals already this season, however I want to contribute more than just goals if I can. My main goal is to continue to help Liverpool Football Club improve and get us back into European football for next season. With a bit of luck, hopefully we'll have a couple of trophies to go with that."

Firmino looks on fire for you! What position/role do you play him? I'm about to start my 2nd season and plan to sell sturridge to give him more chances as at striker.

He plays as part of a strikerless 4-1-2-3 with 3 atacking midfielders
