A simply stunning displaying of goalkeeping by on-loan Victor Valdés saw Liverpool record
a 2-0 win over Arsenal. Our Defense was immense and Sturridge took his chances which
is the difference at this level. 3 Shots on target, only 1 not beat Cech.

I felt we were lucky to get away with this one to be honest. A draw is probably a fair result.

The Heroics in Spain did come at a cost. Sturridge injured himself but I got him off quickly and he's only expected to miss a week or two. Benteke has been giving out about first team football so this gives me
a chance to have him lead the line and get the playing time he wants.

Good performance all round. The option of Benteke is getting the best out of our Full backs as the
have a target man up front to swing deep crosses into.

Now I have a Headache, Sturridge is due back in about a week, he's been our in form striker but how
do you bench a man who scores 5 in a European match? Good kind of headache but I'll have to do some
genius squad rotation to keep both of them happy and in goal scoring form.

A tie I feel we can deal with. We're into March now so the Russian winter isn't so much
of a problem. Though Zenit has money so they're a decent side. We'll have to be at our
best to ensure we get through this tie.

I'm regretting our mid season performance now given we've top 3 Form. We've built up a
healthy enough goal difference to help us in the scrap for European places.

I'm not even thinking about the league, just taking it 3 points at a time and I'll see where we end up. Not sliding down the table is more important than moving up it right now.

The Europa League is my no.1 target this season since I think it's the only way of getting champions League football that's within my power.
 
You've really turned the ship around as the year turned over! Class regen too there, definitely looks to make it into the squad in a few years time :) Presentation is fantastic, really enjoyable to read

A month of non-stop huge fixture. Local rivalries as well as our only realistic
route back into the Champions League. Things are heating up here.

An away goal.. they got an away goal. At least they only got the one so our job is not made impossible.
I was in bit of a rut after this game since I panicked for a moment. They further we go in this competition,
the more I want to win it. The stakes are too high.

This game hurt... Oh god it hurt. I was just about to sub off Bender and the ref did it for me.
I tried to shut up shop but an own goal put us on the back foot and as we were chasing an
equalizer, we got sucker punched in injury time. I just want to move on form this one...
On to the second leg against Zenith.

I went **** for leather from the off. No point trying to play safe, we need to score to stay in
the competition because of Zenit's away goal. But I wasn't expecting them to collapse like this.
Goals just flooded in in the second half as they tired. I guess we just wanted it more.

And I also have my patch tot he Final. The winners of our game will play either
F.C. Schalke or Fenerbahce. I feel it's the easier side of the bracket.

We had somewhat of an injury crisis. Lovern and Sakho were injured and Skrtle
got a one game ban for picking up 5 yellow cards. I was forced to play Lucas in
Central defense and I named 15 year old Paul Miller (regen) on the bench.

If there was ever such a thing as the perfect Derby day, this was it. A 5-0 crushing home win.
Everyone played out of their skins, even our makeshift defense in Gomez and Lucas. With 10
minutes left ont he clock and the result safe, I brought on young Paul Miller to become the
youngest Liverpool player in history.

We're making a strong finish to the season but with an 18 point gap difference between
us and 4th placed Tottenham, it's almost mathematically impossible to secure Champions
League football through the League. Like we thought, our remaining Europa League games
will make or break our season. 5 wins and we're back in the Champions League... We'll do it!

Cheers mate. It took awhile to figure out how to get the squad to mesh on the pitch. So many attacking midfielders int he Liverpool squad.
 
Looks like you've found the right tactic for your squad, some very impressive results there. I was a bit worried when I saw the 1-0 loss against Zenit but am glad that you managed to beat them, very convincingly, in the end. I guess finishing in sixth place is probably the best you can hope for in the League. With the right additions over the summer I'm sure that you'll manage a top 4 finish next season however, especially if you keep this form going.

For now.... AI in FM is always evolving as they sign players and make small tweaks. What works for me now could fall apart next season.

I'm a villarreal fan IRL so beating them won't be pleasant; if I can beat them, they're a good side. But I think I need that Semi-Final place more than they do.
 
Mate, This is mind blowing, Was too far behind on the last one to catch up but pleased I have caught this one starting up!
 
Ibe has been one of my best players in my Liverpool save surprised you let him go out on loan.
