Add to that a Champions League win with a team full of poor players (Traore, Kewell, Sinama etc), a Champions League final and an FA Cup...

Did he really win you them Trophies or was it the continued brilliances of your Skipper Gerrard, and once he lost his way a bit, last couple of season, You started to decline.

And Kewell was a stop player, just a sick note ;)

Rafa's tactics time and again got us through massively difficult Champions League games. Gerrard had a massive part to play but no way was it all down to him. Alonso and Mascherano leaving has had more to do with whatever you're saying has happened to Gerrard?

Kewell was injury prone, lacked commitment, all after he came with this great reputation :(

Some people believe the FA Cup has lost some of its magic - would you go along with that?

I think that comes from a time when Manchester United were forced to pull out through the World Club Championship. - Roy

**** off.

But Gerrard Insipered so many Victories, Was it not his Goal that got you through the champs league, His 2nd half display Dominated Ac Milan and inspired your victory.... Then he did the exact same thing when you where so close to losing to a very poor Hammers side in the FA cup final. In No way can Rafa bring on Didi Hanman being the inspiration behind your Champions league comeback.

**** off.

LOL. Trying to blame us is he? The FA put pressure on us, As it would help our World Cup bid... Well yeah.

Suprisingly, when Gerrard dosen't play, the rest of our team realises they need to step up, and we have a better record without him.

Honestly can't remember back then.

Roy leaves Melwood at 2:20PM, Rafa used to often leave at 10PM...

Just sayin'

That means nothing though, Roy could be meeting staff members at his or at another venue, where it is more informal and they can take to each other openly, As there is normally camera's around Melwood........

Just Sayin ;)

Roy Hodgson's Liverpool future in doubt as press conference cancelled
• Under-pressure manager refuses to face the media
• Defeat at Blackburn may have been last straw for board

Roy Hodgson's increasingly beleaguered situation at Liverpool was illustrated today when the club cancelled a pre-arranged press conference to preview Sunday's FA Cup third-round tie at Manchester United.

The Liverpool manager is believed to be close to the sack following a miserable six months in charge and refused to answer questions on his future in the aftermath of Wednesday's 3-1 defeat at Blackburn Rovers.

Hodgson's future would, inevitably, have dominated today's press conference, which was expected to start at 1.30pm but was cancelled at 11.44am. The manager has not left the club, however, and an interview with Hodgson was scheduled to appear on Liverpool's in-house television channel and website instead.

In a carefully-worded Q&A Hodgson previewed Sunday's third-round FA Cup match with Manchester United and explained that he understood supporters' grievances. "It's very important the fans realise that we understand they have high hopes, expectations and ambitions for the club and the team," he said. "We have high hopes, expectations and ambitions as well.

"Every time we go on to the field we desperately want to see those dreams materialise and to produce the performances which bring you results. It's very painful when it's not happening and the fans make their views felt. We're all hurting in this situation."

As reported by the Guardian today, Liverpool's Spanish players Fernando Torres and Pepe Reina are considering their futures at Anfield regardless of whether or not Hodgson stays in charge.

He's gone Mike. It's now a question of when not if. Decision was made some weeks back. Only the terminal decline in the performance of the team has led to a speeding up of the process to find a suitable long-term successor.

What has been interesting about some of the coverage is that a number of us have been totally vindicated in what we said over the summer re. players being available at the right price in spite of the assurances from the board at the time over player sales - and also vindication that offers had been placed by other clubs for some of the players who were not sold.

Liverpool's yet-to-be-sacked Roy Hodgson may resign as coach before the knife cuts his neck. Rumours claim that Porto's new Jose Mourinho, Andre Villas-Boas, could be the next man in charge of Liverpool.

Liverpool Rumours: Roy Hodgson Says Goodbye Before The Sack

Roy Hodgson is hanging from a tread with Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers pushing the Merseyside Reds’ supporters to generate more anxiety and anger than ever this season. The coach’s days – if not hours – at the club are counted as Liverpool look to find a solution to their alarming condition.
A couple of months ago, Roy Hodgson had received warnings from supporters to resign – to which he responded that he was set to maintain his post with the aim of guiding Liverpool to achieve better things this year. However, info from English media The Sun apparently reveals that the under-pressure manager has now considered parting company with the Reds before getting the sack.

And insider told the news source about what has been going on behind the scenes since Wednesday’s unwanted loss to Blackburn Rovers. The Kop told The Sun in an exclusive interview:
“Roy was very down and emotional. He said things like, ‘It’s been a pleasure working with you all, but I’m sure that the owners will want me out after this’.”
“And he even added, ‘It’s not funny hearing your own fans singing another manager’s name every two minutes’ [as he referred to Liverpool fans crying out the name of legend Kenny Dalgish which expressed their desperate desire to have him back at the club for the rest of the campaign].”
Liverpool Rumours: Porto's Andre Villas-Boas Targeted

Roy Hodgson’s job is indeed on the line. with reports claiming that Damien Comolli – whose policy opposes Roy’s wish to be in control of transfers – is ready to find another man to continue the job at Anfield. Rumours explain that Andre Villas-Boas could become Liverpool’s next boss since director of football Damien Comolli is said to be a big fan of the Porto coach.
Out of the 20 games he's managed for Liverpool, Roy has won only 7 times. Besides, 9 defeats have also slapped the team since then. And would you believe? Struggling side Wolverhampton Wanderers and newly-promoted club Blackpool both defeated Liverpool earlier this season!
Who Is Porto's "New Jose Mourinho" Andre Villas-Boas?

Despite being only 33, Andre Villas-Boas has been branded as the “new Jose Mourinho”. Previously, he used to work under the “Special One” as his assistant manager at Porto and he followed his master at Chelsea and Internazionale until he engaged into a head-coaching career in 2009.
Andre Villas-Boas then managed Academica in the Portuguese Liga where he enjoyed a successful spell. The young boss turned Academica’s relegation status around as he guided them to clinch the 11th spot in the league besides leading them to a semi-final finish that same season (during the 2009-10 campaign).

Admired for the appealing style of football which he had injected in Academica, Andre Villas-Boas transformed into Porto’s target. When the Portuguese giants parted company with Jesualdo Ferreira, Villas-Boas became the next man in charge of Porto in June 2010.
The 33-year-old boss has already won a trophy – the Portuguese Supercup – with Porto following the defeat of bitter rivals Benfica. In addition to this feat and on December 11 last year, he also broke Jose Mourinho’s record of 33 matches unbeaten in all competitions.
Currently, Andre Villas-Boas’ Porto are on top of the Portuguese Liga and they are also Last 16 contenders in the Europa League. Will he follow Jose Mourinho’s footsteps by moving to England for more adventure? The Liverpool and Andre Villa-Boas match will be an interesting affair for sure. If it indeed happens, how soon will the public witness the Portuguese manager of English descent with “flawless English” land at Anfield?
At the moment, Liverpool fans may have to endure yet another 90 minutes of football with Roy Hodgson as the club's manager this weekend. What will the Reds make of Sunday's Manchester United vs Liverpool match in the FA Cup? More humiliation or a bit of pride at last?

I think I may ***** absolutlely everywhere if this is true.

Disaster what has happened to the club. Pathetic tactics from our manager, with 36 years experience and little to show for it. Players aren't playing with confidence and the fans have all lost faith in the manager. Man Utd in the FA Cup on Sunday will be his last game in charge for sure.

Also to people who talk of Villa Boas being the new manager, he won't likely join until the summer, if he joins at all.

I'm rather worried about what will happen to the forums if Villas-Boas gets appointed whilst Alex is online...

I'd advise now to steer clear from the forum for the time being should he be appointed.

Ofcourse Liverpool players back him...

They don't care about the club, they're all Spanish and just want their next paycheck for doing *****-all in matches...
