At first i wanted to wish you luck to stay up,but good luck to back to back promotions,i see this is a possibility!

I think its more of a lucky start than back to back promotions FMAddict, but thank you.

Following our continued good start to the season, scrap that, great start to the season even, we sat top of the pile in the Vanarama National League after eleven league games after promotion last season it was very unlikely we'd stay there. But with a long way to go this season we'll just have to see what happens over the next couple of months, sure it'll be excisting again.

mBCADRP.png

Here comes the form I was expecting this season. Three defeats, two draws and two wins in a busy seven game month but it wasn't all that bad. Both Barnet and Notts Co are going to be knocking on the door for promotion this season so expectedly we lost out to them, three nil and one nil respectively. We bounce back against Kidderminster as we won three nil at home, Pooni, Hassall and Browne netting for us. We've advanced to the first round of the FA Cup as we beat Aveley four two in the Fourth Qualifying Round. Hassall netting a brace with Cheema and Pooni also on target. Two draws back to back in the league with a one all against Gateshead, after taking the lead from a Hassall spot kick seven minutes from time we conceded in injury time to let slip the three points. Then a goalless dull nil nil with Dover. Ending the month with a one nil defeat against Tranmere.

CnaknED.png

We're starting to slip down the league table, as expected though I never thought we'd be this high. We're seventeen league games into the forty six game season and are currently up in seventh place with twenty six points on the board already and are level with Dag and Red ahead of us and York behind us. The table is still tight, another good month could see us rocket up the league or a bad month could see us slide right down the table.

The slip ups were beginning to show following last months performances on the pitch and unfortunately that was to be expected. Now things would get tougher for us as we fight for safety in the league despite being well above the drop zone yet. Our FA Cup journey was in progress too. Obviously our league form is the priority at this moment in time.

54zDUto.png

A heavy but expected defeat in the FA Cup First Round as we traveled to League Two side Rochdale. We played well but it was unfortunate the scoreline was so heavy come the end, Hassall netted our goal. Back to league action we grabbed a point away at Aldershot, Lewis with our leveler before Pooni netted against Havant & Waterloovile to secure all three points. A fourth away game on the bounce saw us lose one nil against Nuneaton before surprising the league leaders Forest Green with a three nil win. Massey netting and two from Pooni to end the month in sensational style.

89JQUGm.png

And so we're back up among the playoff spots with us sitting in third place after twenty one league games. So far we've amassed thirty three points which sees us only eight points off the drop zone which is currently occupied by Dartford, Welling, Dover and Jermaine Defoes Torquay side struggling rock bottom. Safety is looking good, but it shows how tight the league table is early on.

Well done mate! Great to see the progression, shouldn't be long before your second promotion.

Keep it up.

Not abad first half of the season mate.
Keep it up. Fingers crossed for play-off place.

Thanks again Tracz, its been a better season than I expected to date.

We recovered somewhat last month to head into the final month of whats been a sensational calendar year up in the playoffs of the Vanarama National League. We've been superb over the last twelve months, obviously winning the Vanarama National League South last season and now up there in the mix this year some how. If results went our way this month, for a second season running we could be top at Christmas and top on New Years day, but lets see how it unfolds.

hfdvqb4.png

Few draws slipping into our form, but an unbeaten month in the league so we can't grumble at that and we were dismissed from the FA Trophy, but first. We started the month at home against Wrexham where a Pooni goal was enough to earn us a point before traveling to Harrogate and taking all three, Hassall netting an eightieth minute penalty. Struggling league opponents Dartford knocked us out the FA Trophy first round, a round earlier than the board expected us to reach, but the competition isn't a priority for me, although I would like to win it before we move on at some stage. Two more draws came, firstly away to York coming from two nil down to draw two a piece with Pooni and Lewis netting second half goals then a dull nil nil draw with Welling before ending the month beating Jermain Defoes Torquay two nil away from home.

csWeiBs.png

Well, no more losses in the league this month has seen us rise up to second and head into the New Year with us chasing Notts Co at the top of the pile. We are six points behind them and they do have a game in hand, its certainly their league title to lose at this stage but we aren't really aiming for that this year. We're only three points inside the playoffs however are twelve points above the drop zone now.

Not to bad a month mate.
Those bottoms teams really dont wanna give up do they.
Keep up the good work.

Cheers again Tracz, they're keeping it tight thats for sure.

The new calendar year is upon us and as we role into 2021 we are once again overachieving much to the disbelief of not only me but everyone else reading and following along with the career to date. We go into the New Year sitting up in second in the league following our promotion last season. Would it be another season of promotion hopes.

upF39K7.png

What a way to start the New Year, least we've continued our good form to date with three wins and a defeat ending the month. The season began at home with a two one home win against struggling Dartford, McGinn and Street netting within a minute of each other, conceding in the second half. Then we beat Morecambe with a one nil win over Hassall. On the road for the first time in 2021 we beat AFC Telford three one with three difference scorers as Street, Casey and Carroll all found the net. Finally ending the month with a narrow one nil defeat against Newport Co.

k2tOur4.png

Thirty league games played this season, sixteen league games remaining this season and we're still sat up in second place, now trailing league leaders Notts Co by ten points as they continue to run away with it. We now have a six point cushion over falling out the playoff spots and are nineteen points clear of the drop zone.

Thanks Zorko7, A long way to go before we're anywhere near the Premier League.

Still really enjoying this save and with our form at its best lately we've got plenty more to come from the tank I believe. Going into February we've only got four more matches to play throughout the month, meaning plenty of time between matches and plenty of time to get ready for each one. Could we close the gap to the run away league leaders.

QSQPlEF.png

Two wins and two defeats throughout February and they were narrow defeats yet comfortable wins for us. We eat AF Fylde, at home three one as Casey, Hassall and Street netted. The narrow defeats on the road against Dag & Red two nil and FC Halifax one nil was just a minor setback. We bounced back as we returned to our home fortress though with a four one smashing over playoff chasing Braintree. Hassall, Browne (x2) and Carroll netting late on helped us thup Braintree four one.

sS5QVcG.png

We've dropped to third in the league after thirty four league games as Barnet jump up to second place and Notts Co now lead them by eight points with us a further point behind. Its likely to get a little worse before it gets better yet as we face Barnet and Notts Co in our next two league games this season. We've also opened up a seven point gap from dropping out the playoffs this season.

Our penultimate month of the league season was upon us and what i believe is our penultimate month at Wembley Stadiu before we move to our new stadium for net season. We're still flying high in the Vanarama National League, up in third place but with a tough schedule to kickstart the month. We've also got our usual, poor youth intake for the season.

ODJ1Muy.png

Blah blah blah, the normal youth intake for us. Our standout player, not that he is that good, is Luke Chapman, another keeper on the rise. But everyone as always will be given a contract and a chance to show themselves.

nK5jyCu.png

I knew the start of the month would be hard but we went four games without a win in March but thankfully ended the month strongly. We kicked March off by welcoming Notts Co, the strong league leaders beat us here three one despite us being level at the break thanks to Casey. Back to back nil nil draws came then both at home, welcoming Barnet then Gateshead before we returned to hitting the road where we stupidly lost to Kidderminster three two. We led two nil through Hassall after nineteen minutes but injuries after substitutions were made saw us finish with nine men and concede twice in the final ten minutes. We then struck two wins on the bounce by beating Dover away three one with Hassall netting another two and Street scoring. Before we finished March beating Aldershot four two, Massey, Hassall scoring twice again and Carroll ending the month on a high.

21uQNJ6.png

Forty games played this season in the Vanarama National League and we're now just six games away from finishing our first season in this division and setting a new club record for league position. Notts Co still top the pile, six points clear of Barnet with us in third a further four points behind them. We still have a four point cushion over falling outside the playoffs but are confirmed safe this season.

Next Update: London City FC - April 2021

Great season so far mate.
Gonna be tough to get the title but a playoff place is still an amazing achievement.

As always thanks for the support Tracz, its been a superb season and as you say, if we can hold on to the playoffs it'd wrap it up nicely.

Here we go again, into what could be the final month of the season, unless we keep up our strong form to date and secure a playoff place, then there'll be another months update but obviously we'll just have to see what happens. Our form was a little ropey throughout March but we ended it strongly with back to back wins. Now I was hoping we could take that into the final month of normal league football and secure a playoff spot which we deserve this season, over achieving by a country mile on our rock bottom media prediction that was set pre season.

uwIFS3z.png

Wheres it gone, our form, its disappeared right at the crucial moment, the last month of the season. We went five games without a win through March, that was every league game we played as we lost two one at home to Havant & Waterlooville, lost three one with Tranmere, Hassall netting our goal. It looked like things improved when we drew two a piece with Forest Green then two a piece with Nuneaton. However playoff chasing Wrexham beat us three one, after a Hassall penalty put us ahead. We ended the season on the first of May beating Harrogate one nil thanks to a late Josh Street goal, but what did it mean for our playoff hopes...

J8dlKCE.png

CRUSHED! Absolutely crushed by this, we finish outside the playoffs by one point, one measly stupid point! All those games we've thrown away this season, that loss earlier in the season against Kidderminster after being two one up with ten minutes to play, its cost up. But we shouldn't be too worried, its been a superb first season in the Vanarama National League for us, finishing up in seventh is a huge achievement for the club and hopefully we continue to move forward. It was Wrexham who went on to win the playoff Final, beating Barnet.

Fj30Tbd.png

Any relevant news that came between the end of the season and any awards being announced. I signed a new deal again, obviously only a one year extension as thats all I can get at the moment until the club turn professional. I was also named manager of the year for the second year running just across two different leagues now, I wasn't expecting it this time though. Finally not an award, but George Hassall took to the Vanarama National League with great confidence and finished joint second in the goalscorers list, netting twenty three goals in forty four league games this season, a superb achievement yet again from our young front man.

Next Update: London City FC - Pre Season Round Up 2021

So unlucky but sure you'll go again in the summer and next season will bring another promotion.

Disappointing to finish out of the playoffs but still great achievement.
Another huge season for hassall. Im sure it wont be long till he is on his way sadly.
Hopefully you can work some magic in the summer and get promoted.
Always happy to support mate. Keep it up.

How did you mess that one up!? A shocker of an April.

Hope you're still enjoying the challenge, mate.

We sure will go again neavie pops23, whether we are there again next season we'll see.

We completely bottled it Tracz, we've tied Hassall down to a two year contract somehow so it should keep other clubs off him for a couple years, his stats still aren't great so I doubt many clubs will come in for him. It'll be another tough season for us.

I don't know how we messed it up Tom26, we blew our own shots. I'm definitely still enjoying this!

u2CpKmL.png
GG8MymQ.png
UDH6mqA.png
R9yDSxe.png

Its been a real tough summer here at London City FC as pre season came to us with our finances getting worse and worse which only worried me heading into the summer transfer window. But more on that in a little bit, we've got a summer of worrying finances, small transfers and a squad report, as well as all our football we played over the last month or ready below.

ZQcgLaE.png

We're in big trouble financially with the club nearing a million pounds in debt and a chairman who doesn't want to put any money into the club. He either needs to cough up and help us back towards the black or sale up and let a new chairman in. He is constantly reducing our wage budget to which is losing us more money a month now.

0oglqQX.png

As always the summer news articles that I felt are relevant for you to know. The exact same expectations for the season ahead as the season just gone and hopefully we can hit all of these. Other news, we have now parted ways with Bradford City as our parent club and instead linked up Burton, League One side, slightly better and paying us a little more money. Our new stadium is also built, we move into it midway into September so have a month and a half left at Wembley.

gF8A5qb.png

So with our finances worsening everything was done on free transfers again this year, with us bringing in seven new faces this summer, four of those were on free transfers and three of them on loan deals, two of them from our newly formed parent club, League One side Burton Albion. We also so eight players depart the club this year with a few bigger names in Gooch, Ede and Okojie who didn't want to stay on non contract deals.

CS1Xi7n.png

Probably one of the smallest squads we've had since the opening season but we've still got plenty to rotate the squad regularly enough to keep strong throughout the season. As you can see the new players are a step up on the current squad, just hope we can push on from the disappointment we finished the season with last year around.

d4AAAHD.png

Finally to wrap it up, a struggling summer on the pitch and I'm hoping that doesn't carry into the season with us, we've struggled in front of goal throughout all our pre season fixtures scoring just four goals in six games.

Next Update: London City FC - August 2021

Following the tough summer and diminishing finances it was time to get back to competitive football and perhaps a good FA Trophy and FA Cup run could help those finances. However what was more important at this tage was another strong league finish. We're aiming to beat our seventh place Vanarama League finish we picked up last year, could we do it again. Six matches proved it to be a busy opening month of the season.

RnjVgrg.png

That's how you do it! An unbeaten month to kickstart our season, admittedly it was against a bunch of teams we finished above last season as we picked up four wins and two draws. We welcomed Harrogate to kick off the season with a five goal thriller, winning three two with Pooni, Hassall and Lewis netting. A goalless draw against Newport Co was following by a second draw on the bounce, Hassall netting ten minutes from time to seal a point. We finished with three wins on the bounce to end the opening month, Beating Stockport three one, York two one and Kidderminster three one as Hassall and Pooni share the goals, scoring five and six goals respectively, a partnership is blossoming.

1kWOsdH.png

Second in the league table to date with Newport Co the early league leaders, they're ahead of us on goal difference by just a single goal. We've also already played them picking up that goalless draw against them. A long way to go obviously, forty league matches but we'll continue to play our game this season and try and improve.

Next Update: London City FC - September 2021

London City FC - September 2021

u2CpKmL.png
GG8MymQ.png
UDH6mqA.png
R9yDSxe.png

A strong start to the season was made, an unbeaten one infact as we kicked the season off very well again in August. Into September we faced another five matches as we looked to continue another strong league start and remain unbeaten if we could to keep up pressure on league leaders Newport Co. We also had some new come the end of the month which will interest you all.

3ub42kH.png

Well, we're no longer unbeaten this season, but its been another good month for us seeming we're predicted to be relegated remember. We kicked off at home drawing one a piece against Barnet who I expect to be there or thereabouts this year. Hassall netting an eleventh minute penalty. We were then beating three one against Aldershot, against Hassall converting our goal from the spot. A two all draw against Dartford is a game we should be winning, but we blew the lead twice which was given to us through McGinn then Hassall. And our man in form made it four goals in four games for September, scoring the only goal against Gateshead in a one nil win. Finally finishing the month beating Torquay two nil, a double from summer signing Carnat doing the business for us.

pqB9ZH9.png

Newport Co move two points clear at the top of the table as they continue their very good start to the season. We remain in second place having picked up twenty two points from our opening eleven games this season. In comparison, this time last season we were top after eleven games but with twenty one points, so perhaps a small step forward this time around. Perhaps that extra point this year will be enough for our future.

ywsCo7d.png

Right at the end of the month it was confirmed we are moving to our new stadium 'London City Stadium' which we'll rent for £3.38k a year. Its only a 3000 capacity stadium however has potential to hod up to 6000 in the future. Not so sure on this move but we'll see what happens.

So it was confirmed, this month we'd move to our very own stadium, London City Stadium would be our new home. Unfotunately this means moving away from Wembley. But we've been good this far into the season, currently sitting on a single point more than we did this time last season, it'd be nice to keep that up. A busy month lay ahead with the FA Cup kicking off too.

esOWDO1.png

Wow, that certainly doesn't make for pretty reading, two wins, three defeats and two draws to wrap up December. There was a win for me on my birthday with Hassall netting twice and an own goal sealing a three one win over Crawley. Hassall netted a second brace in as many games, netting in the eighty fifth and eighty ninth minute to pull us from two down to earn a point against FC Halifax. Nuneaton beat us away from home two nil. We then crashed out the FA Cup in the Fourth Qualifying Round against Vanarama South side Wealdstone, beating us one nil, we did play some fringe players to hopefully return to the league in better form. A two all draw followed against FC United who are chasing back to back promotions like we were last year. Maidenhead comfortably beat us four two, Hassall with a third brace this season before we ended the month with a strong win over struggling AFC Fylde three nil, Everington, Pooni and Hassall all on target for us.

CuWrsdU.png

Down to fourth place but we do have a game in hand over the remaining pack and thats against the bottom side of the league Tranmere where i'm fully expecting the side to pick up a comfortable win. A win would send us back to second place. Again for comparison, after seventeen games last season we had twenty six points as it proved to be another month we struggled with, so we're now four points ahead of ourselves last season.
