i think its a case of english tactics v spanish tactics really...both work just fine, but theyre both very different also

Spain like to keep hold of the ball and wait for opportunities, while England like to be attacking, as they say, attack is the best form of defensive

My argument is because of the team i watch week in and week out though, Swansea have very few stars in their team, but the way they play means that they can stop bigger teams with better players destroying them

I prefer Spanish style also, but making strong possession tactic with loads of chances is almost impossible, choosing another one of them is beneficial. And which one you would choose, possession or goals?

i'd rather win 1-0 than 7-6

To get a high possession tactic you MUST dominate as much zonal areas as you can on the pitch, it does matter of the range of passing to an extent however, as you need to get the passing range of the player on the ball in line with his position on the pitch (For example you would not get a CB playing long ball if you wanted to keep possession and you know his quality of ball would not be the best). Dominating zonal areas is more vital in order to get high possession - just a few tips for you

looks good mate! did you dominate teams like that all through the season?

I didnt play whole season, just resigned from Barca and took over Tottenham. But played like 15 games and all were like that.

Now trying to tweak this with Tottenham, but the tweaking has so far caused only negative effects like I lost 2-1 to Coventry :DD

thanks brobs :) i understand what youre saying, the way my teams playing now is my defense and midfield knock it around between themselves and now the final ball is a lot better. One thing im struggling with a bit is defending against counter attacks due to their back fours high line, but the high line is an important part of keeping the possession and pressure on the opponent, any ideas how to sure this up a bit?

it is extremely easy dominating and scoring as many goals as you do with Barca as they are the best team in the game! you could use a default 4-3-3 and still win most games... it does not take a genius to create a semi decent tactic for teams such as Barca etc...

take this exact same tactic and use it on a club like Le Mans or Freiburg etc and see how well it does :) the best way to guage a tactic is by using a neutral team say for example Udinese, Everton, Hoffenheim, Getafe!

Yeh I know that but my main goal with Barca was just to get Xavi and Iniesta duo making the game and I fail in it still, since the game somehow always goes via the flanks and by Wingbacks got most passes and same happens also with Tottenham here..

But now I had probably the best game with Tottenham versus Chelsea...

Im getting annoyed by the fact that if I set Primary Playmaker to Modric or VDV, sum naab from flank or even the freaking goalkeeper gets more passes than him. Seen this as Ive watched, I manage to move the ball around the defenders and flanks, but then I fail to get them passing more between midfielders and sometimes using defenders as a way to get more time and space and then get the ball back to them u know? I want Modric & VDV or Xavi & Iniesta to get over 100 Passes per game! But this probably impossible, mebbey the game engine aint good enuf.. :D

both Udinese and Everton start out with teams that are good enough to win there respective leagues with, they might not have the squad depth to win cup's while going for the league title, but wining stuff should be possible

speaking of which, I have started to test my current tactic with Bolton, and with one or two first team signings i think i can win the leauge with this team or at the very least challenge for the title
