Brilliant read mate. Like the creativity in the idea to use Twitter to outlet what players have said. Good luck with it :)

Like the tweeting idea too, but for Rooney to spell every word in a sentence right? Bit unrealistic if you ask me ;)

Hey Jamo I have changed it so Rooney hasn't spelt everything perfect. Lol

October 2011

Man Utd still remain in top spot having come through August and September undefeated. The club is brimming with confidence with the players seemingly certain that Man Utd are the team to beat this year. Rooney has already issued a title challenge to the Red Devils rivals who have started the season disappointingly. Mike Phelan will be keen to keep his teams feet on the ground as over confidence can cause lapses in concentration and mistakes.

With October looking to be a tough month for the champions, it see's Man Utd travel to France to take on Olympique Lyonnais in the Champions League and it see's Liverpool travelling to Old Trafford to take on the Red Devils in the Carling Cup. United also face the in form Bolton who have climbed to third in the table.

United looked tidy once again today as they hardly put a foot wrong all game. Phelan will however be irked at the trouble his team had when they came to the final third of the pitch. Both Rooney and Hernandez were wasteful in front of goal frustrating their manager who was partucuarly vocal when giving them orders.

Paul Pogba who is starting to make a name for himself this season scored what looked like the only goal of the game, as he ran onto a Paul Scholes through ball and cleverly slid the ball past Jusi Jaaskelainen to give his team the lead. There was more misery for Jaaskelainen when he unfortunately tipped the ball into his own net after Chris Smalling headed strongly towards goal. The match ended with a United win but they should of perhaps been better today.

If Mike Phelan was left disappointed by the Bolton score, he will have certainly forgotten about it now. Man Utd ran Fulham amuck, showing off some fantastic football and clever link up play. Javier Hernandez was in sensational form bagging his first United hattrick and impressing all over the pitch. The pint sized striker wrapped up his hattrick with a superp turn in the box and then unleashed a powerful shot into the Fulham goal.

Young winger Tinga got in on the action in the second half replacing Antonio Valencia. Tinga looked delighted with his goal, although there may still be some communication issues as the language barrier between him and the team was visible. Tom Cleverley scored the final goal of the game as he ran towards goal from the left and struck a low shot to take United's goal tally to five.

The Red Devils were slayed in France and will return home with a whimper. Mike Phelan also tastes his first United defeat as Lyon took advantage from an abysmal display from the English champions. Marouane Chamakh who signed from Arsenal in the summer put Lyon two up after the first fifteen minutes and looked dangerous all game. Man Utd did claw one goal back as Anderson poked in a lucky goal just before half time which gave the United faithful some hope.

Phelan's side looked just as bad in the second half as they once again gave away an early goal this time Lisandro Lopez scoring. Phelan was aggitated and looked angry as his team spurned opportunity after opportunity and almost looked lost. Nemanja Vidic did offer some hope but his eighty ninth minute goal was merely consolation.

With the loss to Lyon still playing on their minds it looked like the Red Devils wanted to claim some redemption and rightly so. With the fans somewhat subdued today it was Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney providing them with the entertainment as both played well and both scoring.

Wayne Rooney looked pumped up and was seen encouraging his squad to play with the same attitude. He looked incredibly strong and that of a future United Captain. Hernandez who had been linking up well with Rooney today played well too using his speed to beat the West Brom defence.

Mike Phelan will more than likely be criticised for keeping faith with his youngsters as he played more than a handful of them today. Zeki Fryers, Jesé, Larnell Cole, Gianluca Caprari and Matty James all played some part in the match. It won't help Phelan's case that Zeki Fryers, gifted Liverpool their first goal as he all too easily lost possesion to Liverpool's new recruit Martin Olsson who recently signed
from Blackburn. The Sweedish youngster ran at the United goal and curled in a shot which put Liverpool into the lead.

Dirk Kuyt made it two goals for Kenny Dalglish's side shortly after the break but United fought back. Gylf Sigurdsson scored a screamer from outside the area and shortly afterwards Welbeck fumbled into the net from a mistake by Sebastian Coates in the Liverpool box. Just as it looked like we were heading for a replay, Daniel Agger popped up for the winner smashing in a Liverpool corner. Liverpool will be extremely pleased with themselves having knocked United out of the Carling Cup

Martin O'Neils Sunderland looked very sharp today, often out thinking and out pacing United. Sunderland looked to take advantage of the Red Devils as they looked to still be licking their wounds after having crashed out of the Carling Cup early to bitter rivals Liverpool. Sotiris Kyrgiakos powered Sunderland into the lead shortly before half time giving Man Utd a shock. Sebastian Larsson was pulling all the strings for Sunderland today showing off how good he is.

Mike Phelan sent his team out early at half time and must of had harsh words at half time as it looked like a new team had come out. Still United couldn't overpower a gritty Sunderland side but they did manage to score an equaliser though through Radja Nainggolan who side footed in a curling effort from about twelve yards out. Still this result will end a frustrating month for Phelan who will now have to install a bit of belief back into his team.

Premier League Table

Manchester United remain in top place but have shown signs of weakness and have wobbled in the league for the first time this season. It seems almost certain that the United players have been brought back down to Earth after Wayne Rooney's tweet.

Everton remain in second place with David Moyes seriously impressing the fans and the football world. We all know how little money he has to play with so he has done extremely well to get Everton where they are. Once again Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City sit below them slowly gathering pace and looking to over throw the teams above them.

Champions League Table

With Man Utd's loss to Lyon giving Phelan alot of work to do before the two teams play the reverse fixture soon United look less than confident going on to qualify now. United now need to win their remaining games to qualify comfortably. Napoli could leap frog the Red Devils if they do not beat Lyon and Olympiakos are not mathematically out of the running to qualify.

Mike Phelan: I've Let United Down

scaled.php

Mike Phelan has come out recently and voiced his apologies through Manchester United's official Website. Phelan who has seen his side crash out in the Carling Cup and slump to defeat in the Champions League, leaving qualification on a knife edge has emotionally spoken to the fans via the United website.

Whilst United have enjoyed a good start to the season, things have turned recently and the club has been brought back down to Earth with a thud. The fans who have so far stood firmly behind the club and the manager are now wary that things could become even worse.

Phelan has come out and taken responsibility for his teams misfortunes, claiming that he should have kept his players feet on the ground and dealt with the over confidence sooner. Players like Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand who are avid users of Twitter have used it to taunt their title rivals. This seems to be a sure sign that the players within United are becoming too sure of the position the club is in. Phelan again took the flak for it claiming that he cannot and will not stop players having the freedom of speech and voicing their opinions online. He did however admit that the club will watch closely what the players put on their Twitter accounts. He also stated that he didn't know the reason's why his team had been underperforming of late but promised he would get to the bottom of it.

Mike Phelan has also stated that the club will hold an emergency meeting about the performances of late and that everyone can have their say. United who do have blips in the season will hope that they can come back from their poor for and continue to do well in the league and in Europe

nice update, out of interest, why did you call it: a red devil in us all?

I was hoping to get people interested and if they did become interested it would be like having a red devil inside them... if that makes sense... which it probs doesn't.

David De Gea Dropped!

Mike Phelan has taken action after making his emotional statement on the Manchester United website. It seem's United's Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea will miss out on a few games this month. The new recruit who was purchased by Sir Slex Ferguson came to Manchester with a glowing reference. However the young starlet who had been tipped to replace Real Madrid's Iker Casillas as the next Spanish number one, has had nothing short of a disappointing start to his maiden season with the Red Devils.

David De Gea has looked nervous in most of the games he has played and has hardly looked to command the United goal and the United defence. De Gea also struggles with the high ball and is often out muscled by the oppositions players and is only saved from embarassment by the United defence. Although the youngster has played a few good games he will now have to take this time out of the squad as a chance to focus on his performances.

Phelan who seem's to be frustrated with his £18million signing has stated that he has not axed De Gea from the squad but has merely given him a chance to regroup and to work on his game. Anders Lindegaard with now deputise for United and will be hoping for an opportunity to steak his claim as the Red Devils's number one keeper.

David_de_Gea_1991784c.jpg

David De Gea was quick to jump onto his twitter account and play down his exit from the Man Utd first team, echoing his managers words and agreeing that he needs more time to adapt to the English game and that he need's to focus on his performances.

TwitterLogo1.gif

@D_DeGea

" Being rested to concentrate on my game, need more time to be better in England need to look at my games and see where to improve. Will be on pitch again soon. '@ALindegaard' don't you get comfy in the goal "

It seems clear that even De Gea is disappointed with his performances so far this season and understands why he is being dropped. He does however expect to be back in the goal and has cheekily joked with Lindegaard about his time in the United goal.

Any chance you can post a photo of Aston Villa's fixtures? I'm intrigued in how they're last.
