Hey, well here is the latest update along with some transfer activity and my ECC group
^^)
So, we'll start off with transfers...
Traore granted permit and completes move:
Lacina Traore if now officially a Portsmouth player after being granted a work permit after the 4th time in asking for one. Traore comes with a price tag of £7.5m but King is sure he will be a huge hit and will be a star in the coming seasons. Max King said - "I'm delighted to complete the deal finally, it was a stressing time for both clubs and the player aswell, but finally we've got our man. I'll admit, we were close to a deal for Keirrison but we couldn't get a work permit for the lad and that deal fell through, and then we had 2 options in Mchedlidze or Traore, both having work permit problems with both players, I came to a decision that if Traore was granted a permit, we'd go for him and if not Mchedlidze was our 2nd option. I'm pleased I've got the player I desired and the squad is fantastic now".
Pompey quadruple leave:
Portsmouth players Jamie Ashdown, Tal Ben Haim, Papa Bouba Diop and Deco will all leave the club in January for upfront fee's. Jamie Ashdown will complete a £1.9m move to recently relegated Sunderland, Ben Haim will head off to Tottenham for £8.25m after 2 seasons at the club and much speculation over his future after fantastic performances for the club. Deco will head off to Birmingham for £1m, whilst Papa Bouba Diop will arrive at Q.P.R for £550k. Pompey boss Max King said - "I'm sad to see them all go, Ashdown has been here for about 7 years now, Diop for around 4 years and Ben Haim for 2 and Deco just the 1, so it's sad to see players that served the club leave but it balances the books a lot more now and we've got enough cover in all of them positions".

Portsmouth given extremely tough group:
Portsmouth have been drawn into Group G of the ECC along with Real Madrid, Porto and Olympiakos. Portsmouth will have to show real quality to finish 2nd in this group with the ability of Porto and Olympiakos could be underdogs, Real Madrid should qualify comfortably though.

Here are the recent results
..
Portsmouth 0-0 Birmingham:
Not a bad game, lots of chances for both teams and if the finishing was better from us we could of won it.
Blackburn 0-0 Portsmouth:
Just the same old game you always get at Ewood Park, ball up in the air with lots of sliding tackles. Need to start scoring a bit more now.
Portsmouth 1-0 Porto (Boateng) (ECC Group Stage):
Great win, even if we left it until the 87th minute to get the winning goal
Looked a bit shaky at the back but we are still gelling as a team and we've proven every season that near the end of the season, we start performing and over achieving.
Portsmouth 1-0 West Ham (Klose):
Good win again, even if there wasn't many goals, atleast we left the game with the 3 points
Klose is so dangerous in the air and West Ham couldn't handle him, with Klose scoring a diving header ^^) Good result and a performance to go with it.
Portsmouth 4-5 Arsenal (Dindane 2, Klose, Riquelme) (League Cup):
Well the goals certainly found their way back to Fratton Park here, but sadly we lost an extremely entertaining game. I gave some of the lads like Dindane, Yebda and Riquelme a chance here who hadn't been playing much and they did well, especially Dindane who scored 2 fantastic goals, along with Riquelme scoring a wonderful free kick. Unlucky to be out but I'd rather be out of this to concentrate on more important things like staying in the top 4, trying to retain the FA Cup, and qualifying from the ECC Group Stages![Smile :) :)](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png)
Portsmouth 2-0 Blackpool (Beckham, Dindane):
Decided to give Beckham a chance to prove his worth here and he did with a long shot which curled into the bottom corner nicely to settle the nerves a little. Dindane was brought on for the tired Toni and scored again, showing he deserved a starting place![Smile :) :)](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png)
Olympiakos 1-0 Portsmouth (ECC Group Stages):
Extremely frustrated at our inhability to convert chances here. Toni had so many 1 on 1 chances and we could of won it 7-1 at the end, such a disappointment. Now we next go to Madrid away from home, and pray for something out of the game.
Man City 3-3 Portsmouth (Riquelme 2, Dindane):
Unlucky not to get all 3 points from a City side who have struggled to score this season, and have suffered the consequences by severely under achieving so far. Great to see Riquelme get 2 goals against the club that sold him to us for £800k, and also Dindane scores again for us, becoming a bigger part of my plans now.
Tottenham 2-1 Portsmouth (Boateng):
This was the game Traore made his first appearance since returning from injury, and he looked good, causing problems all game with his jumping ability. Sadly we couldn't create enough chances and Tottenham were the better side, good to see Boateng score against his old side where he was mistreated though![Smile :) :)](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png)
Newcastle 0-2 Portsmouth (Willand O.G, Kranjcar):
Great win here in a game we once again didn't dominate and on another day could of loss, might need to change the tactics. (Sorry Kris (A)
). Traore should of had his first goal but his shot hit the post and rebounded onto Newcastle's player and went in :'( Kranjcar returned from injury aswell here to smash home his first goal for the club since his £6.25m return to Fratton Park
Good result. Real Madrid away next :O
Real Madrid 4-0 Portsmouth (ECC Group Stages):
I'll keep it short and simple here. One word, destroyed. Learnt a lesson here that playing a diamond formation without wingers doesn't work against Madrid and you get destroyed on the wings. Hopefully we can bounce back and claw through with 2nd spot, but we must beat Olympiakos and Porto, and try and get something at home vs Madrid :'(.
Portsmouth 2-0 Everton (Klose 2):
Great win against a strong Everton team. I decided to pack the midfield with strong ball winners like Boateng and Yebda and put Kranjcar in the AM for a bit of ability to track back aswell and it worked ^^) Everton had no time and space on the ball and most importantly new Everton signing Moussa Sissoko wasn't allowed any sufficient time on the ball
Good result.
So, we've played okay lately, some games we should of done better in like the 0-0 draw's, and the Olympiakos and Tottenham matches, but apart from that a good first 10 matches in the league and some decent performances in Europe except the Madrid game of course (A) Pleased with the transfers in and out and I'm sure we can hold our own this season when the team gels![Smile :) :)](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png)
