Consistency goes game to game, ronaldo didn't exactly have a stormer against barcelona now did he?

As for run of games, ok you're right, but i'm still standing by statistics!
And i don't like ronaldo, although hes a excellent player.

Why the F is this in FM11 players section, if people are talking about real life?

Think about it Ronaldo has never had a bad patch and Messi has had quite a few

Messi hasn't had a bad patch for a good few years now, now that Pep has found the role he flourishes in. People just think Messi is having a bad game when he doesn't score, he didn't score against Madrid, but was equally as outstanding as usual.

For me, it's Messi - he's more the complete player, something which was proved in El Classico, he sacrificed himself for the good of the team, unlike Ronaldo who seems to have seen that game as some kind of personal battle with Messi as he was shooting from more preposterous positions and angles, his team work and work rate really let him down, he's far far too selfish. Although, this is something Mourinho will probably change.

So for me, it's Messi and i'd probably put the like of Xavi and Iniesta in above Ronaldo as well...

Messi is better overall .. but Ronaldo isn't far off him but the only thing off the top of my head I can think of is .. that Ronaldo is better in the air. I agree with *Jones* that Ronaldo's work rate lets him down and he is extremely selfish

Imo Ronaldo > Messi.

Messi plays in a better team, and with his team, he is the best player in the world, but if both played for someone like.. say.. Blackpool, Ronaldo would have much more or an impact.

Poor example, Charlie Adam > Xavi.

Ronaldo is faster, shots better, crosses better, has better free kicks and imo hes better dribbler....
But as a player messi is better just because his teamwork and ronaldos arrogance...

So, are you saying Ronaldo plays in a bad team?
Real Madrid on paper are equally as good as Barcelona :'(

No, I am not saying he plays in a bad team, rather that he plays in a team that isn't as good as Barca, especially when it comes to teamwork and passing.

Barcelona have best passers and team work and also real madrid is also best team .. so dont say ronaldo plays in a bad team

I don't think anyone has said Real are a 'Bad' team. Rather they aren't as good as Barca in the areas that make Messi's gameplay much more impressive in comparason to the effect that the rest of the Real team have on Ronaldos gameplay.

Although Messi is a much weaker player, and cannot head the ball, he is IMO the greater player.

Until messi comes to the prem and performs, i am sticking with C-Ronaldo

Good luck with that... Actually I heard Moyes has been in touch with Guardiola recently........

On topic, Messi is the best player I have seen since Zidane. So hands down Messi. El Classico backed that up tbh.

Did you just say Ronaldo is the better dribbler? :|

Messi doesn't need strength, not many people knock him off the ball because he has a low centre of gravity. Can no one remember him keeping Vidic away from the ball by shielding it in the Champions League final? Strength and size doesn't mean much in football.

He can head the ball, he has scored many headers. Ronaldo is faster (without the ball) and that's all I can think of tbh. His free kicks aren't all that, find out how many hits the wall and you'll be suprised. Law of averages states he needs to score at least 1 if he has 35 free kicks.

Also, Messi shows up in the big games ...
