Pendulum are decent, they aint DnB anymore though. More dance-rock if such a thing exists...I heard someone describe them as a dance-metal cross over :|

Yeah Manc is a great place to be if you like DnB, so many nights for that around. Am not a fan tbh but its tolerable.

first heard that song pendulum do on Cyber Sunday for WWE. I don't the band are going to be around long to be honest.
Listened to some of there other stuff on you tube.

Was just thinking, Metal is way the best car music, it feels so good to have metal blasting while driving :)
Also were did this thread go, i had to search on my own threads created to find it

I like Iced Earth yeah, followed most of their material.

Iced Earth are great, Blind Guardian feels like they could do so much ebtter, look at the Demons and Wizards work, when Blidn Guardian's singer has a guy like shaffer behind him he is just perfect. But two amazing bands.
Currently listenting to: !!!!!MOTORHEAD!!!!!
Any thoughts you guys want to share about motohead?

love them, I went to dl their discography and they start with pretty common rock but as they progress they make this heavier songs with the climax of the inferno album which is a piece of art, funny enough, maybe the only band that actually progressed over time compared to the others (though with the return of barlow to Iced Earth they should soon be doing some good work from now on, bit disppointed about the last album tbh)

I never really thought of Motorhead as a metal band. I always got the idea that they influenced a lot of punk and hardcore.

thats in there roots yeah, but I have always viewed them as a metal band

Depends what type of hardcore you're talking about. If you're talking about the **** that gets passed off as "hardcore" these days then probably not. But if you're talking about Black Flag, Sick Of It All and Blood For Blood then...

was just wandering in general what type of singing styles people prefer, clean, death growl, etc.
I find myself back and forth

I can appreciate (and a lot) the death or black singing but nothign beats bruce dickinson in clansman live at rock in rio. Clean voice I'd say.

I respect singers who are good at both , and element both in there music, like Mikel Akerfeldt from OPETH, or Miheal Stine from Dark Tranquillity.
Even Matt Heafy from Trivium has awesome growls and clean vocals

I totally agree there, went to see Sepultura int heir first tour without Max (grr... I'm old but not old enough for some things) and by then hatebreed were a new band and they did the first part and ever since I hate them. Had one madball album, which was decent, nothing more and I really don't like hardcore nor its style for that matter, reminds me of poor machinehead music, and machinehead is quite poor by itself.

My mate told me about this band the other day.

Stone Gods the singer is the former bass player of The Darkness....really really good and old school

reminds me of Thin Lizzy a bit
