Mixing it with the big boys with ... Bristol City!?

October
6.10.13 Premier League
Bristol City 0-1 Blackburn Rovers

Verdict: Very disappointed as I felt this was a winnable game.

19.10.13 Premier League
Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-4 Bristol City (Maynard, Adomah 2, Stewart)

Verdict: A much better performance, deserved to win.

26.10.13 Premier League
Wigan Athletic 0-2 Bristol City (Kilkenny, Walters)

Verdict: Consecutive away wins is very pleasing. Walters 1st goal for club took a little while coming but hopefully will kick on now.

Monthly Review
2 wins and 1 defeat from what I billed as a very important month is pretty good and leaves us in 10th place. Something from the Blackburn game would have made it much better though as we have a tough November coming up.

November
3.11.13 Premier League (TV)
Bristol City 2-6 Chelsea (Walters, Rhodes)

Verdict: Deserved to lose and not happy with conceding 6 goals. Clinical finishing though, 2 goals from 4 shots.

10.11.13 Premier League
Bristol City 3-2 Aston Villa (Walters, James Collins O.G, Howard)

Verdict: Great to bounce back immediately against a tough Villa side.

23.11.13 Premier League
Liverpool 3-0 Bristol City

Verdict: Started poorly and could not recover, matched them in the 2nd half though.

30.11.13 Premier League
Bristol City 1-1 Manchester City (Adomah)

Verdict: Very satisfying point against a Man City side filled with stars.

Monthly Review
4 points from 4 games against Chelsea, Villa, Liverpool & Man City is not bad at all. Currently in 13th place going into the busy Christmas and New Year period.

December
8.12.13 Premier League (TV)
Newcastle United 1-0 Bristol City

Verdict: Really poor performance. Yet to beat Newcastle in 5 matches.

14.12.13 Premier League
Bristol City 0-5 Arsenal

Verdict: We didn't play well and Arsenal capitalised on some poor defending.

21.12.13 Premier League
Fulham 1-4 Bristol City (Walters 2, Rhodes, Woolford)

Verdict: A morale boosting victory, very good performance.

26.12.13 Premier League
Bristol City 0-1 Stoke City

Verdict: Very disappointed, should have got something from the game.

28.12.13 Premier League
West Ham United 1-1 Bristol City (Ongenda)

Verdict: Good away point.

30.12.13 Premier League
Queens Park Rangers 1-2 Bristol City

Verdict: Playing much better away from home, another good result

Monthly Review
Some mixed results, 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats. Still in a more than satisfactory 13th place. Wonderful tie against Bristol Rovers to come in the F.A Cup!

January - Transfers
In:
Barry Bannan - £2.9M from Aston Villa

1.1.14 Premier League
Bolton Wanderers 0-1 Bristol City (Walters)

Verdict: Unbeaten in last 4 away games, up to 11th with that win.

4.1.14 F.A Cup 3rd Round
Bristol Rovers 0-3 Bristol City (Ongenda, Elliott, Arnison)

Verdict: Great victory against local rivals. 1st senior goal for Kevin Arnison since coming through the academy.

11.1.14 Premier League
Bristol City 1-1 Birmingham City (Robert Snodgrass O.G)

Verdict: Could be an important point at the end of the season as we didn't play well.

18.1.14 Premier League
Everton 5-3 Bristol City (Elliott, Walters, Rhodes)

Verdict: 1st defeat in 5 Premier League games.

25.1.14 Premier League
Bristol City 0-2 Manchester United

Verdict: Didn't play badly. Quality was the difference.

Monthly Review
F.A Cup win over Bristol Rovers was very satisfactory. 1 win, 1 draw and 2 defeats in the league mean we are back in 13th place.

February
2.2.14 F.A Cup 4th Round (TV)
Bristol City 2-0 Chesterfield (Fontaine, Adomah)

Verdict: Comfortable win, 1st time I've reached the 5th round.

5.2.14 Premier League
Bristol City 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur (Johnson)

Verdict: Deserved a point and got it with Michael Johnson's first goal for the club in the 85th minute.

8.2.12 Premier League
Sunderland 2-0 Bristol City

Verdict: Very poor performance, 5 league games without a win.

15.2.14 Premier League
Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Bristol City

Verdict: Tight game, could have gone either way.

22.2.14 F.A Cup 5th Round (TV)
Fulham 4-1 Bristol City (Elliott)

Verdict: Awful performance, but can focus on Premier League survival now.
Monthly Review
Not a great month at all. Just one league point picked up from the 3 games leaves us in 14th place.

March
1.3.14 Premier League
Bristol City 0-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Verdict: Really concerning run of form, need to pick things up and quickly.

9.3.14 Premier League
Chelsea 3-1 Bristol City (Walters)

Verdict: A better performance, but now lost 4 consecutive league games and no win in 8. Down to 16th.

15.3.14 Premier League
Bristol City 2-1 Wigan Athletic (Walters 2)

Verdict: Scrappy win but that does not matter. Much needed 3 points.

26.3.14 Premier League
Aston Villa 0-2 Bristol City (Walters, Maynard)

Verdict: Another vital win puts us 9 points clear of the relegation zone.

29.3.14 Premier League
Bristol City 2-3 Liverpool (Adomah, Stewart)

Verdict: Really good performance, desperately unlucky.

Monthly Review
Picked up 2 vital wins from 4 games which lifts us to 13th place. Still 9 points clear of the relegation zone with 7 games left.

April
5.4.14 Premier League
Manchester City 3-0 Bristol City

Verdict: Didn't make them work very hard for their win.

12.4.14 Premier League (TV)
Arsenal 2-0 Bristol City

Verdict: Fairly close game with both sides having a number of chances, 2nd goal mid-way through the 2nd half killed it off.

20.4.14 Premier League (TV)
Bristol City 2-3 Newcastle United (Walters, Granqvist)

Verdict: Should have won the game, so to lose it was very disappointing and leaves us only 6 points clear of relegation zone.

26.4.14 Premier League
Bristol City 1-2 Fulham (Rhodes)

Verdict: Now lost 4 in a row. The gap has been closed to 5 points.

Monthly Review
Poor month. Anything from the two tough away games would have been a bonus, but to lose both home games is not good enough and leaves on the brink of trouble in 15th and 5 points above the drop, with 3 to play.

May
3.5.14 Premier League
Stoke City 3-2 Bristol City (Walters, Granqvist)

Verdict: A little unfortunate to lose but we seem to be buckling under the pressure. Down to 16th. Gap is 4 points.

11.5.14 Premier League
Bristol City 0-1 West Ham United

Verdict: 6th consecutive defeat and 11th in 13 doesn't matter because Wigan also lost which means the gap is still 4 points with only 1 game left. WE HAVE SURVIVED!!!

18.5.14 Premier League
Bristol City 3-0 Queens Park Rangers (Johnson, Elliott, Rhodes)

Verdict: Good performance under no pressure. Only our 3rd win in the last 18 league games but we did enough earlier in the season to ensure a 2nd season in the top flight.

Season Review
Before the season I would have taken finishing 17th and surviving on goal difference so to finish 15th is a good achievement.

BREAKING NEWS!!!
Bristol City have announced that plans to increase the capacity of their stadium Ashton Gate from 21,497 to 26,793 have been granted by the local council. Work will begin immediately.

A second piece of news that will please their fans is that manager Alex Morrison has signed a 4 new year contract that will keep him at the club until 2018. In the 3 years he has been at the club, Bristol City have won the npower Championship in 2013 and will soon be enjoying their 2nd consecutive season in the Premier League.

Congratulations pal, really good achievement keeping them up, especially with some of your Championship players performing well.

Congratulations pal, really good achievement keeping them up, especially with some of your Championship players performing well.

Thanks, with a bit more money next season can hopefully make some better signings and make progress on this past season! Main aim is to avoid relegation again though as we have been predicted an 18th place finish :/

2014/2015 Season
Objective - Ideally make progress on last season by gaining more than the 38 points we collected, but as we are predicted to finish 18th, the main objective is to avoid relegation again.

Pre-Season Friendly Results:
Crystal Palace 1-1 Bristol City
Sheffield United 0-3 Bristol City
Bury 0-2 Bristol City
Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Bristol City
Bristol City 2-2 Cagliari

Summer Transfers
In:
Simone Calvano (MC) - £1.5M from Genoa
Lenny Nangis (ST) - £2.4M from Empoli
David Jones (MLC) - £1.6M from Rangers
Michael Turner (CB) - £1.4 from Aston Villa

Out:
Brian Howard - Released
Ryan Taylor - Released
Aaron Holloway - Loan to Neath
Jon Stead - £425K to Crystal Palace
Dean Gerken - £1M to Ipswich
Martyn Woolford - £1.6M to West Brom
Henry Muggeridge - Released
Joe Edwards - Released

Verdict: Decent pre-season results and a fairly satisfying summer with regards to transfers. Excited by the prospect of 'wonderkid' Lenny Nangis. A little annoyed I was unable to bring in another goalkeeper after letting Dean Gerken leave after constantly moaning about not getting first team football and with Brad Friedel retiring at the end of the coming season.

The fixture list sure has been unkind to us, with our first 5 games against Tottenham, Everton, Liverpool, Man United and Man City!

August
16.8.14 Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Bristol City (Kilkenny)

Verdict: Very good result to kick off the campaign.

26.8.14 League Cup 2nd Round
Millwall 0-2 Bristol City (Rhodes, Jones)

Verdict: Battled well to come out on top.

30.8.14 Premier League
Everton 5-2 Bristol City (Adomah, Granqvist)

Verdict: Bad defending cost us dearly when we could have come away with something.

Monthly Review
Great point away at Tottenham and disappointed performance at Everton leaves us in 16th place on 1 point. Extremely tough month to come.

September
3.9.14 Premier League
Bristol City 1-1 Liverpool (Nangis)

Verdict: Another good point against a top side, hopefully the 1st of many for Lenny Nangis!

13.9.14 Premier League
Bristol City 0-2 Manchester United

Verdict: Wasn't to be this time, didn't play that badly.

20.9.14 Premier League (TV)
Manchester City 6-1 Bristol City (Nangis)

Verdict: Gave away some sloppy goals, but we simple couldn't handle Sergio Aguero who bagged 4.

23.9.14 League Cup 3rd Round
Brentford 1-3 Bristol City (Bolasie, Bannan, Maynard)

Verdict: Good performance, tough 4th round draw away to Chelsea.

27.9.14 Premier League
Bristol City 0-0 Blackburn Rovers

Verdict: Our 1st goalless draw since 25.2.12, over 2 1/2 years! It pulls us up to 17th.

Monthly Review
Still without a league win but we sit just outside the relegation zone.

October
4.10.14 Premier League
Bolton Wanderers 2-1 Bristol City (Johnson)

Verdict: Still searching for our 1st win after throwing away a 1 goal lead.

18.10.14 Premier League
Bristol City 3-1 Birmingham City (Kilkenny, Nangis, Walters)

Verdict: Good performance, 1st win in 8 league games.

26.10.14 Premier League (TV)
Bristol City 2-2 Fulham (Bannan, Turner)

Verdict: Should have been 2 wins in 2, but we didn't defend well.

29.10.14 League Cup 4th Round
Chelsea 5-2 Bristol City (Stewart, Bolasie)

Verdict: Chelsea took advantage of some more sloppy defending.

Monthly Review
Finally got our first win and should have followed it up with another, however we are up to 15th.

November
1.11.14 Premier League
Aston Villa 5-2 Bristol City (Calvano, Nangis)

Verdict: Our defenders really are not performing to their capabilities.

8.11.14 Premier League
Chelsea 4-2 Bristol City (Nangis, Adomah)

Verdict: 3rd away game in succession that we have scored twice and not come away with anything due to poor defending.
11.11.14 Premier League
Bristol City 1-3 Wolverhampton Wanderers (Nangis)

Verdict: Remembrance day, but one to forget for us.

22.11.14 Premier League
West Bromwich Albion 3-2 Bristol City (Nangis 2)

Verdict: Another away game where have got nothing even though we've scored twice. This needs to be addressed and quickly.

29.11.14 Premier League
Bristol City 0-2 West Ham

Verdict: Didn't play badly but more costly errors at the back.
Monthly Review
5 games, 5 defeats. An abysmal month sees drop into the relegation zone in 18th. Some massive games in December that we need to be back on form for because we have a tough January after that,

December
6.12.14 Premier League
Watford 3-3 Bristol City (Calvano 2, Nangis)

Verdict: Good to end our losing streak, but we should have won the game.

13.12.14 Premier League
Norwich City 1-3 Bristol City (Nangis, Maynard, Kilkenny)

Verdict: Much better performance defensively gives us important win.

20.12.14 Premier League
Bristol City 3-2 Sunderland (Maynard, Adomah, Walters)

Verdict: Consecutive victories moves us up to 16th.

26.12.14 Premier League
Bristol City 2-2 Arsenal (Nangis, Walters)

Verdict: Great point, now unbeaten in 4.

31.12.14 Premier League
Bristol City 3-1 Stoke City (Walters 3)

Verdict: Walters hat-trick against his former club gives us another vital win.

Monthly Review
After losing every game in November, going unbeaten in December is a remarkable improvement which sees us end 2014 in 14th. With 4 tough games ahead in January the 11 points picked up in December were a must.

January - Transfers
In:
Vito Mannone - £1.7M from Arsenal

No outgoings in January. Was really important to get a goalkeeper in with Brad Friedel retiring at the end of the season and his performances already on the slide.

3.1.15 F.A Cup 3rd Round
Crawley Town 4-0 Bristol City

Verdict: We may have made several changes but performance woefully unacceptable.

7.1.15 Premier League
Bristol City 1-4 Tottenham Hotspur (Michel Vorm O.G)

Verdict: Played poorly, 1st defeat in 6 league games.

10.1.15 Premier League
Liverpool 5-1 Bristol City (Nangis)

Verdict: Consecutive defeats drops us back to 16th.

17.1.15 Premier League
Bristol City 1-4 Everton (Bannan)

Verdict: Cannot stop leaking goals, really worrying.

24.1.25 Premier League (TV)
Manchester United 5-0 Bristol City

Verdict: Seem to be getting overawed by the bigger teams at the moment.

Monthly Review
An embarrassing F.A Cup exit followed by 4 straight defeats in the league (which were to be expected but still had hoped to cause some upsets) leaves us in 17th place, again flirting with the relegation zone.

With myself being a (BEST TEAM IN BRISTOL) Bristol Rovers fan, I'm quite enjoying looking at this story, you've done quite well.

February
4.2.15 Premier League
Blackburn Rovers 2-1 Bristol City (Maynard)
Verdict: 5 straight defeats, need to end this poor run soon.

7.2.15 Premier League
Bristol City 1-2 Manchester City (Nangis)

Verdict: Much better performance as we matched them for the majority of the game, but when you're out of form things don't swing your way. Down into 18th now.

14.2.15 Premier League
Bristol City 4-1 Bolton Wanderers (Walters, Nangis 3)

Verdict: 1st win in 7 league games lifts us straight out of the bottom three.

25.2.15 Premier League
Birmingham City 1-4 Bristol City (Nangis 2, Bannan, Kilkenny)

Verdict: Fantastic result.

Monthly Review
Great consecutive victories in the 2nd half of the month has lifted us up to 16th. Recovered well after losing 6 games in a row.

March
4.3.15 Premier League
Bristol City 4-0 Aston Villa (Walters 3, Nangis)

Verdict: Excellent win. 3rd consecutive game where we have scored 4. Up to 15th.

7.3.15 Premier League
Fulham 3-3 Bristol City (Nangis 2, Walters)

Verdict: Important not to lose but disappointed not to win.

23.3.15 Premier League (TV)
Bristol City 3-4 Chelsea (Nangis 2, Walters)
Verdict: From 1-0 down at half time, 3-1 up with 15 minutes left, so rather annoyed to have lost 4-3.

Monthly Review
Only 3 games but managed to score 10 goals, unfortunately defending deprived us of 3 wins out of 3. Still in 15th.

April
4.4.15 Premier League
Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-3 Bristol City (Walters, Johnson, Granqvist)

Verdict: Poor defending cost us again. Scored 21 goals in last 6 games.

11.4.15 Premier League
Bristol City 0-0 West Bromwich Albion

Verdict: On a day where we keep a clean sheet, we couldn't score. Typical. Had plenty of chances as well.

18.4.15 Premier League
Bristol City 1-2 Watford (Bannan)

Verdict: Poor 1st half lost us the game. Could only score when Watford were down to 10 men and still couldn't take full advantage of it.

25.4.15 Premier League
West Ham United 1-2 Bristol City (Walters, Nangis)

Verdict: Great result moves us up to 14th.

Club Announcement

Bristol City have announced that under soil heating will be installed during the summer to prevent games from being called off due to adverse weather (not that this was ever a problem).

I'm currently trying my own Bristol City (EEK with being a Rovers Fan but I don't mind it.), I'm lagging in the Championship, currently 19th, got knocked out of the league cup in the first round to Bristol Rovers on PENS < How Ironic.

Its not easy in the 1st season, no funds available and some good teams in the Championship. It can go either way, you could end up battling relegation or pushing for play-offs. I did neither and finished mid table in 11th, but I used the 1st season as a platform to build on. 2nd season I overachieved and won the Championship.
Good luck :)

Would you have a look at my current story on here.

http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/foot.../94381-going-through-ranks-england-story.html

*The Bristol City I'm trying is just to play around the England Story, when I get bored playing the England Story.

Looks a good story, lot more in depth than mine. Because I have so much to write up, doing it in depth would take forever :/
I want to start a story with the team I play for. I want editor data of the English leagues that goes to level 10-15 or something, then create my team, add them and take it from there. Can't find editor data that goes that low though

2015/2016 Season
Club Announcement:
Bristol City legend Louis Carey has retired from professional football. The centre back spent most of his career at the club making a club record 599 league appearances.

Pre-Season Friendly Results:
Darlington 0-7 Bristol City
Doxa THOI Katokopias 0-4 Bristol City
AE Limassol 0-3 Bristol City
AE Pafos 0-8 Bristol City

Summer Transfers
In:
Roger Johnson - £3M from Wolves
Michael Carrick - Free Transfer

Out:
Yala Bolasie - £900K to Reggina
Kalifa Cisse - £200K to Ipswich

Verdict: Decent pre-season results and decent tan picked up in Cyprus! Not as many signings as I would have liked, but hopefully Roger Johnson can tighten things up at the back and Michael Carrick adds some real experience to the squad.

August
15.8.15 Premier League
Bristol City 1-4 Chelsea (Thibaut Courtios O.G)

Verdict: Played well but quality finishing was the difference.

22.8.15 Premier League
Arsenal 1-0 Bristol City

Verdict: Scrappy game, Arsenal just edged it.

25.8.15 League Cup 2nd Round
Barnsley 1-4 Bristol City (Coupland, Elliott, Rhodes, Maynard)

Verdict: Comfortable win. Good for youngster Steve Coupland (CB) to score on debut.

30.8.15 Premier League (TV)
Bristol City 3-2 Everton (R.Johnson, Calvano, Walters)

Verdict: Nearly threw away a 3-goal lead, but overall played well.

12.9.15 Premier League
Leeds United 1-1 Bristol City (Nangis)

Verdict: Should be winning these games

19.9.15 Premier League

Verdict: Absolute travesty. Dominated game but we have to capitalise when on top.

23.9.15 League Cup 3rd Round
Bristol City 0-0p Burnley

Verdict: Very disappointed with this. Burnley were reduced to 10 men after 6 minutes and just put all 10 behind the ball and soaked up the pressure. Got to start putting our chances away.

26.9.15 Premier League
