An excellent season in which we finished 7th and secured Europa League football! Never thought I could bring European football to Ashton Gate. Even if it does mean starting in the 3rd qualifying round and the season starting a lot earlier than normal, I am very happy with this.

Top Scorer - Lenny Nangis 34.
Most Assists - Barry Bannan 15.
Player of the Year - Lenny Nangis 7.59 from 35 appearances.

2018/2019 Season

After achieving Europa League football last season, it is something that I am now aiming to achieve again this year. As for what I expect to achieve in the Europa League is hard to say. I would like to make through the qualification rounds and into the group stage, anything further than that would be a bonus I think.

Verdict: Happy with the signings I have made, using the majority of the available budget. £21M is more than I would have liked to pay for Carazinho but Gremio were insistent sods, hope he fulfils his potential. Baines offers some much needed cover in the left-back position and adds some experience. Zimmermann replaces Thompson in the squad. As for the departures, Elliott and Kilkenny wouldn't sign new contracts due to their little involvement with the 1st team these days, £5M for Thompson I thought was a good deal and therefore accepted the offer. However, the sale of Jones was not my decision. The chairman intervened on this one and I am none too pleased about it. It's something he hasn't done before, our financial position is OK so I am baffled as to why he done it. I've had offers of £25M for Lenny Nangis on 3 or 4 occasions and he hasn't intervened.

A mammoth 10 games in the month, so go undefeated throughout it is fantastic. The squad was tested playing a game on average less than every 3 days. Qualification to the Knockout stages secured in the Europa League with a 100% record in Group H. Set up a League Semi Final with Manchester United. At the halfway stage in the Premier League are 3rd, 3 points off of the top 2, so arguably in the title race however Champions League qualification is the target this season.
