can anybody give me player filters for 41212 tactics..and how to make striker score more in this tactics...
 
should we ever use overload or contain on this tactic btw?
 
can someone PM me or post some general screenshots of this tactic, im getting error DLing this i tried everything :S

Have to say 4-1-2-3 is the best tactic I've used so far. Started an unemployed game and won the league with Worcester in my first season by a fair few points, then got offered the port vale job and saved them from relagation first season, then won the league by a big margin second season with them. Now been offered the fulham job and took charge of them in the last game of the season in the premiership where they had already been relegated and won at home 3 - 0.

2 league wins in 3 seasons with 2 unfancied teams using the player filters given and some shrewd loan signings isn't bad!

I'll post up screenshots shortly. I've always found the key to getting good players whichever team you are is to have an assistant manager with as high a judging player ability rating as possible. I use him as a second filter for when my scouts find players. Obviously he needs to have a high enough rating in tactical knowledge to be able to suggest opposition instructions.

I use fm genie scout to find coaches for me but frankly I can never be bothered entering stats into spreadsheets as it takes too long.

I think I may start a diary actually. Saves clogging up this thread.

As other people have said before, the benefits of altering Mr Hough and JP Woody's tactic are great. I've used it to make a 4-4-2 before, and that was remarkable with Spurs, winning the League and the League Cup in the first season.

After reading this thread on FM Britain earlier - http://forums.fm-britain.co.uk/index.php?topic=11219.0 about Dunga's tactics it got me thinking how I could use what I consider to be the ultimate tactic (Mr Hough and JP's joint venture) to make an assymetric tactic.

I just made a few minor changes, dropping the right hand forward into the AMR position, the deep lying forward into the AMC position and the left hand centre mid into the ML position. I then changed some of the team instructions and player instructions to suit this wider style formation.

I tried it out with Brazil, admittedly I've only played one game so far and I realise that you can't make definitive judgments on tactics after just 1 game (especially if you're using probably the best team in the game) but I'm just doing it for my own enjoyment. Brazil had total domination as you can see in the screenshot.

I'll continue playing with this and try to fix any weaknesses I see. Mr Hough and JP again for this tactic as it opens doors for people like me (clumsy rugby fans on their first installment of the FM series) to enjoy some success.

is this tactic for fm 2009? :d

i cant seem to be able to shout (touchline instr.), and the team instructions are poor. also, there's no "complete forward, ball winning mid'fielder, box-2-box mid'fielder"-etc options to choose .. dont get it :o
 
does anyone find that by the third season your losing games you should be winning?

out of fustration and anger i just quit as atletico manager.
We won la liga in my second season but this season we lost the super cup to getafe after being 2-0 up, we lost to sporting lisbon after being 2-0 up, and we lost to espanyol despite having 20 odd shots to their 7!!
 
Just a quick follow up really, I basically cleaned out the whole of my fulham squad after taking over after they were relegated. Literally sold everyone bar the goalie tim krul who fitted the player filter. They were about 8 million in debt orginally, now they have a healty 40 million in the bank and I spent around 16 million quid on 24 players. I'm 5 games in....won 4 drawn 1 and am smashing it. Big congrats for such an awesome tactic.
 
First game with Bayern against Werder Bremen and i lost 4:1...
Second one i played against Schalke and won 4:0
I arranged a friendly game against them just a few days after start and doesnt change the settings but i change the outside striker into winger...
But i think it doesnt matter cause the defense is still bad... i'll try some other game and post the result then
 
You have to give the tactic some time, it doesnt work instantly.
 
I know that it does not work instantly... but the opponent hasnt played a game too...
I tried the other tactic based on Mr. Houghs (from 2022 i think...) and he made some changes on the defensive work and it worked better... just the same scenario and i won 4:0 and 3:1... results are the one but the teams played much more harmony and the defense was more stabile.. and i created much more chancen...
i had to change the striker to winger and so i cant rate the original tactic...
 
As Dan said, it doesn't work instantly regardless of if the opponent hasn't played either. The defence is solid as long as you give it a few games for the players to get used to it and don't keep changing tactics.
 
i start a new game again^^ so there was quite the same condition..
however i said my rating was just a side note
 
Hey boys and girls, I'm working on a new 4-1-2-1-2 at the minute which is about 80% complete just got some niggaling problems that i want to iron out but apart from that everything is going great.

First season with everton currently 1st after 33 games 7 points clear of 2nd and 9 points clear of 3rd.

I'll post some screens up at the end of the season.

Brilliant tactic mate! I'm pretty n00by to FM, but I just started a game with England and got them to win the cup with my own tactics, but I was offered a job at Stoke (they were 20th at the time) and nothing I tried worked -- just used this and beat Bolton 1-0 in the FA cup 5th round, and Man U 3-2 in the league!
 
I'm really struggling with this tactic after one season. The tactic doesn't seem to work anymore. The pc,AI or whatever you call it, seems to have cracked the tactic. So my question is, what should i do after the tactic is cracked? I tried tweaking it a bit but it doesn't seem to work.

Hey mate.

We all have faith in you :D

I have been using your 4-1-2-3 and 4-1-2-1-2 in FM Live, and its doing pretty good :)

So when you update your 4-1-2-1-2 i'll happily try it out there :D
