Mr Langvatn FM16 Tactic Center

SI and Miles like every year release game when is not ready and then problems hapen.

I created tactic and I won title with Leicester and Sociedad and still I am not hapy with amount of stupid goals what I receive.

curent match engine is disaster but on SI forum everthing is exelent because they dont care what we think and if you post something bad you dont know how to play.

playing this type of game more then 15 years I know what I am saying,

curent match engine is **** it is not problem that game is hard I want that is even harder but I dont acept stupid goal and stupid errors.

how to explain casual players that all tactics are like Rusian rulet and everthing is posible

Agree with that. This ME is unplayable at the moment. I'm conceding the same types of goals no matter what tactic I use. Either crosses from out wide where my fullback does nothing or long balls over the top of my CBs.

Far too many yellow/red cards and injuries are insane this year.

FM16 needs a patch, big time.

I've been using the 4-1-4-1 tactic at Tranmere Rovers and I have to say it's really good! Unlike some of the others I've seen posted in this thread that you've created, Mr L, the roles are basic enough that the players of a lower level understand them and are able to carry them out.

The 3-4-3 Heavy Metal tactic looks really good but it's near impossible to find False 9's any lower than about League 1 level.

I guess in conclusion, these tactics are really good but it'd be great if you could post more that work at a truly low level, ones with extremely basic player roles, like the 4-1-4-1. Testing tactics in the Premier League is all well and good but not everybody plays at that level. :)

I simply don't have enough time to test in several different test databases :) As most people play in the Premier League, this is the league I have chosen for my test. Perhaps I can expand in the final patch of the game, but there is no point doing even more work at this time, as patches will come by frequently and destroy my test results and tactics.

The 4-1-4-1 works in the Premiership and also on a low level. I totally understand about not being able to test in the lower leagues, but as long as the roles are basic, they will also work in lower leagues.

I guess what I'm saying is, can you create more tactics that don't have over-complicated roles like False 9's, Complete Wing Backs, Ramdeuters, Enganche, etc.? For people who play in lower leagues it would be really good and I'm sure they will work in higher leagues, too.

Basic roles like wide midfielder, winger, inside forward, wing back, deep lying forward and target man are the types of roles that don't require the player to do that much. You don't need to test in the Vanarama Conference, for example, to know that tactics with these roles will work in lower divisions. :)

thanks for the advice about using the 4-1-4-1 for lower leagues was using the 3-4-3 for my Guiseley save, won my first two and then i got 7 injuries and have lsot since then ill try the 4-1-4-1

i guess u mean the 4-4-1-1 not 4-1-4-1 as its not on the list

It's the best tactic I have come across for use in LLM. I'm having unbelievable success with it at Tranmere Rovers, managed to win the Vanarama National and am now top of League 2 the following season and 13 points clear in December. :)

I haven't tried the 3-4-3 but I'd guess it doesn't work too well in LLM because the roles it requires are not roles the players are good at.

I don't think the 4-1-4-1 is in the OP anymore, I'll post it when I get home later if you like.

Wierd, im not experiencing ANY of these things at all. I find it very enjoyable atm. Showed a screenshot of my seaon start with Liverpool, getting near january transfer window now, and still on top of the league. Even against the big teams, its performing SO AWESOME.

4-0 win vs United - away.
3-0 win vs City - home
2-2 draw vs Chelsea - away
5-1 win vs United - away (capital cup but they were not using reserves)

yes please and thank you

Hey Mr L, so I named my *** Mgr after you because your tactic saved my job.

But what I'm finding is when I go to away games, I sometimes concede because not all my defenders are world class. Which tactic do you recommend to close out games and prevent the opposing team from scoring late in the game?

I'm currently using 4-2-3-1 Spin the Wheel, which is really successful for me so far, but I get a lot of yellow cards for my defenders and sometimes concede late in the game. HALP?

giving the 4-2-3-1 a spin with Man utd. keeping the 4-4-1-1 as an alternative, going okay so far with 3 matches played, only worry is a tons of injuries, beside that i know these tactics should be demanding on the players fitness, I can vouch for that, which makes me wonder how a lower team would work out, with traning facilitties and trainers with much lower quality...

If you keep the training on Fitness and Match Training on Defensive Positioning, you're good. I started using 4-2-3-1 in the middle of my first season when I was facing the sack, and it saved my job AND I won the Europa (got knocked out of CL at Qualification stage by Fenerbahce).

In the new season, I'm in October, and my record in all competitions is P-9, W-8, D-1, L-0
In the league, the record is P-6, W-5, D-1, L-0, GF-16, GA-3, GD-13. My goal difference is higher than the number of goals 14 other teams have scored.

The latest 4-4-2 (Heavy Metal) is very good defensively, but its quite a different formation than the 4-2-3-1, it wouldn't exactly fit so well. What you could do, is try to make another backup-version of the tactic, made to waste time.

I have now tried to put together some of your tactics

3-4-3 Heavy metal
5-3-2 Spin the wheel
4-4-1-1 Spin the wheel
4-2-3-1 Spin the wheel

and I have come to a tactic which I really liked.

have not played many matches with the tactic yet..

I tried instant results, and the results are too mixed.. then I played it in the old way (H)

Ohh i know how important, training is, and can be - and i plan to stick to it, as a tactic may take some games to work fully as intended :)

Thanks, I'll give it a shot ... I actually downloaded another tactic to try ... waiting for team to get familiar with it.

Another thing I'm thinking is that I should change the central defenders' player instructions -- disable "Tackle harder". I'm getting too many cards, but do you think it could affect the tactic too much?

A difficult away game

Hi Rasmus!

First of all, great that you experiement with the tactics, this is the sort of thing that contributes information towards even better tactics :)

Could you please share with us the league table after a/the first season? When we test tactics, we want to know in advance that they hold up in the long run, as this tactic test is quite tough. It's definitely not a top team test.

I've taken your offensive line of the 3-4-3 and merged it with the defensive line of TFF Predator. Seems alright atm
