Mr Langvatn's Tactic Thread (Updated for 13.3.3)

Balanced/Def.pos or att.mov was what I recommended for the Rock I think. Or you mean Rich Genie's match prep and training? It's still in the OP. Now I am experimenting a bit, and training has nothing to do with the match results, it only increases certain stats. Check this guide:

General Training | Football Manager 2013 Guide

Ok, Wich one of the settings do you personally recommend? Isnt Rich Genies match prep more for talent growth?

thanks for feedback!

Hi Mr Langvatn,

First of all i would like to say im loving your 2-5-3 DDDMC Angels v2, i have a question on the stratergy it says overload do i have to change this depending who i am playing?

Thanks for the tactic :)

Which is the best formation to change to for when you are losing at the end of the game and try to be over-attacking (as it doesn't really matter if you concede then since you will get 0 points either way :P )? Normally I'm using Rock Classic TC version.

And still a question about the new corner setup, should the best header be on near post flick on and 2nd best on challenge keeper or vice versa? I assume 3rd best on attack far post?

I recommend training like the one in the screenshots, at the top of the front page.

Its interesting to read about who people are playing with and their successes. I'm in my second season with Hayes and Yeading with a completely new squad save a couple of players. I saw the OP about using rock classic and sicilian defence for specific games and when I employed both tactics, and then tried the 100% fluid training....my results improved massively.

Its not till I read that changing too many players will play havoc with your results that everything becomes clearer to me now.

Funny thing is I never paid attention to when I've seen that piece of information. Maybe that goes some way to explaining why I went unbeaten for my first 10 or so games in my 1st season...then signed a few players and then wham.....ended up 5th.

It highlights the case even more when I look at my second season, having made even more signings and chopping and changing my squad that my results were pretty poor until I switched to having the sicilian defence for away games / underdog games and rock classic for home / favorite games....and crucially, deployed the 100% fluid training. Now my players would "die for each other" and due to a late surge, sneaked into the last playoff position in Blue Square North, where I beat Welling 5-1 in the playoff final.

I've essentially wasted a season trying to too much with player signings when I should have stuck with what I had (even though the suggestion of using the above two tactics in different situations appeared only in my second season).

I'll be interested to see what happens when I start the season using the updated "techniques" if you like in the Blue Square Premier.

Sorry for boring everyone to death. Just showing that you don't need megastars or rich clubs to make use of these formations. It works for the minnows to....if you manage correctly.....see the OP - "Squad management" quote.

Fantastic information contained within this thread. Well done to all!

don't change it, or anything. the overload strat is only there to have quicker passing, as the mentalities are set individually anyway. changing this will only affect the passing then.

My 2-5-3 angels V2 is the tac which scores the most goals, so this one then. best header on flick on, 2nd best challenge keeper. 3rd best go forward. 4th best attack far post. ish. most important is 1st and 2nd.

how to play pirlo, marchisio, vidal in 2-5-3 V2 tactic i mean where to play who (left side centre right side) ??

Thanks for sharing your story and thoughts :) Yeah, too many managers sign too many players and end up with consistency issues, and blaming the tactics :) Not happened much on my thread, but my Rock and Sicilian Defense are made to work for lower teams too, so naturally they often work decent without team blend too.

ok i yust ask because i see that dmc have defensive mentality and other things diferent!

Why you make problems, where are not?

Pirlo the middle one, the playmaker...other midfielders to RCM/LCM it really doesnt matter. This midfield is similar to conte midfield in 3-5-2.

Although, i feel more safer with defensive midfielder on MC position.

Top team = 2-5-3 Angels V2

Where do 4-1-4-1 Rock Classic / 3-6-1 Sicilian Defense fit into this?

Which one of them for underdog and which for even match?
