Mr Langvatn's Tactic Thread (Updated for 13.3.3)

Really? Is that the best one out there? :S
Your mileage may vary but I had great success with it before I started using Rock. There are some fairytale stories in that thread too ("I got Leeds promoted and won the Premier League with them the following season" etc.)

Ok.. I'll test it then. But I highly doubt it has any chance compared to the rocks.

With all respect Mr L but seanhrfc‎ tactic "is the best tactic in this year's game". Sorry but this is true.

We will see how it does, but like I said, I very much doubt it can compete with any of my rock tactics. Arrigo Sacchi 4-4-2 is just a standard 4-4-2 tactic without any individual settings. Of course, this may work well, but I have my doubts :) I will upload the results when I'm done testing.

MR L - do you think it is possible to create a tactic as solid as 'Rock' tactic with AML/R?

In Classic Rock tactic, what players do we have to put in playmaker?

7-1-2 so far with Arrigo Sacchi. If it is to beat the rock classic, it has to win all the rest of the matches..

people should just stop saying "this or this tactic is the best". I think you can see where a tactic is actually quality. Rock is high quality, Arrigo Sacchi is also quality, modern warfare was quality if we look at people's results (even if I never tested it). There is such a huge RGN in that game that you could save/load a game 20 times and get very different stats.

I just hate when people come in a trade, claiming than something else is better without any reason but because it had better results for them.

I'm not even sure there is a real way to really compare 2 different tactics. Maybe a huge sample like playing 10 times the 1st season with a tactic, then doing the same with the other tactic, and see what's giving better results in average.

I also noticed that some tactics may not work as well in some championships. For example, the 4-2-3-1 is something standard in Bundesliga, while something like narrow 4-2-2-2 or 3-3-2-2 is standard in Brazilian league.

Anyway, the rock tactic is a good one. Probably not the best for everyone, but for most it seems to be the 13.3.3 leader.

8-1-3 now, so it's already out of the "title" race. Will finish the 20 games and upload results like the others, but my assumptions were correct. Arrigo is a decent tactic, but not a great one.

You are correct about the RNG. However, if testing each tactic over a full season, with the exact same schedule (template game), the results will give a good clue about which tactics are good or bad.

A season with a good tactic can be totally screwed by so many things, like injury crisis for example, or mistakes in team rotation (that happens to me too much for my taste :p)

or a Balotelli destroying your team cohesion :D

I haven't had any injury crisis on any of the games so far. Neymar was out a lot in the 4-1-4-1 Rock Classic save, but it went well anyway. The rock does well even with the "backup" players.

So just to clarify, the roles that the players are playing in the classic rock are all exactly the same as they were in the original rock?

So the striker is still a poacher etc

Yeah, except that there aren't any roles, so it should be more versatile; fitting more players.
