Muamba

Really amazing support from player around the world. Luis Suarez posted on FB/Twitter:
"I want to dedicate to Muamba the goal and the FA Cup semifinals qualification. Keep fighting buddy, don't give up! You will make it!!"

It really is touching to see football uniting. My respect for Madrid has gone up

Any why is that?

Im somehow not touched by Suarez's words. Are you, people?

I don't like Suarez one bit- but I don't think this is the time or place to discuss our feelings towards him. Fair play to him for showing his support to Muamba, let's just leave it at that.

fair enough. just for the record - words written like that dont mean anything if he doesnt feel every bit of what we feel like.

Suarez is a good lad, i think people just have a bad idea because of what happened between him and Evra, and let's be honest, Evra isn't the best guy himself! But at this time, nothing of those things matter at the moment, life is way more important thn football, and it's good to see everyone, from rivals to everyone else, supporting him!

Real Madrid are more classy than that other Spanish team.

Wonder how this will affect Howard Webb too. He was visibly shaking when it all happened. Right call to give him leave of absence. I know he looked calm and in control but that sort of event happening right in front of me would really mess me up.

And on a sidenote, it's being reported that Bolton are unsure if they want to continue in the FA Cup. I can't blame them either tbh

Credit to how Webb handled it all too.

Bolton have apparently pulled out of the FA cup becuase it would be too painful for them to return to white hart lane atm in time

How do you know he doesn't feel that? You dont.

Like everyone else connected, Suarez is offering support to a fellow professional. Because at the end of the day some things are much more important than football

Anyone find it weird how in the pre/post match interviews the managers are being asked about Muamba. What's the point in it exactly, what are they expecting them to say?

you are right, I dont. but how do you know he does feel it? its my personal feeling that says 'You shouldnt trust that....... boy'. Again, its not really 'offering support' when he doesnt mean/feel what he says. Lets listen to the lad few posts back when said its not the time nor the place to talk about it. :)

Faith in humanity = restored. He has the whole world behind him, bar a few absolute **** heads who will be punished. Hoping he makes a speedy and full recovery. Just goes to show that there is a such a thing as being too fit. Thoughts are with his family.

[h=1]Fabrice Muamba tweets could land Twitter 'troll' in prison[/h]Student admits incitement to racial hatred for remarks celebrating Bolton player's collapse

A student faces jail after admitting posting offensive comments on Twitter about the on-pitch collapse of footballer Fabrice Muamba.

Liam Stacey was arrested after his tweets were reported to police by Twitter users from across Britain, including former England striker Stan Collymore.
Stacey, 21, spent Sunday night in custody and was brought before magistrates in Swansea on Monday, where he admitted incitement to racial hatred. He was released on bail on condition that he stayed off Twitter and other social networking sites and will be sentenced next week. Stacey was told he could be jailed.
The swiftness of the arrest demonstrates how seriously police forces are taking the posting of potentially criminal comments on social networking sites by so-called "trolls".
Bolton Wanderers midfielder Muamba suffered a cardiac arrest during his team's FA Cup sixth round tie at Tottenham on Saturday night.
Lisa Jones, prosecuting, said: "Fabrice Muamba collapsed on the pitch and was believed to have died. Shortly after, Stacey posted on Twitter: "LOL, **** Muamba. He's dead."
Jones said other Twitter users criticised Stacey, prompting him to post a series of other offensive and racist comments.
Swansea magistrates heard that police around Britain had Stacey's comments reported to them by users including Collymore.
The court heard Stacey tried to claim his account had been hacked. He also tried to delete his page.
He texted a friend to say: "I said something about Muamba that I shouldn't have and tweeted back to some people who abused me. Getting police on me now, which isn't good at all."
Police arrested him on Sunday in Swansea. When interviewed, Stacey said he was drunk after drinking since early afternoon on Saturday while watching the Wales v France Six Nations rugby match.
He told police: "I was at the bar when I heard what had happened to Muamba.
I don't know why I posted it. I'm not racist and some of my friends are from different cultural backgrounds."
Stacey, a biology undergraduate, was close to tears as the evidence was given about his tweets. The case was adjourned for reports to be prepared.
He was told that all sentencing options would be considered, including custody.
Muamba remained in a critical but stable condition on Monday morning.

Ah the old "I'm not racist some of my friends are from different backgrounds" defence. Somehow won't work. Deserves all he gets.
