My best tactic for FM14

I am going to test with west ham tomorrow to see if I can give squad advice and evaluation

Well that's interesting: I tried it your way and learned the tactic extremely quickly, but according to the so called experts it's supposed to be slower.

I'll let you know how I get on with the tactic.

Have been playing Football Manager since CM 92 but the past few years have frustrated me with tactics. I simply dont have the time to dedicate to the game to tweak around with my own tactics in order to get it right. I miss the days of picking a shape, putting the players in and letting it go.

I have to wait a couple of months post release usually before I can find a kind user to post a tactic which works and makes the game fun for me.

This year.....that user is you kind Sir. Started a game with Norwich (as I always do when the game comes out)......wasnt doing too bad but drawing and losing too many games (not as many as Chris Hughton I might add). Switched to your tactic tonight and went on an immediate 9 game unbeaten run including draws at table topping Chelsea, and Totnim and a home win against Man Utd.

Just lost my first game of the evening away to Southampton but have enjoyed the game for the first time since buying it.

Well this isn't working for me atm. The tactic is fluent - PL6, W2, D2, L2 and it isn't like we've even been playing well and drawing/losing, in fact one victory was a real struggle, at home, against a poor side. For the record, I have a very good LFC side.

After reading this thread I'm beginning to wonder if SI just hate LFC. I do recall somebody in SI towers being an avid Evertonian from way back in the CM days ;) also, Man Utd have been absolutely incredible in my game, they won the first season by 94 points and have started the second season with 6 wins in 6 games having conceded one goal. I've never seen an AI team do that well.

I've also noticed that whoever I put as captain, apart from Gerrard, seems to turn into a non league player, no matter how good there stats are for that position.


Edit - I just realised that in your op it says that the forward should be a F9 but the tactic I've dl'd is a CF. Which is it supposed to be?

Edit again - I changed to F9 and I've scored 18 goals in 3 games with Suarez getting 8 of them.

Edit - Make that 23 in 4 games. Did my game break? :D

There should be no c.f. In the tactic this must be an error in the upload and I will repair this as soon as I get to my pc,

Is anyone else getting severely outplayed in some matches? If so, do you change anything in such matches or do you just let whatever happens happen?

Also, is the passing-type of corner use considered cheating?
 
See when players moan about their training schedule do u change it or just leave it got a lot of unhappy players

Lost Capital One Cup to ManUtd in 3rd round. goddamnit! 3rd ****** round!! ManUtd?!
Lost FA Cup to Liverpool in 6th round replay.
Lost Europa League to Monaco 3-1 in aggregate.

Hope the board will be "generous" enough in summer.

Which team are you using?

If you are using a tactic with a complete forward this was a mistake when I uploaded, I will be fixing this today.

I have started a save as west ham now, initial evaluation of the squad would signal an aging squad, with a severe lack of depth in midfield especially for this type of formation. a poor keeper and yep, as you say west ham IS extremely poor :(

I will run a 10 match test to see how it goes xD cant believe this team have media prediction of 13th

not gonna lie, west ham do not suit this tactic at all,

also the board should be lined up and shot, joe cole, a winger with 10 pace on 50 grand a week wtf im faster than that lol

this is up to you mate, I usually just ignore players whining about workload, it shows a lack of professionalism

10 games gone, sitting 7th with west ham
unlucky to loose to newcastle in cup, beat arsenal at home and drew with man city away
I have no idea what happened against everton they just lucked out against us, the early sending off didnt help lol
keeper joint top on clean sheets :D

west hams team does not fit this tactic or any other I would be able to suggest, they are awful and the lack of finance available doesnt help. A very patient approach would be needed to bring them back to glory
 
Just got ruined by Chelsea 3-0 at home, with Tottenham in my 2nd season. 1.5 of the goals came from set pieces. First half we outplayed them, but then they hit back. Had my LB and CB injured before match, maybe it was that.

I'll post my table when the season is over.


Edit: Any suggestions for away matches? I just checked away table and while I'm 1st at home, I'm 5th at away, so there's obviously a problem there.

And also, I'd like to repeat my question; Is it considered cheating having the pass-type use of corner? Tough, g*d knows how much I conceded from set pieces, ridiculous throw ins etc... Just wanted to clear my conscience.
