NEW MAN IN TOON!

Newcastle United have named rookie Jamie Orrell as their new manager after Chris Hughton left the club.

Hughton walked out after a dispute with owner Mike Ashley over transfer funds and it now appears Orrell will be charged with avoiding relegation without a sizeable transfer kitty to hand.

Orrell has been handed a 1 year deal and will aim to keep Newcastle up this season.

NEW BOYD!

Kris Boyd has ended a summer of transfer speculation by signing for Newcastle United.

The 25-year-old striker has been subject of much interest since his Ranger's contract expired but now Newcastle have won the race to sign the Scottish poacher.

Boyd has signed a 3-year-deal on Tyneside and will wear the famous number 9 shirt.

Newcastle have offloaded two flops after Xisco and Leon Best joined Valencia and West Brom respectively.

Spanish striker Xisco will move to the Mestalla for £2.5m while Best joins West Brom for £1m.

Newcastle have completed their 2nd summer signing after Robert Koren joined on a free transfer.

The Slovenian captain was released by West Brom at the end of the season but has now joined another promoted club.

Newcastle have signed Dan Gosling and Patrick Van Aanholt on season long loan deals.

Gosling joins from Everton for a loan fee of £1.6m with an option to make the deal permanent.

Van Aanholt returns after a month on Tyneside last season for £925K with an option to make the deal permanent.

ERDINC JOINS NEWCASTLE!

Newcastle have completed their first big money transfer of the summer after Turkish striker Mevlut Erdinc joined from PSG for £5.75m.

The 22-year-old has signed a 4-year-contract after falling out with club officials in Paris. Erdinc will wear the number 14 shirt.
