Poor, poor start to the season with two unlucky results with late sucker punch goals. It seemed we missed chances and decisions went against us in both games. However aftyer that two average performances earned us two wins to slavage a disasterous first month. I am pleased that Cvani grabbed a hat-trick against Oxford to help him settle in while Andy Carroll has 2 league goals already.

How does Carroll develop. Is he Premiership quality just he's my 3rd choice atm and I'm unsure whether I should try and develop him more or whether it isn't worth it.

A statement on nufc.co.uk has confirmed that Chris Hughton has left the club after only a year at the helm.
Hughton cited the failure to secure a new deal as his reason for leaving Tyneside. The Irishman only had a year remaining on his current deal and was the lowest paid manager in the Premier League.
Hughton will be remembered fondly after guiding Newcastle to the Championship trophy with 102 points last season.
The race to find a replacement is now on with Martin O'Neill, David O'Leary and Alan Curbishley among the favourites for the job.
