Still polar opposites in home and away form hindering the club's chance of a top half finish. Dosn't get much better than Erdinc's winner against the mackums sensational! We were terrible against Fulham but unlucky at Spurs and Birmingham while Andy Carroll has led by example this month with some outstanding performances.

TOON SIGN WING DUO!

Newcastle have confirmed the double signing of Fode Mansare and Juan Angel Albin.

The Uruguayan Albin joins on a free transfer after his contract expired with Spanish club Getafe.

The 23-year-old has scored 3 goals in 6 appearances for his country.

Guinea international Fode Mansare had been transfer listed by current club Toulouse and joins the Toon for a cut price £950k deal.

The 28-year-old has made 25 appearances for his country scoring 9 goals.

BARTON IN BAR BRAWL!

Joey Barton's Newcastle career has again been plunged into doubt after an incident in Tiger Tiger nightclub in the city.

The Scouse yob had to be restrained by Police after an argument with a 21-year-old outside the bar.

Newcastle manager Jamie Orrell has so far refused to comment on Barton's future but it appears this may be the last straw for the Tyneside club.

January in Review

Probably the best month of my tenure so far with a memorable win over Man Utd. The Red Devil's were outclassed and outplayed with Erdinc the star. Every other game in the month was quite tight with the old goal desiding the games. I am very happy with the new signings of Albin and Mansare both of whom impressing in their couple of appearances but keeping Gutierrez was the biggest plus and he responded with great form during January.

February in Review

Three great away wins to banish our travel sickness especially the 4-0 hammering of Birmingham in the FA Cup. The impact of Juan Albin has been immense and alongside Mevlut Erdinc he has definitely been the star this month. We are now looking at a top half finish and in my opinion our points total deserves a higher spot. We are 23 points above the relegation zone but only 10 points off the Champions League.

Season in Review

A great season that ended with a top half finish. Very happy with that finish after only a net spend of £2.75m and the target of avoiding relegation. I will look to build towards Europe next season hopefully with a bit more money to spend and my young stars such as Gosling, Carroll, Steven Taylor and Krul will be older and better.

JONAS TO LEAVE?

Newcastle have received two offers of £7m for Argentine winger Jonas Gutierrez and manager Jamie Orrell is debating whether to allow Jonas to leave St James Park.

The silky wide-man has been unhappy at St James Park and put in a transfer request in January.

Newcastle have also confirmed that Ryan Taylor will join West Brom on a permanent deal.

Alan Smith, Peter Lovenkrands, Fode Mansare, Danny Simpson and Kris Boyd have all moved on with many Newcastle fans questioning manager Orrell's judgement.

Smith, Lovenkrands and Boyd in particular have all become fan favourites on Tyneside and will be missed by the Toon Army.

Newcastle manager Jamie Orrell cushioned the blow of fan favourite Jonas Gutierrez leaving for Marseille by announcing the signing of talented frenchman Etienne Capoue from Toulouse.

27-year-old Jonas has left after two years on Tyneside for a £7m fee. While Capoue moves from France to St James Park for £5m.
