Good performance from the lads, the result really doesn't reflect on the game.

Manchester United 2-1 Norwich City
(Dybala)

United simply finished better than us.

Transfer Update

So going into the transfer window, Huckerby had several main positions he was looking to upgrade. The majority of it was the defense and then a few backup players in other positions.

IN:

View attachment 304791

Joe Caldecott - A young player bought by our new Head of Youth Development. He didn't cost a lot and so we can try and improve him without any pressure.

View attachment 304790

Sead Kolasinac - Our new first choice left back. Had been scouting this guy for 6 months. In the end had to battle with Real Madrid and AS Roma, first team football was obviously a factor in his decision.

View attachment 304788

Seamus Coleman - Our new first choice right back. Almost bought Seamus the season before but this move means Micah Richards can be moved inside if needs be.

View attachment 304787

Lucas Silva - Wasn't looking for a new central midfielder, however due to PSG meeting Romero's release clause, a replacement was needed. Silva is a more than capable player to fit in to the team.

View attachment 304785

Terence Kongolo - Another player that had been picked out a while ago. Has the ability to play at centre back and left back and so will be a useful squad player.

View attachment 304783

Suso - With Adama Traore and Origi returning to their clubs, Suso has been brought in to cover the attacking positions with his ability to play all across the attacking positions.

View attachment 304781

Harry Kane - A much needed addition. He brings in something different to what Grabban and Dybala offer, and will offer competition.

View attachment 304779

So as you can see, Olsson and Romero were the main departures from the club but both have been suitably replaced.

Major Transfers elsewhere

Louis van Gaal retired, Jurgen Klopp taking over at Manchester United and they've been very busy in the market.

Mateo Kovacic - AS Monaco to Manchester City £36.5million
Sergi Samper - PSG to Manchester United £33.5 million
Gervinho - AS Roma to Manchester United £16.5million

The Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Norwich City
(Murphy, Kane)

A goal on his debut for Kane against his old side as Norwich beat the defending Premier League Champions on the first day of the season. The new defense was brilliant.

Norwich City 5
-1 Sunderland
(Redmond, Alli, Dybala, Grabban (2))

Excellent performance, Grabban coming off of the bench to remind everyone of his ability.

QPR 3-5 Norwich City
(Murphy (3), Odegaard (2))

A superb performance from Josh Murphy, whom Norwich have turned several offers from Chelsea for. We could have easily lost this game, the scoreline flatters us.

The Europa League

View attachment 304776

A tough group as we look to make moves in Europe. Will need to be at our best to get through the group stages, aiming for 10 points.

League Table and Stats

View attachment 304766

Top of the League after 3. All the new signings have gelled into the team and way of playing really well, Lucas Silva is still to make his debut too after being injured on National Duty with Brazil.

You've done a brilliant job to turn Norwich into a top Premiership team so quickly! Really looking forward to see how you get on this season in Europe!!

It's totally taken me by surprise. Last season we struggled around Christmas with a squad which couldn't cope. Am hoping there's enough quality in the side to handle the extra games that Europe brings.

So 2nd in the league. I don't think we have the quality to beat Chelsea this year but there is no reason why we shouldn't be aiming for a Champions League spot.

(Alli, Schar)

A much better performance against a really strong side.

Leicester City 1-1 Norwich City
(Murphy)

We truly robbed them here.

Everton 4-3 Norwich City
(Dybala (2), Schar)

We seem to have forgotten how to defend!

Switched to a 3-5-2 formation and it worked as we win at the end of the year.

The Carling Cup

The Barclays Premier League

Norwich City 4-1 Tottenham Hotspur
(Kane (2), Murphy (2))

A great way to start 2017, Kane scoring twice against his old club.

Sunderland 1-1 Norwich City
(Dybala)

A hard fought point, should be doing better against teams like Sunderland however, and this shows how far we've come to be disappointed.

Norwich City 1-1 QPR
(Dybala)

See above!

Southampton 1-1 Norwich City
(Dybala)

A really good performance against a strong Southampton side.

Norwich City 2-1 Hull City
(Suso, Schar)

A really good win to end our drawing run.

Norwich City 5-2 West Ham United
(Suso (3), Schar (2))

We finish the month in the same way as we started it, by battering a London club. Suso scored a 20 minute hattrick. Was a crazy match though, three of our goals were from the penalty spot.

The FA Cup Third Round

Norwich City 1-1 Stoke City (Redmond)
Stoke City 2-2 Norwich City (Kane (2))

Stoke City win 3-0 on penalties.

So whilst we are down in 7th, our run in looks reasonably ok and if we get a run going I feel my target of 5th is still possible.

Still a slender chance of 4th! keep it up mate, had some brilliant results this season!

There's no chance of 4th! Not consistent enough In the league and think the players are being distracted by the European games.

Nice story here mate! Norwich are genuinely challenging for the top 4 on my save! And I'm Liverpool haha!

Norwich City have today announced that star striker Paulo Dybala will move to French Giants AS Monaco for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £25 million.

View attachment 301910

Manager Darren Huckerby had the following to say; ''We didn't want to sell but we really had no choice. Paulo came to me last week and mentioned that he wanted the move, and having rejected their first offer, he really kicked off a fuss. I blame it on his agent, he's only a young lad so you can't blame the player for wanting more money. We will now focus, as we have been doing, on improving the squad so that its capable to fight on all fronts this upcoming season''.
