Before
After getting this far in the cup, Palermo knew that they had a really good chance of going all the way, but first they had to deal with a stubborn Parma side.

After
Things looked up for Palermo in this tie, after Lukaku headed home after just 3 minutes. But Palermo couldn't break through, and Parma hit them on a counter attack, levelling the scores.
Palermo continued to push but it almost cost them on 89 minutes as Parma hit the bar. Eden Hazard made his debut today and looked impressive, scoring on 99 minutes but it was ruled out for off side.
As the game looked to be heading for penalties, Tireless Lukaku broke through the defence, skipped around the keeper and buried the ball into the net to give Palermo the win
 
Simeone: I'll destroy you!

Diego Simeone has declared his side will crush Palermo in the up coming derby game, insisting that he personally sees it as his goal to humiliate Palermo's manager, Mr Drezzy.
When Mr Drezzy was asked to reply, Mr Drezzy said he would like to keep talking to a minimum and let the football do the talking

In the quarter finals, there was a huge shock, as unfancied Spal defeated Holders Inter Milan 1-0 in the San Siro. Inter dominated the game but couldn't find the net, where as Fofana scored a brilliant header. Spal reach their first ever Semi Final

Napoli scraped through, after beating Bari. Bari took a 2 goal lead but were torn apart by Marek Hamsik, who set up all 3 goals.

Palermo are also through, after beating Parma 2-1. They were favourites to progress but had to go to extra time to win the game, after a nail biting finale

And in form Genoa stunned Juventus, scoring the only goal of the game.

Deep down, Mr Drezzy wanted a win over Diego Simeone, and so did the fans.

After
Catania controlled the match, and took the lead on 20 minutes, Bonaventure scoring a brilliant chip. But Palermo hit back with new boy Gilardino scoring his first goal for the club. But Catania regained the lead on 42 minutes, Maxi Lopez blasting the ball into the bottom corner, delighting the home fans.
It wasn't until the 75th minute that Palermo started to pick up, and on 78, new boy Henrique headed home to tie the scores. Palermo would settle for a point, but Eden Hazard had different ideas, scoring a scorcher from 25 yards out on 84 minutes, giving Palermo the derby win

Acquah wasn't progressing as quickly as Mr Drezzy would have liked, and once Ajax came in with a €1 Million bid, he was promptly sold to the dutch outfit

Alberto Gilardino was offered to Palermo, but for a hefty price. At first Palermo didn't follow through with a bid, but then put another bid in of €1.2 Million, with more to be paid over 48 months. After some time, Fiorentina accepted the bid and Gilardino was happy to join Palermo

Henrique is touted to be a top player, and after it emerged that he would consider a move to Palermo, they put in a bid. After 3 rounds of negotiations Palermo offered €2.5 Million, plus payments over 48 months. Santos agreed to the sale, and Henrique joined Palermo

Fofana wasn't making any waves at Arsenal, and he was offered to Palermo on loan. Palermo have heard good things about the player, and if his loan proves to be successful, he may find himself a Permanent fixture at Palermo

Eden Hazard
Eden Hazard was linked with Arsenal for the past couple of years, but they never came through with a bid. After speaking with Lukaku, Eden Hazard asked Mr Drezzy to put a bid in for him. After a few days of negotiations, Eden Hazard was a Palermo player, costing €1.7 Million upfront, with further payments over 48 months.

Deals that didn't make it

Gareth Bale: Tottenham -> Palermo: Tottenham refused 2 bids for Bale, the second bid totalling €22 Million

Giovanni Critofari: Palermo -> Napoli. Both teams agreed a fee for the player, but Critofari couldn't agree personal terms

Pajtim Kasami: Paleremo -> Juventus. Palermo rejected 3 approaches from Juventus for Kasami, Juventus wanted to strike a co ownership deal

Sonny Kittel: Frankfurt -> Palermo. Frankfurt rejected a €1.4 Million bid from Palermo

Before
Cesena were a team battling relegation, and a team that Palermo should be beating.

After
Palermo really made this game hard work for them selves, but the tireless Lukaku was there to save Palermo blushes, scoring from 30 yards out. Palermo won, just.

Before
Palermo found themselves near the top of the table, but knew Genoa were a team on the up and player extremely well this season.

After
Palermo got off to a flying start after Galeano headed home after 2 minutes, but from then on, it was mostly Genoa. On 44 minutes, Lukaku had the ball in the net but it was ruled out, for offside. Replays show the official got the decision right.
Dainelli finally scored for Genoa to equal the scores. Palermo held on and find them selves in 3rd

Lazio were having a terrible season, but results had started going their way, Palermo had to be wary.

After
Palermo dominated the match, but couldn't find an opening in the first half.
But in the second half, Galeano scored a brutal header, giving Palermo the lead. And then, 5 minutes later, Mazuch headed into his own goal, 2-0 to Palermo.
Gilardino has had some trouble settling in, but he looked brilliant in the second half, scoring two brilliant goals on 78 minutes and 82.
Going into injury time, Zarate scored a goal for Lazio, but it didn't matter. Palermo win 4-1

Before
Dynamo Kyiv were a dangerous team, and Palermo's main priority was to stop them scoring a crucial away goal

After
The two sides were equal today, and a 0-0 draw would have been fair to both sides, but it was Palermo who took their chances, Hernandez pinching a goal on the half an hour mark. And then, Miccoli volleyed home to give Palermo a good lead to take to the Ukraine

Before
Palermo feared they would get hammered today, so Mr Drezzy changed the side around a little, and put strong ball winners in his midfield.

After
Palermo were out played all over, apart from the final third. With their strong defence, they were creating counter attacking chances again and again, with Hernandez sprinting past Lucio and scoring. It was more of the same in the second half as substitute, Lukaku, out muscled Lucio and headed home. They had a 2 goal margin which Inter couldn't pull back, Eto'o scoring deep into injury time giving Inter a little hope.
Palermo hanged on and won today, 2-1, 8 points behind leaders Inter
 
computer crashed so ive got to replay the kyiv and inter game,

Ended up beating Kyiv 3-0 in the first leg and beat inter again...

Palermo really struggled with the weather today, and Yarmolenko took advantage, scoring only after 5 minutes. He added his second on 15 minutes, and Dynamo only needed one goal to equal the scores, but Palermo broke and Gilardino headed home to give Palermo that vital away goal. But two minutes later, Torje scored for Dynamo. 3-1 going into the break
After half time, Dynamo threw everything at Palermo, and Palermo broke with substitute Galeano heading a bullet goal, killing off a determined Dynamo come back. Substitute Hernandez added Palermo's 3rd of the night with a well placed strike on 68 minutes. 3-3 on the night, and 3-6 on aggregate, Palermo through

In the 1st Knock out round Aston Villa failed to progress after drawing 3-3 on aggregate with Besiktas, losing on penalties.
After losing 2-0 away to Metalist, Atletico Madrid won 4-1 at home to go through to the next round
CSKA Moscow thrashed Benfica 6-2 on aggregate to go through, winning 6-2 in the first leg.
Aris surprisingly went through 4-1 on aggregate, knocking out Bursaspor.
Celtic lost the battle of Britain, Tottenham beating them 5-2 on aggregate.
Dynamo Kyiv's fightback in the second leg against Palermo was in vain, as the Italians go through 6-3 on aggregate.
Fenerbahce over came a 1-0 defeat in their first leg tie against Getafe, winning the second leg 3-0.
Juventus made easy work of Valencia, winning 3-0 in Spain, before finishing the job 2-1 in Turin.
Lille drew with German side Schalke in the first leg 1-1 in Germany, and in the return leg, it was 0-0. Lille go through on the away goal rule
Manchester City eased through to the next round as they brushed Zenit aside, 4-1 on aggregate.
Montpellier won both their ties 2-0, against APOEL Nicosia, to make it through to the next stage
Napoli exit the tournament after losing 2-1 on aggregate to Auxerre.
Lyon won by the biggest margin in this round, winning 2-0 away at Litex, and then 6-0 at home. 8-0 on aggregate to the French side
PSG were shocked by Leverkusen, losing 2-1 away and 3-1 at home. Leverkusen win 5-3 on aggregate.
Rubin are through, after winning both their ties 1-0 against Romanians Dinamo Buc.
And finally, Trabzonspor are through having beaten Stuttgart 1-0 in Germnay, and drawing 2-2 at home

Mr Drezzy decided to drop a few players, after some came back from Ukraine a little jaded..

After
Bovo got Palermo off to the perfect start, with a lovely header at the near post. How ever, the rest of the game was full of missed chances, with Lukaku missing two open goals in the last ten minutes. And after Juventus beat Inter, Palermo are just 4 points behind leaders Inter, 1 point ahead of Juventus

Before
Palermo wanted to avenge defeat in their previous game with Cagliari, who snatched it 1-0.

After
Cagliari started of very well, but their problem all season has been failing to find the net and getting caught on the counter attack, and that's what happened on 4 minutes, Gilardino giving Palermo the early lead. But Cagliari stuck to their plan and it paid off on 27 minutes, Mokake scoring from 10 yards out.
Cagliari kept on attacking, but when caught on the break, Gohouri fouled Piatti, and was shown his second yellow card, he was off.
Palermo started to dominate in the second half, and made the extra man count as Miccoli made a darting from the right wing, played a one two with Gilardino and smashed the ball into the net. 2-1 to Palermo.
On 70 minutes, Piatti whipped in a corner and Conti accidentally handled the ball, giving Palermo a penalty. Lukaku scored the goal, giving Palermo a 3-1 win

Who would have expected this? Palermo totally dominated play, scoring 6 against a stunned CSKA team. Palermo have 6 vital away goals, leaving CSKA having it all to do in the second leg

Breaking news today, as Chelsea have sacked Ancelotti. Rumours are this will set off a managerial merry go round as Chelsea look for a new manager. Names linked with the club is Barcelona's main man, Pep Guardiola, whose contract runs out at the end of the season.
Palermo manager, Mr Drezzy, is also short listed to be offered the job, along with Manchester City's under fire manager, Roberto Mancini, and Atletico Madrids Quique Flores, whose contract runs out at Atletico Madrid in the coming months
