Hi

I have the same problem with him. I play with V2 (4-1-4-1). He plays DM. I think the problem isn't him but the position.

I think that always DM position has low ratings after games.

Can someone tell me how to set the OI's to remain always and dont need to set them again in pre-game??

If you play FM Touch mode then you can't do that

If you play the full mode then go to "Tactics" ---> "Opposition Instructions"

Guys, I've updated the V7 tactic and tweaked the dribbling settings of AMC and MCR positions, which gave a solid boost to the tactic performance.

The same changes in the dribbling settings for MCL and MCR positions in V8 tactic greatly boosted the performance of V8 tactic and now I see that the performance of V8 tactic somehow at the same level as the performance of V7 so I've brought it back to the OP.

Also, in order to remove any confusion I renamed PARAGON V7 tactic into PARAGON ( 4-2-3-1 ) V1 and renamed PARAGON V8 into PRAGON ( 4-3-3 ) V1.

Additional "foot rating recommendations" have been added to the OP:

"PARAGON ( 4-2-3-1 ) TACTIC: MCR (Box To Box ) should be right footed or he should have at least "Fairly Strong/Strong" rating for the right foot, if you have a left footed player for MCR ( Box To Box ) position you can “mirror” the tactic and drag the Box To Box Midfielder to MCL slot and drag CM (Defend) to MCR slot"

"PARAGON ( 4-3-3 ) TACTIC: MCR should be right footed or he should have at least "Fairly Strong/Strong" rating for the right foot, MCL should be left footed or he should have at least "Fairly Strong/Strong" rating for the left foot"

The filters, the attributes recommendations and PPMs have been updated.

AML should be right footed.

AMR should be left footed or have at least "Fairly Strong/Strong" for the left foot.

I have done that but when im going to play match and im on pre-game all gaps are empty and i have to set them again one by one..do you know why ?

Press the "show positions" button when that happens :P

Guys, I want to share my experience of using the 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 tactics, it might help greatly boost your results.

If you see that your opponent uses a defensive formation with DM then you can use the 4-2-3-1 tactic without any fear even when you are an underdog and your opponent is a favorite.

Here's an example of defensive formations with DM:
dm_f.png

But when you see that your opponent uses an attacking formation with AM or 2 Strikers then you need to be very careful here and correctly evaluate your strength and the strength of your opponents, for example, if you play an away match vs top club such as Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barca, Man City, Liverpool, Tottenham and some other and you see that these clubs use an attacking formation agsint you and if you go with the 4-2-3-1 tactic then the match result might be unpredictable because you'll be creating a lot of scoring chances and your opponents also will be creating a lot of scoring chances against you and if you are unlucky at the finishing then you might lose heavily but if you go with 4-3-3 then you greatly limit the amount of scoring chances for you opposition and there’s probability for draw or if you lose than no more than 1 goal.

Here's an example of attacking formations with AM and 2 Strikers:

I have easily win Serie C and Serie B with Spal, but in Serie A... 15 games, 1V 6N 8L :(

For those people that use "Instant Result" to play matches and can't see the opposition formation during matches to adjust their tactics according it, there's a way to get a hint what formation your opposition uses most time from the scout report before the match:

SC_Report.png

Please notice that some teams use 2 formations and the report shows only "the most used formation" so there's a chance that against you will be used other formation but anyway this hint is better than nothing. ;)

Straight before match just go in schedule, click on opponent team, click on tactic and i am 99% that that one would be for the next match :)

It shows only what tactic was used in last match but some AI managers have 2 preferred formations : Attacking and Defensive.

For example, look at Juventus in the 1st season, it uses 4-3-1-2 Narrow for home matches and 4-1-2-2-1 DM Wide for away matches.

Ohhh well ok! Will keep that in mind, but i used that method and till now never get wrong... anyway its not difficult to doyble check at the beggining of the game, but in overall i think you made a very good point about using 2 tactics together... ME i think will always be confussed aswell so win win situation

HELP!
I am using V7 tactics and used V3 before both with AMC or DMC. I am playing with a second league weak team but still I can hardly score anything. 1 goal in 4 games. I have 55-65% possession but the shots are so poor always blocked or go to the sky, and players make so many mistakes. If i get a goal behind I never come back. How do you all win leagues here and I hardly score?

Whats your team and what season? If its first i can try to test it and will see where is the problem mmmh?

TFF, I like the new version of 4-2-3-1 tactic, I used it with Stoke City, the 1st season and won the league, Capital One Cup and FA Cup. :)

But I agree, it looks too vulnerable vs "big boys" so I'll try to mix it with the 4-3-3 tactic in the next season.

As always, thank you for the good work!

I tested the 4-2-3-1 tactic with a very weak underdog team vs top clubs that use defensive formations with DM and found that they are totally harmless, at least, they didn't create more chances vs me when I used the 4-2-3-1 tactic than when I used the 4-3-3 tactic, so it's safely to say that there's no point to be defensive when there's no need for it.

i start ahead with 2 goals and matic got red card and atletico scores 2 goals, 2 half hazard goes beast mode
chelsea squad sucks btw

I see that he received a red card after the second yellow... Mate, did you add "Easy Off Tackle" PI to him after the 1st yellow card?

I can say that I've tested for countless amount of seasons and I never had a players sent off due the second yellow card when I play matches myself because I always applied "Easy Off Tackle" PI after the 1st yellow card and after than I never saw that the player received the second yellow card.
