Perfect 4-1-2-2-1 My Last Hurrah

Quick update as I'm now three quarters through the season. I'm 12 points ahead of Napoli who are in second place with a game in hand aswell which is really, really good in my eyes. I only have on loss in the league so far with Icardi scoring 30 goals as the F9 and Adama Traore with 20 assists from the right wing.

I go knocked out in the quarter finals of the cup by Fiorentina on penalties in a game I probaly deserved to lose anyway.
I am however, still going strong in the EL as I'm now facing Lyon in the quarter finals. Looking at the remaining teams I think i have a good shot of winning the EL aswell.

To summarize: great tactic with good looking play and awesome results aswell!
Thanks for the feedback dpvw, hope it continues to impress. I had a nightmare season despite finishing 3rd again. I lost my best DC to international duty and the only way out was to sell him in January(to Liverpool where he remained on Int Duty)?????????. Then in March I had a player revolt saying I had not kept a promise to let a player leave(promise was to accept a reasonable valuation if one came in, which it never) all my players morale dropped to suicidal levels and I also had my best and only good right back injured for the rest of the season and my star striker injured for 5 months(he's still injured). Still have a player revolt on my hands, as players ask to leave to join "Bigger" clubs who have not even qualified for Europe???.

This is the normal standard tactic. I use this untweaked for every away game. For the home tactic I change the fullbacks to attacking and add "look for overlap" team instruction. If you need a goal change to attack or even overload. To see out a game change to counter and structured.

Changed the full backs to attack but "look for overlap" is not there to pick?

These are my expectations for season 3 ?????????????????

My total spending on players up to now is only £7M(£58M spent £51 recouped) and now i'm supposed to put in a title challenge???????????.

Would anyone be willing to run a few tests with a few minor tweaks? I think these tactics are almost perfect so changing anything major is a definite no no, but with some very minor tweaks i'm hoping to lessen the games in which I dominate yet lose or draw in frustrating game spoiling fashion. Let me know if you are up for a test or two? Thaks

Currently testing with Celtic and just about to finish my 1st season. Could try your tweaks 2nd season and compare?

Lets try it. Put the tweaks here...

Awesome tactic, was expected 24th in League 2 with Wrexham, was using my own tactic which had me in 4th but I hit a stumbling block and didn't win in 5. Tried this and here are the results.

Worth noting that I had a couple of brilliant players (League 1 standard) but most were good/average for League 2
Finished 3rd which got me automatic promotion to League 1 and just won my 1st game 3-0 at home to Burton.
I particularly enjoyed the 5 clean sheets on the bounce!

Can only think that the OP is the reason it doesn't have the attention what the others have

Really appreciate the feedback mate, thanks a lot! Do you use the home/away versions? and are you playing the full version or FMC? Cheers.

No worries, this is the only one which has been pretty good defensively, had a few games, like the Chesterfield away where I was 2-0 up and they score two flukes and an OG, frustrating!

Yeah using home and away, and on the full game

I have a couple of tweaks then that WILL help. Change the mentality to "Attack" in the home version and use the following OI's both home and away, hard tackle and show onto weaker foot all strikers, wingers and attacking midfielders, this has improved my win percentage by at least 10%.

Sweet, will give it a try. Won my first 3 in League 1
3-0 Burton (Home)
0-2 Scunthorpe (Away)
0-5 Shrewsbury (Away)

Predicted 24th again.
Had to sell my two outstanding players, to Liverpool and Palace

Get in there. I'm doing a top and bottom test right now, almost finished a Chelsea test and about to start a bottom 3 test to see how the tactics stand up at both ends of the table.

well ive been getting frustrated at other tactics being so defensively weak and my players seemingly missing so many chances despite being very solid players, when i change they people score but we conceed more etc

so, going to give this a try to see if it´s more balanced, will update

Can anyone post some screenies of the actual tactic please? Many thanks :)

Bobby...I know you use the standard version for all away games and tweaked version in all home games but does it matter if the opponent is better/worse than you?

No, the more aggressive the tactic the better especially at home in this FM.

For anyone wondering if the tactic is any good. I've just bagged the League 1 title with 6 games to go and already won JPT with Wrexham, predicted 24th. The ability of my players I'd say is around mid table compared to most others.

Using the home tactic tweak which I got told was better you concede the odd 1 or 2 more at home but definitely win more than without. Only lost 1 home game all season, to Swindon, needless to say I hammered them but they nicked a 1-0.
Even beat Championship Burnley & Brighton in FA Cup to get knocked out away at Leicester

Edit: I find that using tighten up helps when you go in front and are wary of the opposition pulling a goal back. And push forward works to try grab a late goal

Fantastic, did you use the OI's I suggested? I have just started my Burnley save and played Spurs away in my first game. Amazingly I led 4-2, we got a straight red in the 60th for a karate challenge whilst we were cruising. I switched to counter/structured and we had no problems until Soldado got injured in the 78th minute. After that they improved and we ended up drawing 4-4. Not happy with the amount of goals conceded.
