Why do I always get a premier league team away in every single FA Cup and Capital One cup draw??????

No I tried different tactics, I have played it more times today and lost every time even though my players are better, fitter, everything should be in my favour. On the last FM I owned which was 12 I played one game about 50 times and lost every time and this game seems to have the same problem. Of course people get annoyed by such a comment and, but I think people should know that sometimes they will just make you lose no matter what you do. The game should be much, much harder and should also not have these occasional impossible games. These impossible games I guess are more fun as atleast they are challenging, but problem is they are impossible to win, so incredibly infuriating when you see what some of the players do with amount of offsides, missing clean throughs, open goals, giving goals away, etc.

They are not impossible to win, nor does the game decide you lose. We've done this before. Everytime said person uploads their save, someone else goes and wins the match.

You cant go round telling people something that patently isn't true. The match Engine doesnt even know which side is human, thus making it impossible to "make you lose".

To be fair though, there are plenty of ways the game can "cheat" against you without tampering with the match engine; just quietly bumping up some weak opponent's confidence or passion just before the match, or making your own players a bit more tired, a bit less confident, a bit less skillfull. There are so many variables that go into a match that there's always a possibility for the game to put its thumb on the scale. Nothing as blatant as what certain complainers think is happening, but just that little bit to make the game more exciting.

And you can also see why it might've been programmed that way, as endless series of victories and easy successes are boring. The problem is when this is done too clumsily, when a winning streak is suddenly disrupted by a couple of freak losses or a sudden injury crisis, but it always seems to happen at a particular point in a season, just when you're in reach of the championship or cup final.

Which of course is what infuriates a lot of people, because it does seems so clearly artificial, even if real life examples are easily found.

Yea I've been scored upon like that before. OG's are strong.

I was at a game where that happen but we didn't score.. opposition stats 0 shots, lost 1-0 MCFC vs Boro Sun Jihai with an OG.

and it rained... lol.

No. There is no way the game can "cheat". I have never, in all the time I have played football manager, been "cheated". Yes there have been freakish results, yes things have gone against me that i wouldn't have expected. Because that is what happens in football. But bumping up things to cheat is not in this game. Freakish results ALWAYS can end a winning run. I've been supporting Everton since 1983 and watching football since 1982 and the number of time I've seen these freakish things happen is **** of a lot. And that's in all the English domestic leagues from top down to local sides

An own goal just got disallowed for offside, lol, **** my life.

Eden Hazard collected the ball from his own half, ran all the way and crossed, striker couldn't outjump Pepe and Marcelo put it in back of his net but... disallowed?!???!

OWN GOAL FFS. This offside bug just got to a whole new level.

Edit: and again, why isn't Casillas' CA downgraded/decreased? He's still so fking godly that any shot on target, no matter how good it is just won't go past him. Finished match with 8.8 rating.

Leaving aside all the complete lack of proof and utterly baseless speculation that all you FM conspiracy theorists specialise in, the simple question is WHY?

Why the **** WOULD they program it that way? If this thread proves anything, an endless series of victories and easy successes are exactly what the fanbase ****** want! Why would they program the game to give the player massive disadvantages in arbitrary games when clearly all it would do is infuriate people?

This doesn't happen to often, but once in a while, I concede to a long throw from inside opponent's half (or near the half line) to a forward striker with pace. How do I defend against this?

Except it does nothing of the sort, because again the same calculations need to apply to your own players. and two separate systems do no exist. Again it still doesnt know who is who. Which again makes it impossible as again all of this factors are calculated into the match engine.

Short story, the game doesn't cheat and actually cannot be programmed to in its current state, they would have to write two entirely different systems for it do so.

The thing is, its actually much much harder for SI to make the game cheat than it is to have it is as it is now. Thats why there is no difficultly level in FM. They would have to write multiple systems, and multiple Match Engines.

And as its been shown over the years, they dont need to cheat, people will complain its too hard and moan that the game cheats anyway

I'm Valencia. I'm in the World Club Championship. OOOOOH WOOOOPEEE DO. I stick all my B team and U19 guys in the competition squad, go on holidays on match day (telling my asst to use my tactics, natch) and thrash River Plate in the final. A 16-year-old scores on his professional debut. He's 16. It's his first ever game. It's the World Club Cup final. Against River Plate.

Next game is in the Copa Del Rey against B2 side Alcorcon. I use my best line-up to give them shooting practice. Guess what? 0-1.

Well, I know you and SI have always said that the match engine doesn't cheat and makes no distinction between the player's and the AI's side because it literally doesn't know (and of course controls both), but does that mean the rest of the game is build up in the same way? Things happen without the AI knowing whether or not they happen to a player controlled team?

Because if that is the case, than of course what I suggested might be going on, is indeed far harder if not impossible to pull off.
