I give up with this game. More stress than it's worth.

I will say this time and time and time and time again..

The game should come with a FULL COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE on tactics with helpful pointers. But no, if you're not naturally talented at the game, you have to TROLL through google looking at tactical guides from every Tom, **** and Harry.

Not just tactics, but everything, team talks, press conference, players adaptation, training, I wanna know what affects my players and their form

That could be something you could spend your manager's money on in-game. Buying lessons and courses etc.

IRL that won't help either. I'm a sunday league footballer and I can attend as many courses as I want and show them all my achievements in FM, it won't mean squat to professional footballers. It's about reputation and the respect you get from that. John Terry won't respect you more just because you did a course.

Yes but tactics are the major part of the game, and a major reason why people buy this game.

Yet the game it's self provides NO HELP to guide you if you're finding it difficult to produce good tactics.

Tactics are major part, but if your players are not adapted to the league or low on morale no tactic can help you

I know how to use all of these elements to get the team's morale high and keep it there. So I will start working on a new thread for the Discussion section of FM Base and I'll come back here to post a link to it when it's ready. It will be quite in-depth, so I'll aim to have it in place early Sunday evening.

But in short form:
- Get your players' confidence high during pre-season, with victories and Assertive praise.
- Take any opportunities during press conferences to praise your players - particularly when asked about a specific player.
- Use the pre-match, half-time and post-match team talks to Assertively encourage the team and individual players; pay attention to their reactions to work out when Calm comments are better received and be Aggressive when they are under performing - listen to your Assistant Manager's advice.
- Use the Private Chat function after each match to criticise poor performances and praise good ones.
- If you're in a run of defeats, use the Talk to Squad option to bump the whole team's morale.

From a tactical point of view, go through your players' Preferred Moves and skills stats to make sure they are well-suited to the Team and Individual instructions that you have given them and alter your tactics during matches to protect winning positions.

This post might help you in the meantime:

I do all of these things, last season all of my players were on very high morale, I beat City and moved on 1st with 7 matches to be played, but in the next fixture lost to totenham, next match got relegated from EL, and my morale went down very quickly, lost to WBA who had not won in 12 matches last six of them defeats.

I don't have a clue what your on about...

This is a common complaint. I can only hope that SI take this onboard and implement some sort of guide to at least teach you the basics of creating a tactic. Quite a lot of frustration stems from people who are just not creating tactics that are good enough, but they aren't getting advice in the game about it.

Are you disagreeing then? How about stating why you disagree so that a proper discussion can take place instead of this immature reply?

I'm not disagreeing or being immature or anything like that, I literally generally don't have a clue what your on about. I quoted someone saying FM 2015 could have you, the manager, buy the guides (to help people) with the pointless wages you get. It would add more to the game rather than just having a guide with the copy of FM 2015. And then you started saying it would have no affect and it's about rep or Terry or something and now i'm completely lost with how that links to what I suggested.

Sorry if I misunderstood. If guides like that are implemented, it should not be tied to wages at all. It shouldn't be necessary to grind your way to having enough money to access a guide. It should be freely available.

Sorry I put it so bluntly! :) I think they should put the guide in the game though, if not through wages then something else so its more realistic. At the moment I still feel the manager doesn't have much to do. Tactics and players basically and developing your own skills as a manager through the use of in-game guides would add to the game. Maybe there should be a basic guide available to everyone and then for more advanced tips and tricks they should demand some money (in game wages) as wages ATM are so pointless.

No worries. As I said in post 2360, users need help in-game to build tactics. Even if it is just the basics.

Manager wages aren't pointless though. A higher wage and/or longer contract makes your job more secure. You get away with more and ultimatums can be more successful as the board won't want to pay the compensation when sacking you.

SI did say somewhere on their forum that there are no plans to make use of manager earnings though. Earnings are (only?) used for leaderboard scores.

I understand. Not sure about job security though. I'm on over 100k a week yet my job security is very low. Probably cos I'm at a rich club. Do you not think the in-game guides would add to the game though?

You can check on your confidence screen under Job Status (Not the Overall Job Security) and click on details. A tooltip will explain why it is high or low.

Guides will add to the game (and is desperately needed) and I've said as much in two previous posts. Using manager earnings won't add to the game.

Yeah, I get why my job security is low "since it would not cost a lot to terminate....blah blah blah" but i am on over 100k a week but a richer club would be able to terminate this with ease. e.g Moyes.

Why wouldn't manager earnings add anything to the game? I'm not saying buy an imaginable car or house with it, but something that is important and relevant to the game instead of just being for leaderboards what i've never even looked at

Because there's nothing worthwhile that you can do with your money. If you do have a decent idea, by all means post it in the SI wishlist thread, but I've never seen anything suggested that would add anything to the game.

What if, with your big wages you bag a top WAG as you play the game? or just get mad honeyz inboxing you alongside scout reports?

Would be top banter!

Thanks for proving my point. ;)
