Can't see why everybody is moaning, I'm very average at this game but have managed to take Leeds UTD to the Premiership in my second season winning the Championship at a canter.

Because while there are certainly flaws in the game, it has always been easier to blame the game overall, than accept that one might need to improve. This has been the case every year, and actually from people who say they have been playing for years. And when we point this out, and even though we have a history of being right far more than we are wrong, we get told we're defending the game... somewhat ridiculous but there we go.

Like Mike said, people are all too quick to blame the game and look over all fault of their own.
They know the game is buggy and has little issues so then every small thing suddenly because about the ME being scripted or a huge game breaking bug that defenders can't defend and forwards are shooting from the half way line.

It's the same every year and it's always the same people trying to help out and we always get met with the same response, get called fanboys and told we're sucking up to SI and defending the game despite often being right about most of it.

Mike man, seriously.
There are still bugs in this game from 2007, and when WE point this out we are told we need to improve.

At what point did I say there no bugs? or even no high priority ones? also I said "one", I didnt even say everyone, and yet you're jumping on it. This is exactly my point.

But at no point do they stop you from being successful. Half the things mentioned here haven't even been bugs.

Here are my current frustrations with this year's version, I highly, highly doubt these are due to my managing skills (currently midway through a Bundesliga campaign with Wolfsburg):

All wingers are Messi/Ronaldo in disguise, taking on multiple players at a time before finishing perfectly, this includes my own wingers.

Most games I dominate possession due to playing 2 cm's (1 b2b and 1 BWM) and 1 dm, on top of this I usually have something like 20-25 shots on goal, the other team will win with 1 shot, my striker gets a high rating..

Hit the post 2-3 times a game.

Every game there is a sending off.

I experimented with the match engine by saving before a game and replaying it, without making any changes at all, the variations were MASSIVE, lose 5 nil first time, win 3 nil, draw 4-4... no consistency or anything to indicate that my tactics had anything to do with the outcome.

See the two in bold are things That I mean, but you've already said you doubt its you, and that is the problem. People instantly decide they cannot improve and therefore often miss the warning signs. the 25 shots and then hit by a one shot counter is a classic warning sign about an approach. I strongly advise you create a thread in the tactics section detailed how you play and with screenshots. Also replaying teaches you nothing because it wont take into effect any of motivation that's happen before etc. Even though you highly doubt it, respectfully there is room to get better there.

I am sure I can improve in a lot of areas, I get that in real life it does happen, Chelsea spring to mind with there ultra defensive approach to the Champions League a couple of years ago, but this is happening in multiple games to the point where I think it is very strange/unrealistic.

If this had happened once or twice then I wouldn't of minded at all.

You mention a classic warning sign, so Barcelona dominating possession, world class players missing multiple clear cut chances and losing to the opponents first proper attack means they need to re-evaluate there tactics? correct me if I'm wrong but I would of said they had the tactics spot on and got outrageously unlucky.

Once or twice isn't the issue, its the fact its happening consistently that should make you re-evaluate. Much like Liverpool 14 months ago, or Spurs now. If Barcelona did that once or twice, that's unlucky, if Barcelona were being hit like that consistently and losing/drawing a lot, you better believe there would be an outcry, **** there was one when barca went from being totally amazing to slightly less amazing

the difference is in real life, most teams wont just stick to the same approach, but would make small/big changes if that was happening, yet many fm players don't do this (or at least make coherent ones)

I get your example, however Spurs are not creating multiple chances, they're **** on the attack, my team is having lots of shots and lots of clear cut chances with a striker that is playing well, getting good ratings and has scored quite a few goals.

I can't see how me changing the tactics/shouts will turn the same great chances into goals?

I do however agree that I do not make small/big changes enough in reaction to what is happening and can improve in this area.

By the way, my team isn't doing terribly, Wolfsburg first season and now sitting 4th with a 5 match unbeaten run (before you think I am sitting in relegation and not changing things!)

If this happened, sat 3-4 a year, I'd say it's unlucky. But it's happening EVERY 2-3 games. No, it's not the tactic. 40 shots, 70% possesion, missed shots from 1-2m...

Every year, there is a MAJOR bug when the game is release, do they even test it? SI is like every other major game/software company. They're only after money, the sooner they release the game, the sooner they get their dough. Who cares their product has major flaws...

That is painful! I think the best I've had is 64% possession and 30 shots, you win!

Another point to make, with my Wolfsburg season, if these games were not happening where I have tremendous possession and shot counts yet still lose I would be 1st and overachieving massively, almost as if it's scripted to put me in a more realistic position?

I've never said you were doing badly, I did say you can improve, and that the two issues in bold are thing you can improve. perhaps those changes could be the difference between 4th and 1st. And you'd would be surprised at how they can do so Chris. your third sentence is how the best earn their money, that small edge.

See this is what I mean. Playing as United, I can hands on tell you that isn't a bug. Every 2-3 times, you need to have a look at what you are doing

It's not scripted, but you aren't making those changes that could put you first. I'm watching someone sit 3rh in the prem with wolves after 24 games (back to back promotions) because they do exactly that.

my chelsea team in 3rd year can still lose to newly promoted team to 0-4 at half time only !!! in the away match......4 shot 4 goals...when i am already 1x shots with some half and clear chance.

what the **** is that they can simply kick the ball into my net, while their goal keeper can grab tight of my fierce shot in 1 yard.

i am very frustrated in this situation

Just won the play-off final at Wembley and got promoted. To me, that means the season is over. But not to FM14!
My right-back got injured in the match and I'm now apparently down to the bare bones, with some important short term decisions to make! What decisions? Where to go on holiday? Will this 3 week injury prevent him from flying?
In the next breath I have one of my U21s asking to go out on loan to get some game time!!!! What should I tell him?
It's obviously not just the ME that needs some work!

I told the U21 that we were struggling with injuries and that I needed him for cover. He was very understanding and happy to stay!

The youth intake is useless, im playing as Celtic the biggest club in scotland, ive upgraded the facilities to be best possible and hired the best staff i could possibly have and after not getting any good players from my youth intake i decided to test it by reloading previous day save. After 50 tries the best player i managed to get was 2.5 star potential. Most of the guys are half a star potential, im gonna have to buy every **** player to my squad because im not getting any players that i could even keep as backup :(
