Every player on my team is set to "Ease off Tackling"! That's why my Full-Backs get yellows for breathing heavily on an opponent!
Now I've had a player sent-off after 20 minutes! Therefore ending my 15 match unbeaten run by losing 3-0 at home! Despite having 10 men for most of the game we still managed to create more CCCs and get more shots on target than our opponents! They obviously scored with 3 of their 4 on target efforts....even more obviously, 2 were from set-pieces!
 
Just criticised my keeper for his poor performance in the last match and he comes back to me saying that he shouldn't be singled out on his passing!!!! WTF!!!!!
 
I was getting slightly worried about how I was doing in FM14, until I read through some of this thread. Just about every frustration I have with this game, has been covered.

Dominating games with some of the best strikers in the game and you cannot score more than 1 goal a game or miss consistently game after game. The number of og`s in a game. Only conceding goals from mistakes(like a 40 yard pass back intercepted) and teams having minimal chances; yet they always score to earn a draw or a 1-0 win.

My biggest beef is with strikers, they don`t seem to score even the simplest of chances. I have 3 strikers (Aguero,Dzeko and Negredo) with different tactics in line with ability, all with 2 or 3 goals in 15 games and yet I`m creating 20 odd chances game after game.

Disappointed with the game.
 
I have a question to ask why do I keep getting this?

This isn't the first problem I've had either.
 
I am struggling with what to do with my strikers. My CB was my top goalscorer this season and my wingers followed behind him. Whether I use an AF, F9, Poacher or whatever, I just can't get a consistent scoring striker at the moment.
 
Defending is a effing joke on this patch. My defenders are basically just sticks. No reaction to anything, West Brom's defenders are playing long balls above my defenders for their strikers to run onto, my defenders don't even jump or run. I've got fast defenders, not Terry.
My players press and they keep the ball like Barcelona.
My attacking players just keep dribbling until they hit a defender, it's like they don't even look up. (and they're elite dribblers, Eden Hazard, Juan Mata)
If I play low tempo slow game, my players still play high tempo and keep running even those without PPM of runs with ball.
What are instructions for If players don't even follow? I'm absolutely sick of this now. Even being a top club, I can't win unless I just defend my *** off and score on counter.
My defenders after intercepting pass just make a long pass or just put in row Z, same with my GK, the fk?
Also switch flank for wide player instruction seems to be broken.
The results are fairly good because I mostly score from set pieces (I don't have any specific settings, only default) but watching a full match is simple torture. I prefer to watch the match and tweak my tactics, but instructions don't seem to work. My defenders make forward runs when I have drop deep instructions?!?! Their only PPM is play short simple passes and all they do is pass opposition defenders or in row Z.

Last night, I can't remember who I was playing but it was a foreign team, one of their players hit the softest of long shots, Szczesny decides to dive to the ground while being off his line for some reason and it drifts over him straight into the net. Afterwards I wished I'd recorded the replay it was that unbelievable. It's not like the ball bounced first and Szczesny mistimed his dive, he didn't need to dive at all. If he'd stayed in goal and upright, it probably would have been an easy save.

No decent goals, it's all own goals and corners. Top of the league with spurs for the first time in 3 seasons but bored of this ****.

Also, miss clicked decline invite for my reserve team to enter the league, which has made the whole season into hardmode. Why would I not want them in the league!?

And why can't I recall any loan players outside of the transfer window? What's the point in having a recall clause at all?

It is possible to create a successful tactic without a False 9. I'm currently 15 matches unbeaten, 5 points clear at the top of the league and have the best defensive record in the league. I'd say that's quite a successful tactic!

My False 9 has more assists than goals, and he is.. Wait for it.. Fernando "LOL" Torres. He scores quite a bit too, but he seems he's willing to pass even near the goal. It has to be about his Team work and creativity? Admittedly his passing is awful and pass success is ~60-70% but he somehow gets assists, I have goalscoring Wingers in Hazard/Schurrle/Mata.
 
My backup goalkeepers with 'backup player' as their squad status constantly coming to me asking for first team football. Considering my current 1st team goalkeeper is my captain and one of my best players they should really pipe down. Its not as if they don't play at all either, ******* stupid.
 
Why is this sort of thing more of a rule than an exception?!

The biggest myth about this game is that the ME doesnt know which one of the teams is the player...

Edit. If they are not going to do anything about the lame teem meeting, they should at least make it an option to say things sarcastically... At least the "we have been doing good lately..." line. :D

This is actually a poorer example. Other games we'll utterly dominate with CCCs and HC galore and still get beat.

Once lost 1-4 to a team that had one... ONE shot on target (from a corner. Other 3 goals were OGs FROM CORNERS)

I'm getting a bit fed up now too. The entire game is based on who can score the most set pieces. I'm not slagging the AI off here either cos the set piece bug actually works more for you then it does against you but its just plain dull. I don't really buy into the whole ME issues as the majority of people who moan about those are just looking for an exploit. I'm not, I'm looking to not score/concede 80% of the goals from flaming corners. It's not even my tactics either, seriously it isn't! Doesn't matter which ones you use, this is the norm! Painful

What tactic do you play? I just had a similar game but I was on he opposite side. Opposition battered me for 90 minutes while I got 3 goals by 5 shots on Target, they had 14.
This seems to happen when you play a high line, defending is a effing joke on this patch, defenders are like immovable poles. If you have a high line, the opposition team has feeding frenzy on the counter. I got smashed 4-1 to West Brom, I'm playing as Chelsea.
 
For me the game is close to unplayable at the moment. I just cant stand the fact that 90% of the goals are total bullshit. Its either corner, or some ridiculous mistake by defensive player. And I cant be the only one whose goalie lets in poor shots from tight angles? And I've had decent success with my Everton side (third in PL 1st season, now beating Barca in UCL etc.), so its not about that. Really miss how well FM13 worked after final patch compared to this, but I just cant get into that anymore. When should we expect new patch, any ideas? I really hope SI can sort out those issues, because otherwise I enjoy this game a lot.

YES! Most of the goals are from set-pieces. My defenders are horrible, simply horrible. Anyone can pass above them and their poacher can make runs, even with a deep line! I once watched the full match to analyse the tactics and passing and normal play was HORRIBLE, I won though. The amount of goals I've scored from set-piece is currently more than 50% of my goals, I think. And GK let in stupid goals from tight angles and sometimes just from in front, while their GKs save shots that make me eyes pop.

The new patch containing ME changes will likely come in February.

I also currently have 8-9 of my team first team members injured and I always get the news of my loaned players getting injured for months, every week. Injuries are horrible in 14.2 patch.
 
Just got sacked from Swansea in my 3rd season at the club while in 1st place................. The reason? I was playing Bony (my best player) even though according to the board he was underperforming. Is this an intended feature of the game? Am i supposed to be sacked WHILE ******* FIRST IN THE LEAGUE for something like that. The expectations that the board had set was a mid-table finish btw.
