I'm frustrated because every time a new patch comes out I have to creat whole new tactic because the older one doesn't work any more.
 
Conceded 3 goals from corners in one match like the people above, it's really unrealistic and annoying.

This game is hilarious. Just played my last match of the season. Won 3-1 and all goals were scored from corners.
 
Surprise! Nothing has been done about the lame team meeting... We havent been "playing okay lately" and I dont want to "ensure that our heads dont drop". I want to have a team meeting where I yell to the losers for ******* up 2-3 of easy matches in a row. So it destroys the morale or whats left of it. So what? I as a player (and manager) decide when the team has been playing okay not the ******* game!
 
I can tell for a fact that the game engine intentionally works against you in a very non realistic and frustrating way. Tested this with Swansea and several games versus Crystal Palace, who have 5 points and after 16 matches with 12 goals scored. I'm 2nd with 41 points and 11 goals conceded. Pretty much a free 3 points game so I thought why not test this match engine a little bit? Pretty much every single game went as follow: I completely dominate the game, scoring 2-3 goals and hardly seeing any defensive worries. They usually have about 2-3 shots of which most are off target and no ccc's. At the 80 minute mark they magically transform into a team that would make Barcelona look like rag dolls and start pushing me in a non-stop madness. This last until they finally score and then all of a sudden they go back to being completely **** again.
This happened every time apart from one game which I won 1-0 and it had about 2 highlights the entire game.

I really don't understand why they would make the game this way :S
 
I just want to echo everyone else's thoughts. The only goal the game wants to score are from set pieces. My anchor man managed to score four goals against AJAX (I'm Feyenoord) and all four were directly off set pieces- either scoring straight off it, or after a small scramble in the box. I beat them 5-1 and their only goal was off a corner as well. My striker scored the fifth which was a legit goal after a nice move. I'd normally be over the moon at beating Ajax by that margin but it just felt broken.

Unless this is a way of making the game more 'balanced' I don't know, because if my wingers and forwards managed to actually score from the plethora of chances they created as well as the set piece goals, I'd probably be winning every game by 6 goals.

Oh yeah and injuries are a bit of a joke since updating to 14.2. Near on impossible to have a settled squad, you'll always have 2-3 key players out for up to 6 weeks, and once one of them is coming back to full fitness a different key player will break down and get injured for around a 4 weeks+ also.

More than a frustration it's pretty funny: Basically, to buy a player which I actually needed I sold a regen for ?3.2M to Benfica. Got Benfica in my CL group. It was an easy enough group (Wolfsburg, SLB and Real Madrid) but I choked against both SLB (whose most expensive player is worth 5M) and Wolfsburg drawing on both occasions so after four games the standings were: Real 12, Lazio 3, Wolfsburg 3, SLB 2. I play Benfica and guess what? That S.O.A.B. scores a hattrick xD I lose 3-1 and have to play Real, I win 4-0 but Benfica win too.

Now my save is screwed because of a stupid bug, I'd never reached my 6th season. :/
 
Every chance I get hits the bar it's absolutely pathetic, SI have officially ruined this game.

I've updated my game and now i' m contemplating suicide. Ruined it, completely ruined the game for me. So now the only way we score(and concede) goals is from corners. And there's the injuries, sweet mother of Jesus, the injuries! At some point I had 7 midfielders injured(badly), 4 of them being first team players. But this is not all, the worst problem of this update is the way strikers convert(NOT) chances. So your star striker acts like he's blind in front of the goal. 11 times out of 10 he will miss. And to keep it realistic he will score on the short post, (the opposite striker) almost always. And with all of these problems there will be idiots defending this update, saying how realistic it is, or how ****** you are with your tactics and so on...
 
I wish the game wouldn't jump-cut to dangerous set-piece situations. It works for you and against you, but without seeing what is going on in the midfield build-up that leads to those set-pieces, it comes across as a deus ex machina for whatever result the AI wants it to be.

(I admit that I had to look up the phrase deus ex machina to make sure that it meant what I thought it did, so it's only fair that I should provide the link: Deus ex machina - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia )

To those of you who are consistently conceding late goals, I was too at the start of my game, but nowadays I get more success protecting leads by switching to COUNTER and RIGID and to these team instructions:

And when I'm really trying to hold on, go to DEFENSIVE and VERY RIGID and switch on the 'Stick to Positions', 'Use Tighter Marking' and 'Waste Time' options, also switching individual player options to defensive and hard tackling.
 
Last min, 2-1 up, defending a corner, it swings in, cleared at the near post by Kompany, Hacked towards the halfway line by Fernandinho on the pen spot.

Its sails through the air as Negrado and Vidic tussle, Vidic goes up, the ball skims off his head, Negrado races on to it, just him and the goal keeper in the Man U half. He runs forward and shoots....

from 35 ******* yards!! ********!!!!
 
None of you will ever feel or understand the shock of firstly seeing Emile Ivanhoe Heskey lining up for West Ham, and then sinking your United team with two corkers.
 
The only frustration about this game is that it is completely out of reality :)
 
They are trying hard to make the ME as real as possible as in no more 7-0,8-0 or 10-0 wins or a striker who scores 40-50 goals a season and in a way they actually did achieve this.

Unfortunately, they did this by dumbing down the AI. Defenders not trying to intercept the ball even though it's rolling only a few yards from him, strikers opting to hit the ball from 35 yards even though he is clean through on goal, player conceding corners while he could have just let the ball roll out for a goal kick, etc.
 
almost all conceded goals from a corner or a stupit mistake. me engine is just look like an amateur match. how can they manage this after 10 years?
 
Im really frustrated with the stats of young stars, like Jese, dropping. I'm playing in classic mode, Jese is my opening striker, false nine, i'm with Napoli, improved my training facilities, how can i make this stop!, his stats are simply dropping and dropping, he is happy and playing a lot!, why?
In classic mode you don't have much control on training, and develoing, so i hoped that playing him would be enough, but NADA, stats dropping...
Anyone who can help??
 
Really disappointed with FM14. I have bought the game every year without fail since CM 99/00, and have enjoyed every one of them, but for me they have overdone it this year and really zapped the game of any fun. The match engine is just shocking aswell and the tactics are all over the place no matter what you do. Im actually top of the league after 25games with chelsea and still not enjoying the game so something must be wrong. Really disapointed I have reverted back to FM13 for the time being.
 
the only thing i would say is that either the number of one on ones where the player receives the ball outside of the area and dribbles the ball at the goalie (not where he is played in and receives the ball in the box and either takes a touch and shoots or shoots straight away) need to be reduced or the conversion rates need to be improved because players just seem to dribble and shoot straight at the goalie or miss at the near post
 
started the game with manchester united, won a tonne of trophies and have at least managed the league or the champions league every season, signed a contract till 2020, at the end of which was never offered another one, now i'm unemployed and can't find a job anywhere lol
