I can beat City at Etihad with counter attacking, but can't beat Cardiff with same tactics at home.

Every opposition has different tactic, one of the might have the one to tackle yours. It happens all over in football world in real life, Chelsea won at Etihad in real life, but couldn't beat Crystal Palace.

There is such a simple solution to all this.....

if you don't like it don't play it. And if you don't like SI, don't buy their products.

Problem solved. Am I a genius or wut?

Hum, maybe it's possible to improve even more your idea and let's all do that. Ok, maybe except you and the "it's your tactics" guys.

I've thought about this a lot, and I think it would be better if they scrapped 2015 and worked on 2014 as much as possible.

The logic behind this is based in the concept of ongoing permutations of the game benefiting from a polished ME that would be transported into 2016, with technology/program advances being implemented then.

If SI truly are "happy with their ME" and so don't think it needs working on, it concerns me that they will transport this bugged and frustrating ME directly into 2015 with minimum tweaks.

In short, I'd happily sacrifice 2015 if it meant 2014 got much better and we (as a fan group) were content that it would be transported into 2016.

This "discussion" is getting mired in misapprehension. There is a difference between winning and losing a game because of "Tactics" and because your striker keeps misfiring/hitting direct at keeper/defender passing to enemy/offside when not offside etc etc.

Don't, please, confuse selecting the right tactic, with specific examples of where the game frustrates.

The problem with this, money.

As SI only have one product (as far as I'm aware) so they need to release a game every year to make money. If they skipped a year, they could go out of business And then there would be no future FMs at all, so it's not a great idea if I'm honest

As Neil Brock stated in the e-mail I received, the match development team is happy with the current balance of the ME and development cycle of FM14 is closed. Nevertheless, they expect people to continue reporting issues and sending pkm's in order to deal with it into FM15.

I'm with you regarding that idea, it was something I posted at their forum: work better one edition through updates and they would have more time preparing a next edition, every two years or so.

But in that case an update when the transfer market is open could be paid. I wouldn't mind, why not ?! Just speculating, they would go on working with this FM, release an update with the fixings the game still requires when the transfer market closes in Summer instead of rushing over the next months into FM15.

I did think this myself, but with the pre-game editor, people can do the updates themselves, so the would barely get any money from it. Plus people would probably complain it should be given to them for free anyway

They're always improving the Match Engine anyway, aren't they? They've improved it from Beta compared to 14.3, so what would be the difference if they skipped a version? They'd get less money and we'd have to wait 2 years for an improved ME. That's a lose-lose situation, isn't it?

When I said updates, I meant database updates / fixing patch update (improvements), not just changing players from club to club :)

A bit subjective, although several issues were fixed, others came as new and others weren't even fixed.

We don't know how much money SI has, and your argument implies that they live hand to mouth. Any business with the need to have so many languages installed on their game must have a significant global sales base and so should have enough money to consider this an option.

SI is owned by SEGA. I would imagine they have to wash their face financially, but equally, one could surmise that they are able to apply to SEGA for a year's darkness, if it meant significantly improving the product. Similarly I doubt this would significantly affect SEGAS share price; although I don't know what percentage of revenue SI gains SEGA, in the grand scheme of things it is unlikely to be enough to concern shareholders that SI is going dark for a year.

Now I can see u r really poorminded. Of course it will never happen. But its great idea nevertheless. I doubt anyone ever believe it. But it WOULD be great. If u r 12 or something u will perhaps get some wisdom over time, otherwise its so sad.

They COULD release just some patch like 15.0 for lower price then whole game

What the F*** are you on about?

You are the one who clearly knows nothing about how a business works. It will always get to a stage where no-one is buying it anymore. Lowering the price won't do anything if everyone already has it.

Think before ore you make stupid comments.

Not really. The same could and probably would happen even if they skip 5 versions. It just wouldn't make business sense and I want an updated ME every year.

Best you can do is to skip a version yourself? You save money and you'd have a big upgrade by jumping 2 versions.

Put your head out of your ars kid. Everyone already has it. WHAT? What everyone has? U U mean 14? Why wouldn't u buy that 15.0 patch if there would be no fm15? Think before ore you make stupid comments, thats fits:-D rofl
now you sir are just trolling now

I honestly have no idea what you are on about??

Sorry to squeeze an actual frustration in here, but I really need a better squad. :(

My front 3 are on fire, but every single time I have to rest one of them, it all falls apart!
