It still really annoys me that you can't sign staff to start when your current staff member retires. Instead, you have to wait until they actually retire and then have no staff member for the time it takes for you to sign someone else. Grr..

The biggest, most stupid thing about the last few FM games is team talks. For example, if I'm playing at home in a match that I should win comfortably, and we scrape a 1-0 half time lead, my natural reaction is disappointment. I'm going to tell the team we should be more than 1-0 up. The majority of my teams' ratings are 6.2-6.8 except the goal scorer, he's on a 7.5. I'm not ****** off at him he's doing his best. But I have to do an overall team talk before I can do individual team talks. So I tell them I'm disappointed. The whole team is fired up, GREAT! But my one decent player, he's now unhappy. I try to rectify it, single him out and tell him I'm pleased. Too late, he's still unhappy. Or worse, he's confused! Retarded at times the logic in this game.

The small things around me when I play, especially my mouse, would be grateful if the game offered some in game option to vent.
1) Team meeting: I have talked about this often but... But it really ****** me off that the team is meeting some handholding session. We havent "hit a bit of a blip" we have f'n lost the championship even though pointwise it's still possible. But we have when you consider the upcoming fixtures and other factors!
2) "Punishment training": I tend to put the training to the max and cancel both rest days from time to time when the teams performance is disapointing. But I would like to be able to tell that to the team. "The reason we training so hard is because you havent been performing on the pitch".
3) I would like to be able to single out the player who's mistake cost us the game. And tell it to their face. Not that just to have small chat about the players performance in the last game but simply put... "You lost us the game"! And I'm not talking about giving away a penalty. I mean a midfielder giving a last minute counter opportunity to the opposition when a have pacifically given intructions to retain posession. Still these idiots try to challenge the opposition instead of giving the easy pass to a team mate. I know that this is pretty much impossible for the people who programmed the game to have my captain "rally the troops" when there is two games left, six points and 20 goal difference for the other team.
love to see your suggestions in the game.
Would like to add one more... I tend to show my happiness while watching the game.
Would love it if there's some animation I can select like
- pacing up and down in displeasure
- shouting at the ref
- calm down the players
I knew this game is a bit ridiculous and unrealistic, but can someone explain why the **** Am i not gonna play in the Champions League?
I guess thia was my last season played in Football manager, no point in continuing.

How the **** are you supposed to set up your team accordingly, identify potential threats and so on when the statistics and attributes of the A.I players mean absolutely nothing in the match engine?
This just happened to me - lets call the opponents striker Player A. Player A has 7 (yes, 7.) for finishing. 9 for heading, 10 for strength and 10 for jumping with 12 his highest physical attribute. He has 1 goal in 9 games, with a 1 in 10 at best scoring record in the Eredivisie and the league below. His team sit rock bottom, with 8 goals in 9 games and have been steamrollered by all the other A.I teams. Even by his standards he's having a bad season after just being promoted and doing slightly better in the league below.
How does he then go on to score two goals, one a header reminiscent of Drogba v Bayern beating 2 cb's to the ball with Heading/Jumping/Strength/Marking and Positioning over 15 at worse, and a finish on par with a prime Shevchenko beating my DMC and a defender? This is against a defence of Guatia in Goal, Williems, Balanta, Bruno Martins Indi, Capoue (retained RB) and Romeu playing as the Half Back all with 3 years development and coveted by the ''elite''. Sure, the ''minnows'' always raise up and defeat the big, bad clubs but I noticed AZ and Ajax had absolutely no problem beating them.
It's like players with a FK Attribute of <10 and long shots who score absolute monster goals, yet MY freekick takers Depay with 17 for FK's and Quintero haven't scored one for a heck of a long time from my memory? And don't get me started on random screamers either. I don't get why it's one set of rules for the A.I players and their performances based on their attributes and mine.
Oh, and can I stop hitting the bar at least once per game? Jesus.

Haha, this is true. But it shows the sad state of English football right now and the fact our decent youth like Hughes, Tom Carroll, Danny Rose, Barkley and so on aren't just thrown in at the deep end more.
My argument with it is it makes it unnecessary having attributes when the A.I can pull of ridiculous feats in game way beyond the capabilities of their players based on their stats. Players with Pace/Accel under 11 can run at Messi like bursts, players with poor passing and creativity can perform back heel assists (this happened to me...). If the A.I need to field a reserve, unhappy player, unfit player or someone in the wrong position, they will play decent to amazing. If their players are ridiculously tired, or pick up injuries, if anything they play better. Don't get me started on my technical players like Quintero with a first touch of 17 letting the ball bounce 8ft away from him just because he's in a away game.
If I decide to throw on 3 youth academy players in a game, they will instantly be found out and likely to be the reason behind me losing. Off the top of my head as an example I lost Mitrovic to injury who is playing out of his skin. I decided to give Barbosa a run in the team and shift him from AML IF to a poacher role. He's settled, been at the club a while, no problem. He has great pace, 16 finishing, good off the ball, composure and all round turning into the beast he does 9/10 times.
He's not scored in 4 and his last game he got a average rating of 5.9. If it was for the A.I, he would have 4 in 4. You can use every excuse and I really try and justify WHY this happens. He's not played there much for the club. He can't speak fluent Dutch. My tactics magically were wrong. I didn't say a specific team talk to him based on his precise personality type that would have enabled him to actually play to his stats. That's fine, but why doesn't this apply to the A.I?

I don't think I've ever been so frustrated with an FM game. My Athletic Bilbao team have 55-60% possession every single game, but rarely create more than one CCC per game and rarely score. It's like we're just passing it around the midfield for fun but refuse to try to play a killer ball--which makes absolutely no sense given that I've got players like Ander Herrera and Benat who both have very high passing and creativity ratings, and Herrera likes to try killer balls. Plus my striker's off the ball rating is extremely high too, so what gives? Why doesn't my team even TRY to create chances?

Lost to Cardiff 2-1, both goals conceded due to Mignolet's poor pass that give to the opposition, warn him and guess what? "I think that is harsh, my passes are a lot more ambitious than my team mates' so there is going to be the odd misplaced one or two". I'm not disagreeing, or basically doing anything otherwise, but you do realize this thread is about Frustrations with FM right? If you get frustrated by watching people frustrated with the game, then you probably shouldn't be reading this thread.

As for countering your arguement, not everyone here is of the category of 'You don't know how to play'. We do devise our tactics, and many of us have had plenty of success with various teams, it's the bugs which continue to niggle, which is why this is a thread for ranting. Capisce?

Another point of minor irritation for me, when I go to attend games in which my loan stars are playing, there's no headline along the lines of 'Manager was seen checking up on the progress of his loan stars';; A.I managers get that, but not me, which is a bit irritating.
And I don't know if it is a co-incidence or not (most probably is), but my players have started to miss set pieces after training Attacking Set Pieces just once. Penalties, freekicks, corners, nothing is going in :\

No problem, i know that post like this will get along :-D.I wrote some frustrating things about Fm, didn i?I just want to tell people that game isnt so bad or hard,its very enjoyable and not just sit,take a beer and win win win...Game is out "just" 3 monts and its playable now,not like some years when you could not play game after 5 patches!To many people say like i just rotate 2,000 tactics,training,players whatever...and cant realize that for success you need time,LIKE IRL! Far prom perfect game,as i say i hate one one one missing beacuse its happen alot, hate haveing rooney,evra injured 3 times in 3 months...injuries are still problem,but it relaxing that they are not some 3-5 months long ones.Ihate that i cant sell Anderson for 2mill!! This thread's fine for those people who actually encounter frustrating things. FM is full of them. You're 1-0 up against the league leaders and then in the 70th minute, your centreback cleans out the opposition forward and gets sent off. You lose 2-1. That's frustrating.
What shouldn't be allowed in this thread is people then using situations like the one I just described as a stick to bash SI with. Not only that, but even worse are the people who either don't fully understand the game or are just plain bad at it, and ignore their own shortcomings in favour of just criticising the match engine. Here's one example:
With all due respect, you don't fully understand the game. Using CCCs as a way of measuring the success of a tactic is well known as being massively flawed anyway, but even if we disregard that, CCCs are not calculated as chances that will be put away the majority of the time. All a clear cut chance is is pretty much just that; a chance where there is a clear opportunity to score. That doesn't mean scoring is guaranteed or even LIKELY. 5 CCCs and 0 goals isn't particularly out of the ordinary. One of your strikers should have put one away, but there's a whole range of reasons why they didn't. Besides that, it's probably a small statistical anomaly. If it isn't, well then there's something wrong with what you're doing, either by buying substandard players or using good ones incorrectly.
