Ra?l Gonz?lez Blanco - The Prince of Madrid returned.

Wow awesome!

Do you use Pirlo at all and how does he play?
I reccon hes like the best for tutoring anyone that wants to be a deep playmaker, advanced playmaker or halfback!

KEEP IT COMMI'N!

I usually rotate him with Gareth Barry as a Deep-lying playmaker and he is my new captain and I had him tutoring the 15 year-old I brought in until Crawley loaned him, if he doesn't get first team football though he will be back!

Another amazing transfer window! Also are you some sort of tactical genius or something?
Thankyou, I'm not its a basic 4-2-3-1 just with alot of instructions which I can post for you if you want.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 7th February 2015

St Mary's Stadium

Southampton 3 - 0 West Brom

MOTM: Mamadou Sakho

We got tonked by Southampton and they showed us what teams can do to us if we switch off just for a second. The only display of the season so far that I can say i'm not happy with and I let the players know that after the game. They have had such a fantastic season so far but they could let it slip if they lose their heads.

Barclays Premier League
Tuesday 10th February 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 2 - 0 Chelsea
Sanchez Mino (31', 73')

MOTM: Juan Sanchez Mino

What a fantastic result and a brilliant bounceback from the previous two. We went out with real intent to go and win today despite our opponents as the players knew they owed eachother a win. Juan Sanchez Mino grabbed a brace in a season which he is finally finding his feet. After two red cards to England professionals John Terry & Frank Lampard it made us hanging in there a little easier.

Maksimir

Dinamo 0 - 2 West Brom
Doumbia (75'), Maloney (85')

MOTM: Shaun Maloney

View attachment 460855

Not allowing them one shot on target and having 16 ourselves I was a little disappointed we didn't score more and it was until the introduction of Shaun Maloney that anything happened, nevertheless we come away from Croatia with a two goal lead to protect and I'm sure they will be more offensive on the return fixture.

Barclays Premier League
Sunday 22nd February 2015

Etihad Stadium

Man City 0 - 0 West Brom

MOTM: Neil Taylor

It ended a stalemate at the Etihad and yet again we was defensively solid. The back four was yet again excellent in keeping out all of Man City's barrages and waves of attacks. A special mention to Neil Taylor who played his winger Jesus Navas out of the game and he didn't give him a chance at all.

EUROPA League First Knockout Round Second Leg
Thursday 26th February 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 3 - 4 Dinamo (5-4 agg)
Toivonen (25'), Johnson (32'), Honda (56')

MOTM: Mark Piromallo

WOW, What a fantastic and thrilling game which kept everybody on the edge of their toes, Dinamo come out a different team to when we played them in Croatia. They was a much better side and showed more quality about them, lucky for us we managed to do just enough in the first leg to push our noses through to the next round. But who awaits?

Some of the old legends that used to play for West Brom. We face a tough month with games against Liverpool, Zenit and Arsenal.

Barclays Premier League
Sunday 1st March 2015

Carrow Road

Norwich
3 - 4 West Brom
Honda (64', 70'), Maloney (76'), Toivonen (90')

MOTM: Keisuke Honda

The most entertaining game of the season so far!!! We was 3-0 down at Carrow Road and looked destined to lose until the introductions of Keisuke Honda and Shaun Maloney which turned the game around and heading into the last minute of the game we was awarded a penalty which Ola Toivonen dispatched expertly and sealed all three points.

EUROPA League Second Knockout Round First Leg
Thursday 12th March 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 3 - 1 Zenit
Sanchez Mino (36'), Johnson (53'), Toivonen (70')

MOTM: Juan Sanchez Mino

We managed to take an advantage on our opponents today with excellent allround play. The wingers yet again was essential and both got a goal to their name before Ola finished off the scoring. We conceded in the 90th minute which was annoying knowing full well we could have kept a clean sheet and felt more protected whilst in Russia, but we will go there and battle hard.

Barclays Premier League
Sunday 15th March 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 2 - 1 Arsenal
Sanchez Mino (62'), Guidetti (89')

MOTM: Johan Djourou

We beat another top team which is becoming a regular occurance, we are up there with the very best in the league. A rare cameo appearance from John Guidetti who has a habit of scoring late goals in big matches to seal us the points. Yet again Sanchez Mino got himself on the scoresheet.

EUROPA League Second Knockout Round Second Leg
Thursday 19th March 2015

Petrovsky

Zenit 0 - 3 West Brom (1-6 agg)
Doumbia (23'), Sanchez Mino (54'), Toivonen (86')

MOTM: Seydou Doumbia

We go through to the Quarter-Finals of the Europa League and with a performance of the highest quality. In freezing cold conditions and away from home against some very vicious fans which was hurling racist abuse at Doumbia in which he replied back with a goal and a man of the match performance.

EUROPA League Quarter Final draw:

Valencia v West Brom

Barclays Premier League
Sunday 22nd March 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 2 - 1 Liverpool
Sanchez Mino (26'), Dawson (89')

MOTM: Casemiro

We just are blazing at the minute and no team looks capable to stop us at the minute. Our habit of scoring late goals and winning games is becoming an enjoyable re-occurrence and long may it continue. We have confidence flowing through us all and we are mounting a challenge for the top four.

Dare we dream just yet, West Bromwich Albion in the Champions League?

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 4th April 2015

Cardiff City Stadium

Cardiff 0 - 1 West Brom
Pirlo (52')

MOTM: Andrea Pirlo

A moment of individual brilliance from Andrea Pirlo won us this game, a free-kick from 35 yards out straight into the top corner left the Cardiff keeper David Marshall no chance whatsoever and was enough for us to seal the game. He put in a performance of the highest class spraying the ball about, the game was all about him today.

EUROPA League Quarter Final First Leg
Thursday 9th April 2015

Mestalla

Valencia 2 - 0 West Brom

MOTM: Adil Rami

We went down to two late goals which Valencia didn't deserve at all. We went to the Mestalla and dominated possession and a draw would of probably just been a fair result for them, but that is football and if you don't take your chances soon enough your opponents will. We will have to work extra hard to salvage anything from this tie.

Barclays Premier League
Sunday 12th April 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 2 - 2 West Ham
Doria (15'), Jones (68')

MOTM: Joey O'Brien

We are getting towards the end of the year and teams are becoming a little shaky, we didn't lose though which is a positive and two defenders was on the scoresheet which means the strikers are not scoring. I have set them a challenge to score 5 more goals between them for the rest of the season.

EUROPA League Quarter Final Second Leg
Thursday 16th April 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 2 - 1 Valencia (2-3 agg)
Doumbia (18'), Sanchez Mino (76')

MOTM: Neil Taylor

We was unlucky today but left ourselves too much of a big task on our hands after conceding those two late goals at the Mestalla. We havn't shamed ourselves as many expected us to go out in the group stage and my players can hold their head up high.

Barclays Premier League
Sunday 19th April 2015

Dean Court

Bournemouth 0 - 2 West Brom
Doumbia (37', 90+4')

MOTM: Seydou Doumbia

A brace from the striker after setting him a target he has responded in spectacular fashion, Bournemouth gave us a much harder game than earlier in the season where we smashed them 4-1. They are looking likely to go down though so they fighted for everything they could.

Barclays Premier League
Wednesday 22nd April 2015

Britannia Stadium

Stoke 2 - 3 West Brom
Doumbia (3'), Pirlo (16'), Johnson (90+1')

MOTM: Brek Shea

We somehow managed to score yet another injury time winner and it is looking more likely that we will be seeing Champions League football here next year at The Hawthorns. Stoke was very well prepared and managed to attack us in places it hurt.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 25th April 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 0 - 1 Stoke

MOTM:
Chris Solly

I found it bizarre that we played Stoke twice in the league within three days. This time round we couldn't find a win against them and they managed to hit us hard for all three points. They adopted the physical approach and bullied us out of the game which I was a little angry about as our football should have shone through.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 2nd May 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 3 - 0 Hull
Honda (13'), O.G (17'), Sanchez Mino (26')

MOTM: Doria

It's unbelievable how we have performed and we slaughtered Hull with three first half quickfire goals which I thought we was going to expand our lead but we ended up comfortable with a three goal cushion and three points towards the title.. Next up the almighty Manchester United.

Barclays Premier League
Sunday 10th May 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 2 - 1 Man Utd
Doumbia (46'), Honda (76')

MOTM: Keisuke Honda

What a fantastic result and I am so nervous right now as we lead the table by two points ahead of Tottenham going into th final game of the season. In the match it was a former United player which scored the winning goal for us. Honda has been excellent since his move and played in the hole, he is one of the best in the division. It all rests on our final game of the season against Fulham. Can we make history?

WE'VE DONE IT! WE HAVE DONE IT! THE PROUDEST MOMENT IN MY CAREER, WINNING A MAJOR COMPETITION WITH A TEAM.

We wasn't even in the running for the league this year and was predicted to finish 11th. I was brought in to steady the boat after Steve Clarke left but I couldn't have done it without my team, the backroom staff and the fans at the club. A crushing performance on the last day to win the title is what dreams are made of. We will be partying long into the early hours of tonight.

There you go sir, I always change roles of the midfield/attackers depending on who is playing there.

Thanks! Think I may need to start adding more instructions, only been using 2/3, I thought maybe having too many would make the players do crazy things. Well to be fair your players done crazy things and won the league haha!

Did you do the same sort of thing at Deportivo as well?

Congrats on the league!

Thanks and it depends on the players you have in your squad, I always like to play with wide men but we had poor ones when I came so I replaced them, at Deportivo I played a flat 4-4-1-1 but with instructions similar but to suit the players needs.

He was also voted the supporters player of the year, he was excellent defensively and going forward he was always a threat offering the overlap and options. The Welsh man has come on leaps and bounds since his arrival from Swansea and made a name for himself with pundits comparing him to Ashely Cole.

My Young Player Of The Season:

Coming from Madrid and never really having gametime he was thrown in the deep end and he coped very well. He chipped in with a few goals and assists and was also trained to play at centre-back so he has become more of a versatile player.

View attachment 460602View attachment 460601

Roman Eremenko:
Brought in on a free as a replacement for Gareth Barry. He is a good all round professional who has a brilliant eye for goal.

Diego Alves: Again a free transfer from Valencia he is a Brazilian international who will be fighting with Ben Foster for the number one spot at the club.

Hugo Mallo: A solid right-back which we was lacking last year as it was a weak point in our team, we managed to recoup 5m for Eggen Hedenstad so paying 1m for Mallo seems a excellent acquisition.

Mario Mandzukic: For a knock-down price I had to go in for this quality player. He will challenge Doumbia for a starting spot and being a Champions League winner he knows what its like at the biggest stage.

Outs:

Craig Dawson: For 6.25m I thought it was a good deal for a defender that wouldn't be starting this year. It could be reinvested in better areas of the squad and a good deal of business for us.

Gareth Barry: After bringing in Eremenko I feel he is younger and has more drive than Barry, he also is on lesser wage which is good for the financial side of things.

Vegar Eggen Hedenstad: After struggling last year, we have done very well to coup 5m for him which was spent on the replacement in Hugo Mallo

Major Loans (Saido Berahino, Garry Henderson, Giorgos Ioannou, Gael Kakuta, Alvise Apollo, George Thorne)

Pre-Season Results:

Shandong 4 - 5 West Brom
Maloney (15', 50), Johnson (44'), Subotic (58'), O.G (76')

A'erbin 4 - 2 West Brom
Toivonen (10'), Honda (51')

Changchun 1 - 4 West Brom
Kovac (1', 17'), O.G (45+2'), Doumbia (62')

Crawley 1 - 4 West Brom
Brunt (4'), Thorne (17'), Casemiro (31'), Honda (82')

West Brom 3 - 1 Valencia
Toivonen (32'), Subotic (71'), Honda (90+2')

We got some good results but the only concerning thing is our lack of clean sheets which is very annoying. It's alot easier to win games if you can keep a clean sheet as you cannot lose, but if you are conceding you are always at risk.

Hopefully we can start off this season as we finished the last.

Community Shield
Sunday 9th August 2015

Wembley

Chelsea 0 - 0 West Brom (3-2 pens)

MOTM: Neil Taylor

It's a disappointment to lose the Community Shield but we put in a good display and it took Chelsea penalties to beat us. We are still able to match them though and unfortunately lost out on the lottery of penalties. We can take many positives out of the performance though as alot of individuals impressed.

Barclays Premier League
Sunday 16th August 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 2 - 1 Arsenal
Doumbia (25'), Ecuele Manga (70')

MOTM: Bruno Ecuele Manga

For the opening game of the season we couldn't have had much of a harder game. But we set the tempo and showed last year we was not a one trick pony. We dominated Arsenal despite falling behind to an early goal from Mesut Ozil we showed that we have the character to come from behind to win games.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 22nd August 2015

DW Stadium

Wigan 2 - 4 West Brom
Toivonen (13', 60'), Sanchez Mino (16'), Mandzukic (56')

MOTM: Ola Toivonen

We secured a very convincing away win at Wigan today who was flying high last year and managed a 7th place finish but lost alot of players so it will be hard to replicate what they did last year. The only negative of the game was yet again conceding two which Wigan didn't deserve.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 29th August 2015

St James Park

Newcastle 1 - 0 West Brom

MOTM: Yohan Cabaye

Very disappointing scoreline, St James Park is a tough stadium to go to but some players need to go home tonight and look at themselves in the mirror and see if they want to wear the colors of West Brom, if they don't I will pack their bag for them and get them a transfer to another club, everyone who wears this shirt must put blood, sweat and tears into it.

Our debut season in the Champions League. Lets hope we can muster a challenge for qualification from the group.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 12th September 2015
The Hawthorns

West Brom
0 - 0 Chelsea

MOTM: Doria

Another stalemate with Chelsea this season but either team wanted to give up the points and we both picked our times to attack and throw a few players forward but neither team was able to create a real chance and I am happy with a point.

UEFA Champions League Group Stage
Tuesday 15th September 2015

Coliseum Alfonso Perez

Getafe 0 - 2 West Brom
Doria (27'), Maloney (71')

MOTM: Doria

With this win it will bring confidence in the team that even on the very biggest of stage they are capable of achieving. We should have no limits and despite what the media say of us having no chance we will let the football do the talking. A second consecutive clean sheet is very pleasing for me as a manager aswell.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 19th September 2015

Old Trafford

Man Utd 2 -1 West Brom
Toivonen (8')

MOTM: Marouane Fellaini

It's disappointing to lose, but we have to respect that now we won the league teams are prepared for what we can do to them and it wont be a surprise when we can flip a game on its head. We need to forget about this result and kick on in the league and win games.

Capital One Cup Third Round
Tuesday 22nd September 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 5 - 2 Wigan
Mandzukic (20', 53', 88'), Johnson (23'), Farr (68')

MOTM: Mario Mandzukic

A dominant result in the cup which we put in our reserve and youth players. Mandzukic proved why he should be starting in the league. Sebastian Farr from the youth team got his name on the scoresheet and put in a positive performance which is only going to help his cause in the future.

Capital One Cup Fourth Round draw:

West Brom

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 26th September 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 3 - 0 Everton
Sanchez Mino (25'), Johnson (38'), Doria (45+1'), Taylor sent off

MOTM: Doria

We put in a classy performance and showed why we was champions lat year. We had the game wrapped up by half time and even with a man sent off we still looked comfortable. The only worrying concern of mine is Doumbia hasn't discovered the form he had from last year.

UEFA Champions League Group Stage
Wednesday 30th September 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 1 - 0 Benfica
Honda (80')

MOTM: Bruno Ecuele Manga

Another win in Europe and we are sitting top of the group. We probed at Benfica all game and was finally rewarded with a goal in the 80th minute from Keisuke Honda's beautiful freekick which I was in awe of. Yet another clean sheet in Europe which is what we can expand on. Hugo Mallo suffered a horrific injury which will probably put him out till over Christmas but we wish him a speedy recovery.

Transfer News:

Barclays Premier League
Sunday 4th October 2015

Liberty Stadium

Swansea 1 - 2 West Brom
Doria (17'), Sanchez Mino (27')

MOTM: James Wallace

A narrow away win which two first half goals sealed it for us. The second half was never really full of chances and was abit dead. The tempo was lost but the game was in the bag for us and the three points came home with us.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 17th October 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 1 - 0 Hull
Mandzukic (46')

MOTM:Billy Jones

We are currently winning games by one goal but it is enough and the performances delivered with this have been excellent, we don't have to worry about scoring plenty of goals aslong as we are winning. Mario Mandzukic scored the winner just after the restart today and we add another three points to the board.

UEFA Champions League Group Stage
Wednesday 21st October 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom
1 - 2 PSG
Mandzukic (35')

MOTM: Mario Mandzukic

We was unlucky today and went down to a very very good team in PSG. We cannot simply match their spending power but with the deals we get the players are brilliant for us, we don't have the money to be able to splash on two 30 million players a year and that was the only difference today. The effort and desire was still the same and the players kept going till the final whistle.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 24th October 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 3 - 0 Stoke
Doumbia (16'), Doria (29'), Jones (90+2')

MOTM: Doria

A cultured performance today by us at our best. Usually Stoke have caused us problems in the past and been a bit of a bogey team but that was cancelled out today. We was quicker, stronger and more hungrier than them for everything. They seemed half-hearted going into things and never really looked up for the challenge.

Capital One Cup Fourth Round
Tuesday 27th October 2015
The Hawthorns

West Brom 3 - 2 Aston Villa (AET)
Mandzukic (10', 105+3'), Doumbia (31')

MOTM: Mario Mandzukic

What an exciting game to watch for the fans as they was treated to a 5 goal bonanza. Aston Villa pegged us back twice before taking us to extra time which we resulted to be too strong for them and scored the winner at the end of the first period.

Capital One Cup Quarter Final draw:

Sunderland v West Brom

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 31st October 2015

Carrow Road

Norwich 0 - 1 West Brom
Maloney (82')

MOTM: Neil Taylor

We are starting to get into our stride now in the Premier League and we try play with a passing philosophy which some people call us boring for long periods of the game with possession doing nothing with it but we played at a fast tempo today which Norwich couldn't handle and 1-0 didn't justify our performance.

Parc des Princes

PSG 1 - 1 West Brom
Eremenko (11')

MOTM: Bruno Ecuele Manga

We played out our skins today and after taking the early lead I thought maybe we could clinch on and steal a win but it wasn't to be as PSG scored through a well worked set-piece which had been practiced on the training ground and caught us out but if you would have offered me a draw away from home I would have snapped your hand off.

Barclays Premier League
Monday 9th November 2015

White Hart Lane

Tottenham 2 - 0 West Brom

MOTM: Sandro

We offered very little today going forwards and Tottenham battered us to a pulp in the first half but we managed to go into the break all square. After the restart Tottenham had their long awaited goal and builded on it. We was just not good enough today which is a disappointment.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 21st November 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 1 - 0 Aston Villa
Johnson (60')

MOTM: Craig Alcock

Despite not scoring lots of goals, we are keeping clean sheets which is a good sign. We have January to bolster our attacking line but you cannot buy a good defence. We wrapped the game up with half an hour to go with a lovely Adam Johnson run before he cut inside on his left and curled it into the top corner.

UEFA Champions League Group Stage
Wednesday 25th November 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 5 - 0 Getafe

MOTM: Mario Mandzukic

I'm lost for words at that performance. We was going into half-time 5-0 up in a big European game it was beyond believable.. Thats how the game stayed but we was excellent and in doing so we have managed to qualify for the knockout rounds along with PSG, we cannot top the group unless PSG drop points and we gain more.

The two ex-Bayern men was on the scoresheet to supply us the win today. We had alot of possession but was taking too many shots from distance which I was a little disappointed about. The other thing which annoyed me was conceding a silly goal in the 90th minute which marked off our clean sheet.

MOTM: Scott Parker

Yet another game won by the single goal and a clean sheet which I am praising my defence for as they are keeping like a rock at the back. We lost Subotic late on due to a player been clean through before he took one for the team which probably saved us two points.

West Brom 1 - 1 Liverpool
Robben (42'), Casemiro sent off

MOTM: Neil Taylor

We was unlucky not to win this match, Liverpool had no real quality and offered very little, us however had plenty of good chances to go and win the game but we couldn't take them which was frustrating.

Capital One Cup Quarter Final
Wednesday 16th December 2015

Stadium Of Light

Sunderland 2 - 3 West Brom (AET)
Robben (47', 48'), Mandzukic (107')

MOTM: Arjen Robben

What a phenominal game. After falling two goals behind we seemed dead and buried, until half-time when I told the players to look at the guy next to them and believe and trust that you will win this game, within 3 minutes of the restart we was level and got taken to extra-time until Mario Mandzukic scored the winner and ended the thriller.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 19th December 2015

The Hawthorns

West Brom 5 - 2 Southampton
Eremenko (1'), Doumbia (12', 23', 50'), Maloney (20')

MOTM: Seydou Doumbia

A match I expected to be much closer, but after Mandzukic was out with a head injury Doumbia stepped up to the plate and claimed a hat-trick, he has been out of regular action for around a month but with performances like this he can be expecting to be starting alot more games.

Barclays Premier League
Tuesday 22nd December 2015

Madejski Stadium

Reading 1 - 2 West Brom
Mandzukic (1'), Toivonen (14')

MOTM: Ola Toivonen

This was a weird game, a game of two halves. The first we was brilliant and could have been four or five goals up but when we came back out we looked sloppy and lazy thinking the game was already won but Reading wasn't good enough to capitilise on us.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 26th December 2015

Cardiff City Stadium

Cardiff 0 - 0 West Brom

MOTM: Hugo Mallo

Very, very disappointing considering Cardiff are rock bottom in the league and we couldn't even score a goal against them. We didn't play as a team either as alot of individuals tried to win the match on their own.

Barclays Premier League
Wednesday 30th December 2015

Emirates Stadium

Arsenal 0 - 0 West Brom

MOTM: Bruno Ecuele Manga

Another stalemate but this time against top team Arsenal, we was on top form defensively but offensively we couldn't score again. We did however hit the post 3 times.
