Just passed the winter break and your tactic is great! I used 4-2-3-1 before but that usually left a gap between my defenders and midfielders. With your tactic I barely concede any goals and my wingers have been killing!
I spent all my dosh on one good AMC, bought fetfatzidis and he has 18 assists, 4 goals and 4 man-of the-match performances... 19yrs old and all in 24 appearances!!!!!

I was predicted to fight for 6th place but I'm a title contender now lying 1 point under the league leaders!

I was coaching a 3rd league team in Portugal, named Pinhalnovense, then on 2015 i have a chance to push up Valencia to the top.
Valencia was on 15th (!!) place, then i started here (with your tactic, with minor changes): 16/11/2014

46 games = 43 wins, 3 draws

I won Liga BBVA, Taça do Rei and Euro Cup :)


Now with URUGUAI, (i took them to the World Champion title, with other tactic), i will try your tactic (with my minor changes) in Copa América :)
 
Raikan, I may have to switch over to your 4-3-3 tactic with my Cesena team....don't think I've yet got the horses to run this one after all...
 
Do you have some tips how to play Carroll in this tactic? Tried setting him as a modern Targetman with instruction from a other thread but doesn't quite work out.
 
Try playing him as a complete forward. And change cross aim from your wingers to "head"

ExCiSe did you plug and play the tactic or make some tweaks? I am going into year two with PSG, made a few more tweaks to try and optimize it for my team. Anyways if you made some tweaks let us know mate.

Adv forward - attack or complete forward, ask him to hold up ball and run with ball sometimes :) play through balls and shoot from range sometimes! direct passing, lots of closing down and set him as the Target Man to mixed, see if that works a little bit if not just remove him as TM and play him normally.. have him move into channels as well instead of being normal :)

hey mate, adopt a more defensive approach in harder games but use this in easier games, have them both in your match prep :)
 
hey, ive been looking for a good 4231 since fm 10 when jp woody brought out his own. Ive noticed a few fair on this site, but none that fitted the type that i wanted, with an advanced playmaker and attacking mid, the majority of the other 4231's have two defensive mids, so your tactic was exactly what i was looking for.

Anyway, i tested with arsenal and after the first season i won the league cup, lost in the final of the FA cup, knocked out in the quarters of the champions cup and came 4th in the league (finished with 91 points, but for some reason chelsea, utd and city all had unbelievable seasons too). With this tactic my team scored tons of goals, it was no longer a suprise by the end of the season when my team were knocking 7 passed teams, the defence is great too.

My players performed excellent in the roles, hamsik my cm, got double figures in goals and assists, along with my wingers and amc, and van persie playing as a poacher played 59 and got 74 goals overall!

overall, brilliant tactic raikan, best ive used in fm 11!

I made some tweaks as i told you!

I don't like long shots, so i put individually for all players rarely on long shots.

In throw-ins, i put short for both sides.

In corner kick set i kept near post but i change the roles of some players for this:
RCB - attack near post (best Header and Jumping CB)
LCB - challenge keeper
FB - stay back
CMR - stay back if needed
all other players - lurk outside area

To take corners on left side put your best corner taker with right foot, and vice-versa for the other side!


This is the basic, then in matches, dependind how it goes, i change some things that i think it's important, like Raikan says, if you are winning by 2 or 3, you want to retain possession, so you set the strategy to standard and shout for retain possession and pass to feet.
If you want to score and the clock is ticking, you can take off LCM and put a stryker, change strategy to overload and shout for push higher up (defense line),hassle opponents (closing down), get stuck in (tackling intensity) and take more risks.

I started a game with AC milan to test it out and won all pre-season games along with the first 4 games of the season, i'm still playing it now.
I would post printscreens but im a newbie to the forum, ah well.

thanks mate :) glad it is working well for you so far :)

going to upload a few screenshots that I took last night with this tactic, all the games I have played since I got Fm11 were used (the Arsenal game was my mates one) all of the games I played were the 1st games with this tactic and all pretty much on the 1st day that I loaded them up as I normally save before I quit before a game (otherwise its always, just one more game at like 2am :P)

some of the saves were 1st season, and some not more than 2 or 3 seasons in.. I just wanted to see how the tactic would work for different teams in different leagues instead of just posting all my Porto updates :)
 
Updates as promised..

Tactic testing with other teams, different leagues: (all 1st games using this tactic) Moscow goal was from penalty and foul on my player) I took over Lokomotiv Moscow from getting Le Mans promoted in the 1st season, this was my 2nd game in charge vs the league leaders by over a dozen points... they were lying 8th when I took over, won my 1st game vs Terek then it was against Rubin, I quit it though to start my Porto game)

PSG job offer accepted (needed more of a challenge, Porto was getting too easy: (SS are from the 1st day I signed, will keep you updated how it goes from now on with PSG using this tactic, 1st game on my 1st hour after signing was vs Udinese, had a good win against them I must say, PSG squad is a little weak and a little old)

any updates?

using this and my 4-3-3 with PSG at the moment, played 4 won 3 and drew 1 vs St Ettienne (last minute mistake from Armand at Cb, gave the ball straight to striker)

beat Lille, Udinese, newly promoted team and the draw vs St Ettienne.

will post SS tomorrow ;)
 
thats good going so far mate :) nice goal difference already! what skin is that by the way? looks similar to the Elegans 2 I use with other backgrounds from other skins :)
