After reading a few RDR forums, it seems I'm not the only one have problems with freezing. Many people are experiencing the same issue. I'll still try and get the game switched though.
Does anybody know if Rockstar have official forums? I can't seem to find them. :S

Mine was at £850 at one point. Paid off a couple hundred but every time I see the sheriffs I just have to kill them otherwise they will kill me and it just gets worse XD

Just get a pardon letter.
Basically they show up in your inventory (Select/Back button) and you can find them either from main missions - for example I remember getting one from one of Seth's missions - or from raiding Gang Hideouts and looting the boxes there etc.
Think I have 2 or 3 of them at the moment so not too hard to find.
Id rather there was an option for them to take you alive and shove you in jail (like Oblivion)

Thing is a lot of people in those days couldn't swim and you wouldn't really find much water where the game is set.
There are swamp lands,rivers and lakes. I just dont like the way he dies almost instantly when going near water.
maybe it's not water...maybe it's acid XD
Well I suppose that is very unrealistic that he dies instantly. Will probably be one of those improvements if there was to be a sequel knowing Rockstar.
yeah that sounds a bit unrealistic..
I know people might not have been able to swim well in those days, but they would be able to flail around and stay up for a bit, maybe enough to give you time to get back to the shore?
