WINTER OF DISCONTENT?

3 wins in 10 leave Hereford fans unsure what's next

Hereford's form over December and January has led to many fans scratching their heads as to what is going wrong at Edgar Street

Although a title charge wasn't expected, for the Bulls' good early form to have deteriorated in such a fashion is worrying for fans of the club, with a heavy 4-1 defeat against Tranmere and an embarrassing defeat to lowly Harrogate amongst the performances

The highlight undoubtedly was the 2-2 draw at Stoke City in the FA Cup, although Hereford of course lost the replay 3-0 at Edgar Street

Elliott Hewitt and Paris Cowan-Hall have been brought in on frees to try and address the slide, as well as striker Billy Taylor from Hemel Hempstead for £2,000

TRANMERE WIN NATIONAL LEAGUE

Tranmere Rovers have bounced back into the Football League at the first attempt following a 2-0 win at lowly Bromley

Tranmere went into the final day second behind Billericay Town, who lost 1-0 to Boreham Wood. Part-timers Hereford were also in with a chance of promotion but could only draw at 4th placed Chesterfield

At the other end it was goodnight for Concord Rangers, Bromley, Dover Athletic and Wrexham, who will be playing in the regional division next year.

Wrexham will join a host of other big clubs at that level, with Torquay United, Dagenham & Redbridge, Stockport County and Darlington all plying their trade in the regional divisions

The National League playoffs will kick off on Tuesday as Chesterfield host Barnet

Despite Hereford's fantastic promotion to the Football League, star midfielder Cassian Thomas looks set to leave the club

Thomas, 21, has a list of suitors from higher divisions and even Scotland, including the likes of Aberdeen and Ipswich Town

Thomas has made 86 league appearances for Hereford since joining from Fulham in 2018 and was the subject of bids of upwards of £500,000 in January, however Hawkins remained steadfast around his star player

This speculation surrounds Thomas despite the capture of numerous players set to help the Bulls stay in the division

The great run has included just 1 defeat in 7 league games, with 4 wins, including a 4-0 thrashing of Colchester, 1 goal wins against Accrington Stanley and Tranmere Rovers and a whopping 5-0 victory in front of over 5,000 against rivals Newport County
